    San Jose, and Boston are my number one, and two. Both are in my all time S tier, and honestly both of the away jerseys I like better than the home.

    I am a die hard Bruins fan and very into jersey design and history and I never knew that about the secondary logo. Literally blew my mind

      That's what we're here for! It's one of my favorite details in the NHL right now

    Vancouver upgraded over their previous era imo.
    San Jose and St Louis as well.

      @@RichardChips San Jose dropped the gray shoulder stripe of the Owen Nolan Era for black and orange and front numbers in a classic look that's been totally forgotten, and St. Louis lost its hemline stripes for far too long, ruining their perfect 00s look that they've kinda gone back to.
      Vancouver also added the city name on top which was totally unnecessary, the rest was an upgrade

    The funny thing about those Nashville jerseys is that for the longest time I thought they still had the Nashville wordmark underneath the fang on the left side of the jersey. The wordmark was actually dropped before the reveal for the rebrand and was never worn on ice. There are some photos online of a late prototype design for both the home and road jersey that leaked before the press release that had the wordmark present.

      Whoa, never seen that one. If you come across that photo, could you link it?

      @@uglythirds I can't send direct links in a comment. If you google search "Predators 2011 jersey leak" it should be one of the first results.

    My personal opinion (of course on the Ducks) was when they FINALLY ditched their uninspiring Anaheim Ducks scripted logo/uniforms to the D jerseys back in 2014/15 season onwards

    Honestly, when I saw the title, I joked to myself "there were upgrades?". These were some decent picks, but boy, it took some time for them to produce anything decent.

      It really was a rough time for hockey design - we don't have many good things to say about Reebok

    I'm old enough to remember when teams wore white at home, and thus they have a special place in my heart...ketchup stains and all!

    My issue with the stars is that their logo always ends up looking small against other teams’. Is an awkward shape with pointy edges that need to be accounted for but almost never are. I also miss gold - it gave the stars some added regalness and importance. The silver is still okay but it feels weaker and cheaper. Not to say you could swap out gold for silver on their current jerseys because you couldn’t. But I do prefer gold (and a darker green. Meaner and cooler)… just my opinion.

      @uglythirds  2 місяці тому +1

      @@baronbayne9899 I hadn't thought about it, but you're absolutely right about the small logo thing. The white/silver of the logo doesn't help there either.

    I would say Nashville switch to yellow was a complete downgrade I think them in Navy is better.

    Agree with Boston an Dallas, but Nashville?! The Blues (2014) are much better than the Preds for this.

      @uglythirds  2 місяці тому

      @@jonathankarberg9985 that 2014 look is so close to their 1998-07 look that we didn't include it - it wasn't a new look under Reebok, just an old look adapted to their template

    Aren’t Reebok and Adidas the same company? Don’t the teams and the NHL sign off on these jerseys?

    • @uglythirds
      @uglythirds  2 місяці тому

      @@DKJERSEYDEVIL they were the same company, but Reebok got spun off at some point and it's never been clear what the relationship between the two was.
      The teams have the final say, but it came out much later that Reebok could be very pushy and insistent on their designs and often claimed previous design just couldn't be done on their new template

    Dallas is the clear winner for me, going from that god awful and SOOOO BORING college jersey look to the great victory green and a fantastic looking logo, Nashville still has those stupid apron strings / piping on them and sorry, but I'm just not a fan of their yellow jerseys, swap the navy and yellow around and then that might be a contender.
