After Jonghyun died 2 years ago, SHINee is now known as the kpop groups who’s member Jonghyun committed sucide. Just hearing these words hurt so much, SHINee deserves so much recognition , they shouldn’t be known for Jonghyun’s death. SHINee is not your tragedy, and as for Jonghyun he also shouldn’t be known as the kpop idol who committed sucide. I’m a shawol and have been for 4 years. I hate it when people always pity SHINee fans, we understand that he died and will always be here with us. SHINee will always be 5.

As i grew up with shinee since 2010, watching their mv and blasting their song through my sister's laptop after coming home from my elementary school. Jonghyun's passing hit me like a sledgehammer. I kinda get off from shinee world and just keeping up with their songs only when i'm in middle school. Now i regret not keep staying with them before and how many jonghyun's moments i miss. It's heartbreaking when you are just about to get into shinee world again and then the news about jonghyun came. It's sad and painful to see idol that i grew up with just gone

a lot of comments are saying they can’t listen to Shinee’s songs anymore or they cry a lot while listening to them, while i smile so much everytime i hear them. i miss Jonghyun so much, even tho i was introduced to kpop a year ago, but i want to remember him happily and not sad. edit: i did cry when we came to 2017 in the video and i cry everytime i watch a video that’s about Jonghyun
As a Shawol, I really encourage all non Shawols not to feel scared or sad of listening to SHINee's songs because of Jonghyun. It is a big shame we lost him, but let's not only remember him for his death, but for his talent and his time with SHINee. Trust me, their songs are SO good and they are worth stanning.
That and they way they looked at the empty place there's so pain in their eyes you can tell he was so much more than just a bandmate or a friend he was their family their brother
to anyone watching in 2021- shinee are back! they released a full album back in february and they’re releasing the repackage TODAY (april 12th). 13 years into their career and still going strong :)
In 2022 we have Key, Minho, and Onew all have released amazing solo work awaiting Taemin's return from service. Shinee is not over, they still have so much left to show! Can't wait to see what happens when these four are finally reunited again.
When he talked about Jonghyun I had to pause the video. Even though he’s been gone for a while... it feels like fresh news. He will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. Please remember that your mental health matters.

I started to get into Shinee around half a year before it happened and on the day it happened I landed in Tokyo and was on my way to Seoul when I heard... It was so sad. Even though some of you didn't know Shinee back in the day it's ok if you feel sad when you hear about it. He was really young and succesfull but really sad at the same time... and every normal person feels at least a little bit sad when they hear about it. It's normal. I know some Shawols are criticizing those kind of people but please don't judge them because...most of them are just really sad...

Jjong leaving us is one of the hardest moments in Kpop history, but dont reduce him to his death, he was more than that. He is one of the greatest voices in kpop if not the best; at least for males. He could dance and sing such hard songs and still gave it all. We must remember him, not as the death SHINee's member, but as the legend he was, is and will be. As soon as I saw the empty microphone I literally started screaming in sadness. I can't help but start balling at the fact that they had the strength to carry the lifeless body of a best friend.
When Jonghyun died, I literally couldn't listen to kpop for 2 years. I was absolutely devastated when I found out and I couldn't stop crying. So I distanced myself. Now here I am again, catching up on all of the tears that I've repressed by refusing to think about him. It wasn't fair of me to do that but I couldn't let myself dwell on it for too long with some events going on at home simultaneously. So I blocked it out. Now I can finally let myself cry and enjoy their music again. As for Onew, Minho, and Key, I will wait however long it takes for them to return safely. Thank you, Jonghyun. I love you. You did well.
I felt the same way when I found out about Jonghyun... It completely broke my heart. I was pretty much in shock and disbelief when I heard about it, I thought it was a lie at first. Then I cried for that whole week afterwards (I'm about to cry now too)... This compounded my pain from losing my father 2 years before, it was just too much. So I took a 2 year break from Kpop all together and focused more on watching films instead. I'm finally starting to open myself up to Kpop again, but SHINee has been a huge part of my life these past 10 years so I still get choked up when I talk about, see videos of, or hear Jonghyun's voice. He and the rest of the boys mean so much to me and I'll allways love all 5 of them.

