Dear Comare Gina, My name is Jim D'Eramo and when I watch and hear you . . . I sometimes begin to cry because you sound and act like my grandma who died long ago. She was from Abruzzo and spoke English with the same accent you do . . . and she cooked exactly like you do. You make me miss my youth and all the hours I spent watching her and my mother in the kitchen. Watching you is like going back home for a little while. May God Bless You Always.
This type of measuring comes with a life time of cooking, when I asked my mother for a recipe she would just saying watch me when I cook., that way you'll learn, and I did. May God bless nonna Gina 😘😘
You are truly America's grandma I enjoy watching you when I get angry watching the news my wife makes me turn your channel and all the stress from life just seems to fade away God Bless you Grandma Gina and yes I adopted you as My Grandma Love you Grandma Gina.
Doesn't this just make you feel good watching Gina (who was 84 when doing this video!). Just her love of cooking for family, and years and years of doing it, comes across. Really does make you all warm and fuzzy for all our grandma's and their best dishes. Thank you!
I'm inclined to agree. In the moment as if suddenly Emeril took me to his mother's house for supper where she sat me down in the kitchen and indulged my interest. Sadly, it's a testament on the jaded nature of seasoned content viewers, that I don't know if that should worry me, ML! (mostly kidding) ha!
I'm 58 years old now. It's been a long time since I felt like I was 6 and watching one of my grandmothers making a favorite recipe just for me. This production was perfect. I can't wait for the weekend. We'll be having Braciole Grandma Gina's way for the Super Bowl.
If everyone would just take Nonna Gina advise and " Go nice-a, go nice-a", the world would be a better place. When the craziness of self-isolation and the current political situation get too much for me to handle I visit this channel, and it's like getting a hug from my own grandma. Heart felt love to you Gina and your family. Thank you for sharing.
One of my earliest memories was my grandfather (he was Maltese) making braciole. I guess this was 52-53 years ago. It was a big deal to make this, must have been a special occasion. If I remember correctly, he added olives and eggs - but I was pretty young, I could be wrong. Thank you for showing me how to make this, I'm definitely going to try it. It's been a LONG time since I've had this.
I think I just found the cure for word peace, before we fight each other make it mandatory to watch this wonderful Italian Grandma cook and before long everyone will be happy.
She is just as authentic as the food she cooks. So beautiful 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. The hell with celebrity chefs, this is where it's at, that is truly the beauty of Italian cuisine, grandma, and I'm not Italian, but I respect the pure heritage that she so transparently emanates. So cool
I want to give a Shout Out to the videographer, Gina's son-in-law. I've watched a dozen videos, and am very impressed with how still he holds the camera, and how he varies the shots from close-up to wide. Nice job!
Thank you to Gina's family for sharing her with the rest of us! She is a treasure for sure. How wonderful it must be to have a cook of her caliber to cook for you.
"I'm-a Gina!!!" 🤗 I adore your videos. Listening to your stories and hearing the songs makes me feel like I'm right there with you. Thanks so much for everything!!! Delicious food and wonderful company!!
Why would anyone downvote this lady? Nitwits only. Italian has to be the most fun language in the world. She is a great teacher and the video is very instructive. What are you down voting exactly?

Nonna Gina, I love you so much! I am adopting you as my grandma. All my family is gone. Your videos bring tears of happiness when I watch them! I wish you much happiness and good health in this new year. You are the kindest Nonna ever with the biggest heart! Love you!
My grandmother made this all the time, she said the secret is the butcher slicing the meat, thin but not too thin…..sometimes she made the filling with ricotta, romano and mozzarella mixed together with the spices, egg, and prosciutto ( diced )…..cooked in the sauce…..so good…..
