Love the whole opening to this zone, it's like first arriving in Arizona in the morning on an airplane. And I absolutely love that the heavy magician was secretly holding the goal post at the end xD
I like how the first part of the act is sky chase and eggmans train is also like wing fortress but on the rails instead. It basically took both acts from sonic 2 and merged them into the first act of this zone.
I came back to this video because if I'm not mistaken the train is a direct reference to the "adventures of sonic the hedgehog" called the "robotnik express "
Too bad it's not playable on Time Attack. This the real reason why: It is way too weird to put a Time Attack goal in mid-air, plus the duration depends.
It feels like it has a missing meet up transition and would be a bit better if there was another train segment maybe evening or night backgrounds kind of like mushroom Hill
Honestly this level is such a damn nightmare. Dunkey said this has no downfalls… well,if you die at the start of the train you have to do the shitty plane part all over again. And well,i had to do it like,80 times cuz i was trying to get the big ring. Also you can just randomly fall off the plane if you spindash at a certain part or go left at a certain part,which means doing it all over one more time. This is obnoxious.
I didn't like the plane part, and I don't like the bosses either, but man, mixing the plane with the boss was total hell, I can't imagine putting up with that 2:56

This level would've been more fun if the train section was longer.... or if there was a second train section.

They were introduced in the amazing Sonic OVA! Nice call back, Sonic wears his scrapped underwater goggles from Sonic 1's beta, kinda silly but yeah!

That train kind of resembles the side view of the penultimate boss from the Death Egg Zone act 2 Giant Death Egg Robo in the 2nd phase.

The Amateur Furry He falls into a canyon and traverses his own unique Act 1 before rejoining with Sonic and Tails for Act 2 after the Tornado crashes.
He goes down into his own act 1 of mirage saloon.
He goes to his own section. He is now undergound
But how did he survive the fall?
