I feel since rabbits are animals that love routines so much, any inconsistency in their behaviors is an indication of possible illness. I have learned a lot from your video. It's a very detailed and well explained list!
i really love my rabbit (he's a 4 month old rabbit) and you have really helped me reassure myself that my rabbit loves me and he's fine. he shows all the signs in your videos when you explain signs of your rabbit loving you and shows no signs in the negative sides of rabbits videos you have. thank you for helping my anxiety about my rabbit.
Some people may say ‘how do you get sad about a rabbit’ well it’s the exact same thing as being sad as a baby. People really develop a bond with rabbits and you do the same as if a loved one dies if the rabbit dies.
yess!! So important, especially the change in eating and pooping behaviours! my bun really put me through the ringer with that because when he was younger he was SUPER picky about his veggies and hay. had me freaked out that he would go into stasis. it took me months of trial and error to figure out what he actually liked and now i know what to do when he’s not going for his veggies. (he’s shedding now so he’s back to being finicky with food but this time i know what to do. HAH beat u at ur own game Leo!)
You are adorable! Just found your videos, I’ve raised bunnies for years now and there’s not very many “bunny educated” folk out there. Good job! Very informative!
Thanks for posting this. I recently became the caretaker of an elderly, blind angora rabbit, so his health is already touchy, but this video confirmed my suspicions that he needs a proper check-up. Taking him to the vet tomorrow. Thank you 🐰🐰
These are all wonderful tips and signs to look for that would be really hard to find if it weren't for you sharing all of this. Your channel always tackles important and relevant issues. All presented in a very conversational and friendly manner. And as an added bonus, if one is looking fluff and cuteness, Ellie fills the bill. She really provides the perfect addition to your content. Very well done. I always steer as many as I can to your channel.
Sadly my bunny is strange and she's not really into treats only if I put it in her bowl and leave her for 15 minutes, also she sometimes refuses to eat hay if it's a little harder to get out of the hay holding ball cuz she's lazy, also she sometimes has really really soft poop which I usually get scared of but it's like 10-20 a day then it all goes back to normal, it mostly happens when she is either got transported (in a car to another house bc I sometimes move and she has to come) or if she eats too much veggies or fruits, she can be really antisocial also, she is like a cat tbh, mostly she bits me if I go near her cage or carpet (bc she has 2 own carpets) but sometimes she craves cuddles, at that times I can't leave her or she'll run after me, like 95% of her day stands from laying down somewhere really uncomfortable (as it looks) and just chilling, even tho I let her out to run she just decides to go back to her cage and lay down (she's lazy as hell), although her litterbox is often cleared she has different lil spots on her carpet she likes to pee on no matter how many times I clean it up wash it out and spray something on it she does it, she only lost patches of her fur when this bitch thought she was pregnant from accidentaly seeing a male bunny from like a room away and started to build a nest in her litterbox, oh yeah and last but not least she IS agressive usually when it comes to me being close to her stuff or territory, also I cannot for fuck sake approach her while standing, it's like a pet peeve to her, so I sometimes can only get in contact with her if I lay down next to her carpet for a little and let her approach me and hop on me. Guys, this girl is the devil herself, but the lil love of my life.
I took my rabbit to the vet and she told me to watch him. All he has is watery discharge from his nose and eyes. But he eats and poop well and he did have clumped poop once but I never saw it again. Idk when or if I need to bring him in again. I’m very scared I’ve never had a rabbit myself. He also tears up my walls and floors and I cannot get him to stop.
I have a new rabbit and he doesn't have his front teeth. He isn't eating much and it's really worrying. He's eating, but only in small bites. He's pooping a lot, but only small ones. I have a mini rex who eats more than him, but like I said, he's new and he might be stressed.
Hey I just got my bunny last week and he was the same as ur bunny and he wasn’t eating as much and pooping small but now he’s okay just give him time if he didn’t get better call the vet
Hey, I have 2 rabbits around 6-7 months old and neither of them enjoys being pet. They will eat out of my hand and accept pets while eating or when they flop but never really seek attention. They aren't frightened but more uninterested in me. I read that young bunnies tend to not be as affectionate but I want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong. Any suggestions?
