You guys are missing the point. No one knew how Cousins would be coming off the injury. It was a gamble. We either got a great QB with an amazing rookie getting some real mentoring behind the scenes while he develops, or it doesn’t work out and we start the top rated rookie and it’s only really hurts the first year because the contract was front loaded. And we know other teams were interested in Cousins in FA. If we wanted to trade him in the offseason there are definitely teams that will want to take a chance on him again. He can only get healthier at this point on the bench.

Prior to this season I said that neither Penix nor Rodgers would complete the season. And I was mostly panned for it. The reason being that they are both at the end of the careers (or past the end for Rodgers) and that no other player in history at their advanced age had ever recovered from a torn achillies to play anywhere near their prior levels. In the case of Rodgers, it was already way below his younger years abilities BEFORE he suffered the achillies. The difference for the Jets being, that the half demented Jets owner made Rodgers head coach and GM all in one, so he's not about to bench himself.

Signing Cousins in hindsight was a mistake however when the news can NOBODY in the media was saying this is a mistake, nobody was saying Cousins is washed and the Falcons should just draft a QB. The Falcons didn’t even come under scrutiny until they drafted Penix who was clearly an insurance policy, and it’s THAT move, drafting Penix which got them so much hate, that might save their season

It sounds like they’re kind of given up on the season, why would you put a rookie in when these last three games are crucial.? Even though cousins sucks he’s still your best chance to get into the playoffs. My thing is they should’ve put the rookie in three games ago just to see what they got.
Prior to this season I said that neither Penix nor Rodgers would complete the season. And I was mostly panned for it. The reason being that they are both at the end of the careers (or past the end for Rodgers) and that no other player in history at their advanced age had ever recovered from a torn achillies to play anywhere near their prior levels. In the case of Rodgers, it was already way below his younger years abilities BEFORE he suffered the achillies.
The difference for the Jets being, that the half demented Jets owner made Rodgers head coach and GM all in one, so he's not about to bench himself.

What these people fail to think about is that Kirk Cousins has BEEN playing bad. We beat the raiders…yay. Not getting credit for 15 points on the raiders,sorry its not good enough.
