Believe me your videos are much better than most of the courses sold online. In 5G i believe if more content is added, would really help the learners. Keep it up.
I agree I am a Telekom engineer with just 4 years of experience and happily learning and enjoying thanks a lot whoever you are sorry I don’t know your name
The way you have explained the purpose of using the short PUCCH and Long PUCCH is remarkable. Great Explanation altogether. I certainly recommend this channel to anyone who wants to have in-depth knowledge.
Good explanation of NR UL channels, indeed. However, I have a few things to comment: 1. When talking about RACH configuration maybe you should emphasize also msg1-FrequencyStart, as the position of RACH channel in frequency domain is very important, especially when UL has configured continuous PRB allocation. 2. For Long PUCCH Formats you said that in one slot there will be one freq. position of PUCCH channel (PRB 272), while in another slot frequency there will be secondHopPRB position (PRB 0). However, I can see from the configuration that intraSlotFrequencyHopping is enabled and, as per my understanding, that means that in first 7 symbols within one slot PUCCH channel will be at position 272, while in the next 7 symbols within the same slot PUCCH channel will be at position 0.
Thank you for your very clear annunciation on this video. There are so many videos on here that are spoiled by poor presentation but yours is the best I have seen yet! This is coming from a telecomms technical trainer so I know how difficult can be to describe these concepts in an easily understandable way.
Hello Sir, Thank you for this session Here are some video ideas: * Explanation of individual DCI fields & calculations of UL grant, K0, K1, K2 and other parameters using the DCI fields * UCI fields * HARQ procedure in 5G * Coreset and searchSpace in 5G * PRB, CRB, VRB in 5G * 2 step RACH procedure Thanks Again🙏
one doubt.... regarding Rach you were saying ue will know whether it is long/short rach preamble in RRCreconfig in NSA mode it is fine but in SA mode, rach first happens and then rrc configuration will happen right..? how does it manage now BTW, it was very informative video
I dont think there are free tools for this but TEMS, Actix, Nemo are well known. I also used and shared a tool in the following session ua-cam.com/video/sXgdmudCZzk/v-deo.html
@@OurTechPlanet I was asking about long preamble formats. For example, long preamble format 1 has 3msec duration, which means 6 consecutive ul slots for mid-band tdd (30khz scs) carrier n78. Is it correct?
SRS can exist for FDD as well. But mostly used in TDD because TDD has same frequency channel in DL and UL so the Node can use SRS to estimate the channel weights for DL.
This is a nice video. My question is not related to this video. I use TEMS INVESTIGATION 21, I want to know which 5G phones are compatible with my version of Tems. Thanks
No specific reason, just to clarify the difference in feedback delay between Long and Short PUCCH. It depends on the TDD format used. It can be 3 PDCCH/PDSCH Blocks (Slots) if we are using 3:1 DL/UL format or it can be 4 Slots if we are using 4:1 DL/UL format.
thanks a lot for the vidio and one question ? how is DMRS function for DL ? is it same concept for UL as well? is it can br dymic change in connection mode ?
yes the functionality of dmrs is similar i.e. used for demodulation of the data. It cannot be changed dynamically (e.g. the number of symbols used for DMRS are 2 then 2 symbols will be used throughout the connection).

Thanks a lot, Caroline! Really means a lot :)
Making complex topics to simpler is called “Our Technology Planet “ 😊 Thanks again for this video
Thanks! That is great to hear! :)
Gone through most of your videos , they way you are simplifying the concepts is pretty good. Thanks and keep posting more stuff..👍👍
This is great to hear as this is the main objective of this channel! Thanks!
I love your color coding and the way you relate the concepts to RRC configurations. Really helpful!
Thanks again. Glad that it is helpful :)
Excellent way of explaining the 5G procedure and channel concepts by taking the Trace log as well. Thank you
This is great to hear. Thanks :)
No words to say except simple word awesome. Increadable job You made. 🙏
Thanks a lot, that is so good to hear :)

Hello, thanks for the information shared.
Question: So the dark blue rb, on the left, symbol1, is the DMRS for uplink right?
How can we access to your other videos on 5G Down Links channels and other related videos. Indeed one of the best sessions I attended so far.
Thanks. Most of the videos are in this playlist

