The more accurate and difficult counting method is shared in Estimation Made Easy. I don't think there are good resources that teaches it well for free online. Most of the time, instructors make it sound way too complicated than what it is

I don't know where he published it. It is just something that people teach in their classes. It is probably a super simplified version of what he teach in his books

I'd still recommend most people to use estimate function as much as possible and learn how to manually estimate just in case haha