I love how you tell different ways to make the same dinners. Not everyone has the same taste or the imagination to alter a recipe. You really are a great teacher. Your videos would make a wonderful newlyweds gift. Feed him ( or her ) like this & you will cement the marriage ! How could anyone leave if they knew they were coming home to a beautiful mate & TRUE ITALIAN DINNERS ! A thousand thanks for a job well done 👍
OMG Gina, you brought back so many memories of my grandma n mother! Sunday was sauce day at our house, simmering all day. Sausage, meatballs, pork ribs n the braciole ♥️ Grandma was Sicilian n my mom was Sicilian and Calabrese. (My other side was Irish and I most times use tomato juice in my sauce, lol) Grandma passed 3 weeks before my 16th birthday at age 66 n mom passed 2017 at age 92. I miss their cooking. They always mixed the cheese, parsley n some garlic powder with a little breadcrumbs so the cheese had something to melt into instead of disappearing into the sauce. I make this 5-6× a year. Thank you for your recipe, the 1st version looks so yummy! Keep being you. Your accent reminds me of visiting relatives in the brownstones in Brooklyn where the men grew tomatoes in the front yard n sat under trellises next to their fig trees drinking wine while the women cooked n congregated on the huge front porches! Beautiful memories ❣️🍴❣️
Yes, grandma Gina also reminds me of my grandmother who's mother was also Sicilian. My grandmother also cooked for me all of Gina's recipes like Braciole, Eggplant Parmesan and of course spaghetti sauce. When I cooked my spaghetti sauce I always thinned my sauce with a good red wine, but I like your idea of using tomato juice, maybe even V8 with a little more spicy flavor! I also put chopped black olives into my sauce for added richness.
All my life I was fed like this, and took it for granted. Now I'm older, everyone has passed on, nobody feeds me good anymore! Gina you are a Treasure!
This woman reminds me of my grandmother so much that I could sit here and listen to her for hours besides that she is a good cook I could tell the cam and love that she puts into a creations is amazing bon appetit
Grandma Gina, since I've come across ur channel I have been binge watching u for 3 days. I love your recipes and how you make me feel like ur cooking for me. God Bless you Grandma Gina.
I lost my Mom and 3 sisters, and miss them every day. My Mom was a great cook, too. She cooked for the priests at her church, 5 days a week til her death in 2007 at age 77. She didn't need the money as much as she needed to cook for those she loved and respected. You remind me of her. 💕💕💕 She would have loved watching you, like I do. Thank you Gina, and family, you are an absolute joy. Love you!
I've made the eggplant Parmigiano twice!! In two weeks. All the way in sunny Sunny South Africa, in lock down. And it has been delicious!!! Will be making the chicken and braciole as well. You make me so happy watching you. And I'll be speaking "eatalian" soon. Love to you!
I wish i had a grandmother like this, but i dont remember my old folks... Ms. Gina is a superstar, thank you for sharing your Mom and Grandmon with us!!!!! Best blessings for good health to all!!!
Italian restaurants in my home town, do not make braciole, as they did years ago. I made your braciole last night, exactly per your recipe. HOMERUN!!! Please keep posting videos Gina!
My wife is Italian, and I'm Norwegian. We both have recipes from our Moms and Grandmothers, and we both enjoy cooking. Been together for 49 years. I was lucky enough to know her Grandma for many years before she passed. She cooked and spoke just like Gina. Although we learned so much from them, I wish we could have made recordings like this. She's a gem. And like her, all their measurements were based on years of experience.
I'm Italian from Naples so watching Gina was a pleasure. She looks so happy cooking and I understand why she didn't want help .. She does just fine on her own. Jay
I love watching you! I used to make this with my adoptive grandfather who lived next door to us. He used to put raisins in his. We thought he did that bc we were kids, but apparently it was the recipe from the region he came from. We missed out on cooking with our grandmother who was from Salandra, Italy. She died 20yrs before I was born... She was an AMAZING cook and baker. It was so simple and easy for her she didn’t take much time to teach my mom. My mom was a good cook and baker but my father would not eat anything Italian or exotic. 😏. My sister and I carried on the Italian traditions of cooking and baking. Hearing you sing and talk brings me back to when I was a little girl with grandpop. ❤️
Brings back memories of my Italian mother in law making this for Sunday family lunch, she has Alzheimer’s and doesn’t cook anymore. I wrote down some of her recipes and I try to duplicate them but it’s not the same. I love these videos and I’m going to try and make this tomorrow. God bless this sweet lady and her family ❤️
I love how you said "my hands are clean"...that must be an Italian thing... I and my whole family say that whenever we use our hands for something or dish something out lol!!
She has her own show, right here on u tube.😊 Otherwise she would probably have to make the "network" happy. I'm sure she is more comfortable in her own home(or her family's home)and she can be her own boss. And her son in law video taping who does a great job!
Gina you remind me of my grandma she and my dad started a restaurant in New York 75 years ago my brother runs it now we use all the recipes from her. I love listening to your voice god bless you keep up the amazing cooking.