SHINee are the only 2nd gen 2008 group that hasn't lost a member. Jonghyun is still a SHINee member even in his passing. They did so amazingly well with continuing even through their grief. Even though tere'd be absolutely no problem at all if they chose to take a hiatus or even not continue. Its still sad as the day of the news but I am proud of our fandom and SHINee for handling it all well. Ugh your voice cracking hit hard, it never gets easier to speak about but it has to be done. Jonghyun, Sulli, Hara. Are "only" 3 of millions who suffer not just in Korea but world wide. Depression needs to be taken more seriously :(
I’ve only recently got into Kpop and REALLY recently got into SHINee with “Don’t Call Me” but this video and they’re story still makes me cry They’re music feels so unique and nostalgic it’s such an amazing experience when first listening to it

SHINee was THE group that got me into K-Pop and one that I’ve followed since 2010 very closely. So many memories with them. It’s interesting to see that they never had a Korean comeback in 2011 or 2014 but still managed to have a strong enough fan base waiting for them to return. And here are in the same situation again, we’ll be waiting for their next comeback.
Same, Lucifer got me into K-pop, JongHyun's voice was and still is my favorite in this industry, SHINee is a very talented and unique group, they are strong as well.

No one should ever feel what this man was feeling and so tragically he took his own life. I can see he was truly loved and admired by all who encountered him. Was sitting in class and had a 5 minute break when I got the news of Jonghyun. Was crying my eyes out in class and had to leave school. Stayed at home the day after because I couldn't make myself stop randomly bursting into tears. Worst christmas of my life. Got Jonghyun's last album for christmas by my Uncle the year after and spent the rest of the evening crying in his arms. Couldn't thank him enough. SHINee was my introduction to kpop. First ever song I heard was Lucifer and they have been my ultimate group since then. Jonghyun may not have been my bias but he was a part of my life for around 5 years and I started crying again writing this and I just wanted to say Thank you for everything. I'm only ever gonna get 1 tattoo in my entire life and it's gonna be the rose used after His death directly over my heart because I want him close, always.
Oh my god same! I abandoned them in like 2016 because I thought he was tired then I come back to kpop in September 2019 to find out my childhood role model is gone. It really hurts to this day. I first found them in late 2014 or 2015 I'd say and I loved Lucifer and ring ding dong....

I have a story similar to this, the only songs of shinee is the ones Jonghyun made he wasn't my bias Onew was my bias but on December 18, 2017, I stopped listening to shinee and Jonghyun's songs for a while I was very heartbroken to know one of my favorite members passed away. Due to suicide. I just never wanted him to die I dreamed I met him and he never died and shinee was 5 again but I woke up and realized he's in a better place now.. Rest in peace Jonghyun #YouDidWellJonghyun.

I found this video in trying to further understand the problems that Korean, including celebrities face in their daily lives. To be honest it was minho who introduce Shinee to me..i remember how i really like him from the very first k drama i ever liked (To the beautiful you..) from there i started searching until i found out that he is an Idol..and know the he has this 4 brothers with him...i started to like and be a fan of them..aside to minho it was jonghyun whose always beaan a bias wrecker.. Jonghyun isn't my bias but he's probably the reason why I got interested in SHINee cause Jjong's voice is no other, its beyond amazing and all other words associated to amazing... Mine to when i found out my friends told me and i said no that isnt true i was in total denial because when they debuted i was 3 and ive known them i met them so my friends telling me that i shut down on them and started doing research then my nephew calls telling me that as soon as i go home to put the kbs news i get home and sure enough they said that he died. I literally bought a ticket and went to korea; i didnt go anywhere i just stayed cryung in my nephews room. i was soo sad i cried for days and i suffer from depression and i did multuple attempts. All of them failed because i was always remembered that even if i die i dont know them they probably would forget me the 4 year old who went to their meet and greet gettung lost in the process but somethinf always told me to dont it isnt your time so i said to myself that if he is truely happy with his decision then no matter how much it hurts me i will support it. Because he will always be looking out for his members his family, friends and of course his fans i have to remind myself that so i can survive the day that he is always with us

