    Great review! I've been using a Mister Twister for several years now, have done lots of crappies, bluegill, bass and pike, works fine, has never overheated, but always felt I could do better. I'll be getting one of the corded Rapala hd ones now thanks to your informative review. Thanks!

    After 45 years of using a regular filet knife I have now purchased a mister twister. Cleaned over 500 hundred crappie with no issues. I'm going out tomorrow to get a R12 Ion knife..Thanks for the video. Very helpful

    I feel the exact same way about the bubba lithium ion and went back to my 12 year old corded rapala. I literally though I was crazy because so many loved the bubba. I may have to go to the Rapala lithium as I do limits upon limits of walleye and white bass from Devils Lake. Thank you for the review, this is exactly what I was looking for!

    Hello......... Are you sure that is the Bubba PRO model? In the video it shows a caption for Bubba Pro Model 1135880 The handle looks like the origianl version bubba which isn't nearly as powerful, so I'm wondering if the one you are using is the lesser model. The new model Pro has gray and black areas on the handle, and I don't see that in your video.The Pro model also has a brushless motor. Please check and let me know. I'm trying to compare the Rapal R-12 to the Bubba PRO model. Thanks.

    Was a big fan, until 1 month out of warranty the Bubba Ion bats failed within 2 weeks of each other. Now not a fan. Wished I would of seen this vid sooner. Just ordered the bubba newer better lith bat from their website. Great knife for bass and crappie. Agree, not so great with spoonbill, cats and larger fish. Checked charger and both bats. Yes I am in the boat/fish business and am very familiar with jumping lith bats. Hopefully I will be able to take apart one of their bats and find the root cause of the failure.

      Ok, upon second viewing the Rapala R12 cordless was just as good if not a bit better than the AA and it is wireless for about the same money. I guess longevity is a factor with a battery but you can always get a new battery.

    That Bubba worked hundreds of shad. I don't know for sure but I'd guess it must be a lot softer than the white bass. But man that Bubba worked em all day on one battery.
    That new Rapala sounds beefy. I'd look at it for sure if I got into really bony fish. A lot of salmon, steelhead, etc here in the Northwest. I'd never get a corded knife but that's just me. Great video man

  • @ChrisG9978

    The newer Bubba Pro Series EFK has more than enough power...it's like taking a handheld chainsaw to a fish. I've filleted several large Walleye with this EFK, only takes seconds to get the fillet off of each side.

    • @tmo4330
      @tmo4330 28 днів тому +1

      It is the best knife about NOT cutting through the backbone that I have ever had. It is however very heave for me. I am retired with weak right hand and shoulder problems. I still fillet a couple thousand fish a year. Mostly use small fillet knives 6 inches or less and the Bubba for the larger fish a pound or more.

    • @ChrisG9978
      @ChrisG9978 27 днів тому

      @@tmo4330 It is somewhat bulky...for panfish and crappie it probably doesn't make sense to use 7-inch or larger blades. What I really like about the electric fillet knives is the fact that you just cut behind the gill plate, turn the knife, and go straight through the ribs to the tail, and off comes your fillet. Then you just trim the rib bones off. With a regular fillet knife you have to set the fish upright and cut in from the top-down to go around the rib cage. Just takes a lot more time. You're right though, especially with the flex blades, they run right along that backbone without cutting through it. I have cut through the backbone many times accidentally using normal fillet knives.
