Thanks alot for explaining the L3 messages. May i know when you plan to post a video on KPI troubleshooting using L3 messages? Eagerly waiting for it.. Thanks again for the great work!
Thank you so much, Sir. Very well explained. In msg3 (RRC setup request), apart from 5G-s-TMSI value, would I be able to see the timing advance value? Thanking you in advance.
1)The pdcch-config (monitoringSymbolsWithinSlot) within RRCSetup message is the Ue-specific search space configuration. Is it correct? 2) Common Search space and Ue-Specific Search space are both within same Coreset. Is it correct?
Actually, I only had a demo version for a short period of time. You would have to contact Mr. Yian from Sanworl - his linkedin contact is already there in the description of the video :)
Great explanation !!! Thanks for the efforts and will definitely would like such Log Analysis to explain other aspects of 5G specially the Throughput Analysis which you mentioned And i guess the tool won't be available for free?
Yes, there isa difference as LTE has CRS that are present all the time so RSRP is based on those RS. While 5G does not have CRS that are present all the time so SSS is used instead to estimate RSRP. This is same in both 5G NSA and 5G SA.
The tool details, you can see below along with the contact person In case, you would like to explore the tool, you can visit their website or contact Mr. Yian. sanworl.com/ Mr. Yian Fang - MD Sanworl www.linkedin.com/in/yian-fang-780a9ab/
The MAC/PHY layer is responsible for handling RACH procedure. But the RACH parameters are highlighted to the UE in RRC messages or in System Information messages. You can take a look at the following session for more details on RACH ua-cam.com/video/LyCxfNIL8Sg/v-deo.html

You said that RSRP is calculated based on SSS power at 6. 30. In LTE rsrp is the average of REs carrying RS power.. so in SA it is different?
Yes, there isa difference as LTE has CRS that are present all the time so RSRP is based on those RS. While 5G does not have CRS that are present all the time so SSS is used instead to estimate RSRP. This is same in both 5G NSA and 5G SA.
