Filling and flavorful, with a magnetic, “one-more-bite” appeal, courtesy of its panko-powered crunch, this vegan, crispy tofu katsu recipe takes Trader Joe’s Organic High Protein Super Firm Tofu to flavorsome new heights.
Traditionally, tofu katsu is served with a sticky-sweet tonkatsu sauce (a Japanese-style BBQ sauce), but this crispy tofu katsu recipe leans on Trader Joe’s Soyaki instead, using it as both a marinade AND a dipping sauce for the crispy tofu katsu.

How to Make Crispy Tofu Katsu:
0:02 | Trader Joe's Soyaki Tofu Recipe
0:07 | Cut & blot Trader Joe's Organic High-Protein Tofu
0:14 | Marinate in Trader Joe's Soyaki Sauce for 1 hr.
0:22 | Remove tofu and add flour & oat milk to remaining Soyaki
0:30 | Coat tofu in Soyaki mixture
0:35 | Coat tofu in TJ's Panko Breadcrumbs
0:42 | Add tofu to air-fryer & spray w/ oil; cook for 6 min. @ 450°F
0:46 | Flip tofu & spray again; cook for an additional 6 min.
0:51 | Slice, serve with the sides of your choice, and enjoy!