Even tho I only started liking K-POP just last year, I have begun to adore SHINee, I honestly have a soft spot for them. When his voice started to crack when he was talking about jonghyun it really broke my heart because he suffered for years, every time I hear someone talk about him I start to tear up every time, he seemed to have the most beautiful smile and the kindest heart. I hate that depression does this to people. He did start a movement.
I respect the fact that you’re voice was cracking. It’s damn hard to NOT get choked up. Personally I bawl like a baby. Watching all of his band mates so broken and sad. It’s sad, awful and heartbreaking BUT I need to remember all the beauty that was in his heart and all of their hearts still. Jong Hyun isn’t here on Earth but I feel him free of the pain and shining down on us with that bright smile.

They set trends. With their experimental music they were the first to try out new kpop genres. Set examples of complex dances of kpop while singing it live. Dance practices garnering so much attention. Music one step ahead with colorful discography. Dived in different concepts and were not afraid of change. SHINee contributed lots in paving Kpop too. Princes of Kpop! They deserved more though. Shinee and Taemin's songs were all ahead of time. PEOPLE BETTER NOT SLEEP ON THEM!!
Since Jonghyun’s death I’ve been really sensitive hearing SHINee’s music. I had honestly been avoiding it, but today I let myself listen. From start to finish I cried but this was worth watching because I found out some things I didn’t know previously. Thank you for this video.
@DAM I started getting into kpop through bts in august 2019 and started liking other thans in the start of quarantine but i already know what happened to sulli hara and jonghyun and i tell my friend in october 2019 about jonghyun and sulli but she didn't listen carefully bcoz she hate kpop at that time but then in quarantine she said "My friend please help me distinguish bw bts members" and i helped her and after somedays she says that shinee is soo good and i love jonghyun and i was like.......... you would cry soo much i if i tell you and i tell her that those two peoples i rold you about one was suli and the other was........jonghyun She cried so much and didn't talk to me for like a week but ..... it is soo heartbreaking to see someone who love him but don't know that he is resting in peace
They said on the day of his funeral and on Minhos birthday the moon/ sky turned an aqua colour of blue, which is shinees fan colour. Jonghun suffered and struggled so much, and millions would love to have him here today, but I know he is beaming with pride and watching over his bandmates, friends and family.
I’ve been with SHINee since there debut. I grew up with them. They were my childhood. I went through ups and downs with SHINee. No matter what new groups came out. They were always there and people I had great respect for. I loved their solo activities and I was happy to see each of their growths along with the inside jokes fans had. I will always always remember the day Jonghyun left us and how much it broke me. That was the day I left k-pop tbh. I had seen so many terrible things happen within the K-entertainment industry at that point but his death shattered me. I didn’t come back till this year, 2021. In support of their comeback, I am here. Jonghyun will always be with this group. His influence is still there. These five guys created a vibe that no other group could match with. When you hear a song from them you know it’s their song based on just how it sounded. Jonghyun is resting in peace and I’ll be happy for him. We who are still among the living will support them because that’s what makes Jonghyun’s legacy and hard work shine the brightest.
I got into kpop a little less than a year after Jonghyun's passing. Needless to say, I was shocked and heartbroken. I had just started listening to their music and his stage presence was unlike anyone I've ever seen before, he sung with confidence and he danced with the ability that many dream of being able to do. He touched so many in his short time on earth, and although what happened is extremely heartbreaking and sad I chose to remember him for the impact he made on people and his love for Shinee. His life is truly one to be celebrated and always remembered. Rest in Peace Kim Jonghyun, we all love and miss you.
I haven’t either just the thinking about it makes me cry, seeing him makes me cry, and worst of all I can’t even listen to his voice a few seconds in and I’m holding everything in holding my breath and then I start to choke up. It hurts when you can’t listen to the person most important to you. I haven’t recovered nor make any progress. It’s not his fault cuz I wouldn’t want him to stay and suffer just so I can be happy. Kpop for Life yeah me too. I sometimes can listen to is voice. But not all of the time. I still hurts like it did the morning it happened. I still can’t believe. Maybe because I just don’t want to believe it. I’m not mad at him. But I’m mad the world for taking him from all of us.

