Just bought a very special Chateau Barton as a special treat. I researched the vintages carefully and decided on 1990. £195. Hopefully, I've made an excellent choice, I'm really looking forward to enjoying it later this year.
thank YOU for being so supportive and collaborative, and open to sharing your wines with the community :-) Looking forward to tasting more of your wines, and visiting someday... Cheers
IAB 2014 they are certainly great wines, a great compromise between the finesse of Margaux and the power of Pauillac. I haven’t spent that much time in Saint Julien unfortunately. Driving through more than anything. The only Chateau I’ve visited there was Beychevelle. Had a lovely lunch at Le Saint Julien Restaurant Too once. I need to go and tour the Léovilles someday. Have you been? Which Chateau did you go to?
Julien Miquel I went to Château Beychevelle and did a private tour and blind tasting (and celebrated my birthday...so they shared some very nice wines). I also visited Gruaud Larose and Lagrange. The rest of the time I spent in Margaux, Paulliac and St Estephe.
9:29 Wishful thinking, "Léoville-Las Cases". Good explanation of the history of the Bartons and their properties. Interesting to see Langoa on the label of Léoville. In the past, I found Langoa slightly more austere and underwhelming. But recent years are very, very good and it remains a great QPR. Léoville-Barton always is a steady performer. Especially, imho, in the more classic years.
Very good video! In fact, Château Léoville Barton is an excellent and respectable Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Julien. I tasted the 2008 vintage and was impressed.
thanks much man. Absolutely, an excellent wine, and 2008 was a great vintage. With 10 years of age, it would have been fantastic. I personally also love Margaux wines, and Saint-Estephe. I like the finesse of Margaux (and i worked at Chateau Margaux at some point, so how would I not love it!?!), and the power and concentration yet refined strength of St-Estephe. Saint Julien is a great in-between.
Hi Stephen. This was a video about St Julien, whie La Louviere is in Pessac leognan so... Here's the video where i talk about La Louviere white: ua-cam.com/video/tVKlJr8Ge4k/v-deo.html

You display a bottle of La Louviere, but don't discuss it? Pourquoi pas?

Do you recommend chilling the bottle before drinking?
It depends what sort of room temperature you have. It'd around 64F. Above 68 would be a little too warm I'd say...
@@UA-camJulien I live in Singapore and it's very humid. I would say room temperature is around 75-80 or even higher depending on time of day.
Yes, so say around 45 minutes in the fridge before serving. Maybe uncork prior to get a little air in the wine 😊🍷