I'm watching this through watery eyes as I think back to my childhood with my siblings and first cousins at my grandparents house on Christmas Eve with 7 fishes and pasta with braciole and the bacala in everything ....god bless...
What a beautiful soul. All I thought of while watching her roll the braciola. was “hands of a master”...I hope she has children to learn from and love her. Bless you Grandma.
I just want to thank you Nona for sharing this video, I followed it exactly as you mentioned and my husband decided to propose after this meal. I'm an Italian American but never had braciole before. I make for his birthday every year now. ❤
I don't know how people can thumb down this! I have been watching you Gina and I adore you! I am going to make this!!!!! Always looking for new food ideas and you have been a star at helping me! Hugs from Missouri!
La nonna Gina says: parsellin instead of parsley. In italian is prezzemolo😁.she is so sweet and cute and doesn't feel ashamed to speak english in her way.I admire her😙
This is a beautiful Italian Grandma who puts lots of love for everyone into her cooking, love for God and Mother Mary and I wish I still had my Grandma around to sit with in the kitchen. She is a treasure! God bless her!
This is what I call honest cooking. I came up through the kitchen under an Italian chef who took me under his wing. I will always remember the time he took to show me how to do it right. Thank you Amilo 😊
Did you ever get a break? I got my cherry busted by an Italian chef, and man, he was a great teacher BUT hard as nails, and we didn’t even really get a smoko break, just grind on the line the whole shift! He was generous with his knowledge but a miser with everything else!
My Aunt Nancy made braciole. I lost her last year to Covid-19. Please send my love to your Grandmother. She brought back memories of my favorite aunt.
Probably the flu, not COVID
May you heal.
I know this is years later but I’m so sorry for your loss.
"If you like, you put. You no like you no put." Words of wisdom indeed! We love you Gina!
(Holly GoHeavily, your user name cracked me up! LOL
It's like poetry to me.

Gina you remind me of my grandma she and my dad started a restaurant in New York 75 years ago my brother runs it now we use all the recipes from her. I love listening to your voice god bless you keep up the amazing cooking.
Can you share the name of the restaurant?
I'm watching this through watery eyes as I think back to my childhood with my siblings and first cousins at my grandparents house on Christmas Eve with 7 fishes and pasta with braciole and the bacala in everything ....god bless...
yes great memories, except as a kid I thought bacala was the grossest thing in the world, I'd love a piece now.
Me Too! Tears in my eyes as I watch her with love....
She reminds me my beloved Nonna Aurora.
What a beautiful soul. All I thought of while watching her roll the braciola. was “hands of a master”...I hope she has children to learn from and love her. Bless you Grandma.
This woman reminds me of my grandmother. Love her!
She is my absolute favorite!

This lady and the guy on Food Wishes Chef John are awesome
She makes me wish I had an Italian grandma!
THAT was wonderful to watch.
The egg was an interesting addition, as well as the red pepper. ❤❤❤
La nonna Gina says: parsellin instead of parsley. In italian is prezzemolo😁.she is so sweet and cute and doesn't feel ashamed to speak english in her way.I admire her😙
The big question is how well do you speak Italian
She deserves every praise. Makes me miss my grandma that much more!!!
You make me so proud to be Italian thank you God bless you and your family ❤️
I appreciate all of your recipies theyre all awesome very beautiful italian grandma
I would love to hear her stories about her father in law, their lives, what was their world like, etc. Such a wonderful person.
I would put in the flavored garlic, oil, and juices from the browning, into sauce pot with meat. So good. I am grandma too. lol.
I love this woman. It was like watching my gramma cooking for Sunday supper.
Me too!!!
This is a beautiful Italian Grandma who puts lots of love for everyone into her cooking, love for God and Mother Mary and I wish I still had my Grandma around to sit with in the kitchen. She is a treasure! God bless her!
I just love her and want to give her a hug. She's so adorable. She's everyone's grandma. ❤
I really enjoyed watching this beautiful nanny. She looks like an amazing cook. God bless her. I loved the accent 😍 ❤
I so love her.. she melts my heart. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Your singing comes from your heart. Just beautiful.
Looks so the delicious. Will give the recipe a try. I love you too Grandma 😽. Thank for sharing you recipes
Watching her always makes me smile.
Thank you soooo much! You are helping me to cook some of husband’s favorite meals that he grew up with. We love you too