Hi Haider - I am looking for an explanation on end to end call flow explaining all the phases RRC,NG and PDU session establishment for a 5G SA Network
Will add that to my To-Do list :)
Can you explain more about PUCCH Channel like its common resources, dedicated resources & its formats in detail
Sure, will add it to my list :)
Precise & Detailed explanation
Thanks!
Is short PUCCH always transmitted on special slot for better latency ? Thank you
Not necessarily.
one doubt.... regarding Rach
you were saying ue will know whether it is long/short rach preamble in RRCreconfig in NSA mode it is fine
but in SA mode, rach first happens and then rrc configuration will happen right..? how does it manage now
BTW, it was very informative video
In NSA, the LTE Anchor sends the RRC message containing all the configuration for the NR Cell to the UE.
Hi, I would like to know about the reference table for PRACH configuration index, since I see 17 mean index 1. Or I check wrong table.
Table is in 3GPP 38211.
An operator can opt either long PUCCH or short PUCCH for SR and HARQ Feedback or can use both of them depending on radio conditions ? Thank you
Usually, operators/vendors can opt which one to use.
Great Video! Is there any tool free of charge to get these logs? Which tool free of charge or licencesed do you can recommend?
I dont think there are free tools for this but TEMS, Actix, Nemo are well known. I also used and shared a tool in the following session
ua-cam.com/video/sXgdmudCZzk/v-deo.html
Do all 3 types of long formats occupy 2 slots?Thank you
As 3GPP 38211 explains, Long PUCCH can span over 4 to 14 symbols.
@@OurTechPlanet I was asking about long preamble formats. For example, long preamble format 1 has 3msec duration, which means 6 consecutive ul slots for mid-band tdd (30khz scs) carrier n78. Is it correct?
@@georgioskarouzos7418 yes you are correct but that is why long formats are more feasible for FDD.
VERY good vedio good explain to channel
Thanks

You are welcome :)
Very well explanation sir
A lot of Thanks Sir
Most welcome :)
Thanks for sharing wonderful session 🙏
You are welcome! Glad that it helped :)
The PUCCH DMRS are in the same PRB positions with PUCCH(band edges). Is it correct ?
Yes correct, PUCCH PRBs are usually at the edges
Very well explained 👏
Thank you 🙂
Nice, so SRS is valid only for TDD?
For 700 FDD bands does SRS exist ?
SRS can exist for FDD as well. But mostly used in TDD because TDD has same frequency channel in DL and UL so the Node can use SRS to estimate the channel weights for DL.
@@OurTechPlanet thank you for your response
What is the max number of PUSCH DMRS symbols that an operator can allocate ? Thank you
Normally, 2 are allocated. Maximum per slot is 4.
Awsome👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks
Excellent as usual!
Thanks, Albaraa :)

@@OurTechPlanet thanks.
Does Long Pucch always occupy an uplink slot(14 symbols)? Is it possible long pucch to occupy a special slot?Thank you
No, as far as I know, the current implementations of long PUCCH do not occupy special slots.
Can anyone share the Matlab code for this technique? how time-frequency slots are assigned?
I do not have a MATLAB code for this but lets see if someone else can share it :)
I imagine this is only limited to TDD ... Can you differentiate the uplink channel structures for FDD
Other than the fact that UL will be on a different frequency in FDD, the main attributes are pretty similar for the PHY Channels
Hello,
Why is the number of slot in frequency domain 36?
In frequency domain, we do not have slots but Resource Blocks. And this figure is not to the scale in frequency domain.
Any reason of using 2 PDCCH/PDSCH Blocks in example for long PUCCH or is it by 3gpp standard?
No specific reason, just to clarify the difference in feedback delay between Long and Short PUCCH.
It depends on the TDD format used. It can be 3 PDCCH/PDSCH Blocks (Slots) if we are using 3:1 DL/UL format or it can be 4 Slots if we are using 4:1 DL/UL format.
Hello Sir,
Can you also explain the DL-SCH and UL-SCH process?
Sure, will do that as well!