I just wanted to tell u that bunnies are prey animals so they are so scared so I’ve had my bunny for a year and at first she didn’t like being pet so I didn’t understand and didn’t know what to do so after that I started holding their fav treats and they will come closer to eat the treats so u will want to start petting them and if u don’t have treats u can use a slice of banana so after that ur bunny will start trusting u, and their going to start playing with u coming closer to u and if u pet them they won’t do anything abt it.(btw bunnies don’t like u to touch there butt so I suggest u go and watch UA-cam vids abt how to pet ur bunny and I also recommend for u to go and watch vids from the channel named “lenon the bunny” she did a whole vid on how to pet ur bunny and how to make them trust u.Hope this helps💖💖
Please!! I need advice!! My bunny keeps screaming. Like not Constantly. But the other night in his cage he was screaming for a good 40 seconds!!. Today it happened again. I ran into the room and he was just sitting there with his mouth open and screaming as soon as I opened the cage he stopped. I'm not sure what to do because Google says they only to that when they're about to die!??!?!?
I NEED URGET HELP! I have two male bunnies. They are brothers, and they’ve been together since birth. I took them, under my wings when they were 2 Months old. They always cuddled and loved each other’s company. They are now about 4-5Months old, and now they are both out of control. They keep wanting to mount each other, and they keep going in circles to see who will let the other Mount. They try their heads and back. It’s really stressful to watch, and they get stress with each other. They stump their back feet to show intimidation and power I guess. I had to separate them and let them roam free at different times of the day, so that they don’t end up hurting each other. This is not what I planned when I took two. Is all this heat unfixable?
Aww man u should do this earlier my sisters rabbit died i trained him a lot he died cause his teeth is overgrown so he didnt want to eat hay and he didnt poop and he died
so its fine that my bunny likes being in tight places? (she likes to squeeze and lay down behind her house and cage) she also likes to just sit on her house, even tho the cage door is open
this is a great video! and soooo well explained. im glad to know that my two bunnies are healthy. and that they are messy drinkers lol. but i have a litterbox problem. they are both girls that are 7 months old. i havent had them spayed and im on a waiting list with their vet until March! they ARE litter trained, but every once in a while i find accidents in different areas. do you know how i can deal with them until march? love your channel!
It's possible that they are spraying. This is more common in male rabbits, but sometimes females will also when they haven't been spayed yet. If they seem to be peeing in the same places over and over again, you can try placing a couple other litter boxes around to see if they'll use them. Otherwise, the best solution is to thoroughly clean the urine so that no more scent remains of it. Rabbits sometimes have the habit of urinating in the same spot once it has their smell.
I don’t know If my rabbit is sick or not I am about to cry I don’t have money for vet right now if he is sick I am panicking I recently moved his hutch around and he stays in one spot he stays in my room and he is in his hutch when I am out but out the rest of the time the doors are open he sits in the corner and sometimes squints his eyes it looks like he is comfortable but idk when he’s out he is his normal self hes curious happy and Binkies and runs around the room I read it could be he is lonely but I am really worried

Idk why my rabbit is not able to hold his back part up he can just walk a little but he lay it down again on floor... And i hv never seen him doing this before....i don't even understand what is wrong. Edit : *if anyone knows what's happening to him plzz someone tell me it's a humble request I'm really worried* 😢😞
Is he dragging his rear legs behind him? That's lower-body paralysis resulting from a fall. I had that happen to one of my own rabbits; saw the whole thing as it happened. He got up on the backrest portion of the couch and fell down hard, and ever since then he never walked. He did live for another month, but then died. Right before he died his eyes got cloudy from the excess cerebrospinal fluid pressure. Nothing I could do except alleviate his pain by giving him strawberries, a natural source of aspirin.
My male rabbit was a bit aggressive ever since he was a "kid". I always thought he was easily stressed and a bit of a "Diva", because if he gets his way and we are not stressed, he is cuddly and happy. ;) I just hope he doesn´t have a hidden disease, like brain tuomor or something? :(
❤️PLEASE READ❤️ I am a rabbit owner (first time) and I’ve had him for a year he’s been so amazing but recently he has been pooping out cecotropes a lot and doesn’t eat them in the last 2 days. My mother says he’s fine but I’m worried he’s going into GI stasis any help or has anyone experienced this. ?
Do you give your rabbit a bath cause i really need tips .my friend will be giving me two rabbits and i need to know if we give them a bath tahnk you love your videos!!
Baths should be ONLY for emergency situations. Baths are unnecessary unless recommended by a vet or if your rabbits get covered in something. Other than that, baths cause lots of stress and can even kill them.
Did you feed it every day? Did you give it daily fresh water? Did it have any of these symptoms? Did you take it to the vet before it died? Did you clean its litter box out sometimes? What was it called?
