G'day from Tasmania mate👍🏻. I'd never heard of Puha until a couple months ago.. when I saw the fresh plant I couldn't believe I've had it growing in my back yard for years and just been chucking in on the compost heap.. Have a patch specifically for it now. Just about time for a boil up😎

Yum!!! Looks delicious, Mike! For me personally, my all-time favourite boil-up is whichever one I'm eating in that moment 🤣 I can't even imagine eating that right now though... it's been around 40°C here for the past 2 months 😭 How were those sausages? They looked really good

It is indeed hard work eating a warming 'boil up' in summer Nicole, I rarely do that lol. I like the pork and watercress sausages more than the pork and puha. Can taste the watercress and it goes well .... well enough that I might do a cook up somewhere for a video of its own.

What amazes me is that if I go out in my own yard in California or anywhere in nature, I see all the exact same plants. Not just the ones you are calling Puha but all of them. The buttercups, fennel, cleavers, blackberries, and even the giant grasses.I see one plant in your video that grows here too that you keep walking by that is called solanum nigrum, sometimes called black nightshade. The next time you are out in nature can you get a few close ups of that plant, especially the flowers and how big they are compared to your finger? Also, buttercups have an oil on their skin that causes some people like me to get a rash, so I'd be careful pulling edible plants out of buttercup patches or placing them on top of them. I do that very carefully, without touching the buttercups.

Something different ay Lisa? I think there was better flavour from roasting the veges than boiling.. way sweeter. Plus the puha and meat was more flavoursome. I could be on to a winner 😬😅 Good luck with the gathering!

@@WekaDigitalMediaNZ I agree with you Mike unbelievable the price of things. Awww shame our ppl don't go out and look for wild vegetables. I was brought up on the farm mate my best memories growing up as a young maori boy was going with my mother on the farm while she picked watercress puha as my father was a shepherd one of those typical maori families mate boil ups fried bread tatakau bread Rewena bread wild pork venison eel trout rabbit hare young flappers right before they're ready to fly and I tell you bro they are delicious flappers better than any chicken brought from the shops and of course living on the farm mutton and beef but such a shame most ppl now are so used to the convenience of our produce wrapped up ready to go awesome stuff you do Mike 👍