Hello! Great video! I wanted to know if letting my bunny drink from a bowl could make him catch a "cold" more easily? I have a bottle but he is not getting quite used to it. Any advice?
Hi Amy! I have had my rabbit for over 2 months now. He is a rescue but we think he is a havana rabbit (he is totally black except for greying fur on his back) and he has not shed at all. I have run the furbuster through his fur many times and nothing comes out. He never loses hair and I can't "pluck out" his moulting line on his butt with my fingers. Is this normal?
Don't worry too much about him not shedding. Rabbits typically have two big shedding seasons when the weather changes from hot to cold and vice versa. There are usually two smaller shedding seasons in between, but for some rabbits they can be almost unnoticeable. Some breeds of rabbit will also shed more heavily than others, so you could even be lucky enough to have a rabbit that doesn't shed a lot!
I feel since rabbits are animals that love routines so much, any inconsistency in their behaviors is an indication of possible illness. I have learned a lot from your video. It's a very detailed and well explained list!

My rabbit was licking my nose and I'm not well do I have to worry about my bunny getting sick???
I have a question, I have recently noticed my rabbit not feeling well. especially low on energy, and hunched sitting. I already made and appointment for the vet but they made her appointment 4 weeks from now. what can I do to help my rabbit in the meantime? I wanna be able to help her in any way I can.

If it is GI Stasis it's crucial to keep the little thing warm, even in hot weather their core temperature seriously plummet and warmth is essential.
Really, to be honest, your bun needs immediate attention.
Please try gently placing your hands under it's stomach and carefully massage it's tummy in a gentle rowing motion, from rib cage backwards, towards it's rear. If it evidently causes bun extra pain, then stop. Otherwise keep it going for a few minutes and repeat every ten to fifteen minutes. There's a chance you might dislodge something blocking it's stomach. It happened to one of my buns a while back and gentle massaging cleared whatever it was.
Is there any way you can get the little thing to another clinic to be seen ? Reason being, time can be of the essence with GI stasis.
Note to self:
- Not pooping
different size and color / deformed / diarrhea
(may be from a change of eating habit)
if hasn't pooped in 12 hours = emergency = bring to vet immediately
- Disinterested in any food
give a treat as a test every day, if it avoids that means something may be wrong
change in eating habits / dropping food, may indicate a dental problem
not eating in 12 hours = not pooping in 12 hours = emergency = bring to vet immediately
- Unusual position
hunched over = avoiding pressing belly against ground = GI stasis = emergency
- Reduced energy levels
sitting around / don't want to move / doesn't engage in play / socialization
check for any other symptoms to judge how unwell the rabbit is
- Snotty nose / Snuffled
runny eyes / discard around eyes and nose
matted fur on front paws / clear runny nose = early signs
lots of thick snot / very wet eyes = later signs
can be very deadly and serious = bring to vet immediately to get antibiotics
- Mouth breathing / Drooling
wet chin / mouth
something is wrong with the nose so it is breathing with the mouth
- Change in urination habits
has accidents = could be bladder issue = consider checking with vet
(other reasons: dirty litter box, hard to get to box, older rabbits may do this because they have difficulties getting into the litter box or are in pain)
- Matted fur
infection / mites / fleas / skin disease
(other reasons: some rabbits naturally lose winter fur in patches)
- More aggression
Change in temperament, may be in pain
or just a hormonal young rabbit
- Difficulties balancing
Falling over / Head tilt
possible skull / ear infection / foot injury
If you need a mid night emergency appointment you might be able to dial any vet that is open and ask if they have any recommendations.

I cannot place your accent! At any rate, fascinating video.
NOOOOOOO! Rabbits do not bathe; wash, yes. Bath = Nooooooo…P.lease.
Is it normal for a rabbit to pee red ???❤️🐰
My bunny throws everything down than he eats everything...nowwwww what's that sign of
My bun does that too. She just likes being messy.
Who is more pretty rabbit or amy?
I'm sad my bunny died so I watch this to see if my bunny sick
Why did he die?
Did you feed it every day? Did you give it daily fresh water? Did it have any of these symptoms? Did you take it to the vet before it died? Did you clean its litter box out sometimes? What was it called?
Hello! Great video! I wanted to know if letting my bunny drink from a bowl could make him catch a "cold" more easily? I have a bottle but he is not getting quite used to it. Any advice?
Bowls are safer because they are more easily cleaned. They won't get sick from it.