I know it's been a longe time since it happened, but everytime I see anything related to Jonghyun, I can help but crying. His and Sulli's death did something to me that I can explain. It made me sad, angry, aware. He had such a beautiful heart and so much talent. I don't believe in life after death or anything spiritual - but I do believe in legacy. He left such a legacy that we will remember forever. Jonghyun and SHINee we'll be forever remembered as kings.

I feel you. I still listen to SHINee's song and have these mixed emotions. Happiness because I love their songs, but sadness because I know Jonghyun is gone. I am never a person who is into celebrities, I feel sad when they die of course. But, I never cry or messes with my emotions. But, with SHINee. It is different. I cried for days and till this day I cry when I see things like this.
"What Happened to SHINee?" 😭😭😭 I balled my eyes out watching this.. Never in the 11 years of following SHINee did I think that Jonghyun wouldn't be here with all of us. Not after meeting him during the Lucifer promotions. He helped me through a dark place, at the end he help others but wasn't helped in return.
I also went to a shinee fanmeet. But in 2016 and Jonghyun was and still is an angel. He was so nice to me. I truly don't think k-pop would be the same if they weren't here they made some much history and I'm just so proud of them. All of SHINee's music age like fine wine. A whole decade after they debuted, new kpop fans still know the iconic songs of such an amazing group and I'm so happy to see this. There were hurdles but knowing that are boys are doing well gives us all motivation. Our leader is back and safe and we will be awaiting the rest of the group 💖

Showing their individual careers (solo albums, dramas, movies, variety shows) and their 2020 comeback Don’t Call Me (which is a big hit) and their soon to be 15th year comeback this May 2023 and future concerts. SHINee strives so hard to get into where they are right now. SHINee must be remembered as Five and a legendary group known for Live performances. They are a perfect example of a group that has a strong bond and conquering all the challenges they have encountered together but remained as a strong group in the music industry delivering high quality songs and performances. They never declined. Their only way is up.

Sharing my feelings ✨ I found kpop in 2013 because of the Fine Bro’s react videos and they reacted to Lucifer 💜 I saw part of their music video and googled the actual MV, fell in love and been with them since forever. As i grew up with shinee since 2010, watching their mv and blasting their song through my sister's laptop after coming home from my elementary school. Jonghyun's passing hit me like a sledgehammer. I kinda get off from shinee world and just keeping up with their songs only when i'm in middle school. Now i regret not keep staying with them before and how many jonghyun's moments i miss. As a Shawol, I really encourage all non Shawols not to feel scared or sad of listening to SHINee's songs because of Jonghyun. It is a big shame we lost him, but let's not only remember him for his death, but for his talent and his time with SHINee. Trust me, their songs are SO good and they are worth stanning.

Even though some of you didn't know Shinee back in the day it's ok if you feel sad when you hear about it. He was really young and succesfull but really sad at the same time... and every normal person feels at least a little bit sad when they hear about it. It's normal.

When Jonghyun died, I literally couldn't listen to kpop for 2 years. I was absolutely devastated when I found out and I couldn't stop crying. So I distanced myself. Now here I am again, catching up on all of the tears that I've repressed by refusing to think about him. It wasn't fair of me to do that but I couldn't let myself dwell on it for too long with some events going on at home simultaneously. So I blocked it out. Now I can finally let myself cry and enjoy their music again. As for Onew, Minho, and Key, I will wait however long it takes for them to return safely. Thank you, Jonghyun. I love you. You did well.
I felt the same way when I found out about Jonghyun... It completely broke my heart. I was pretty much in shock and disbelief when I heard about it, I thought it was a lie at first. Then I cried for that whole week afterwards (I'm about to cry now too)... This compounded my pain from losing my father 2 years before, it was just too much. So I took a 2 year break from Kpop all together and focused more on watching films instead. I'm finally starting to open myself up to Kpop again, but SHINee has been a huge part of my life these past 10 years so I still get choked up when I talk about, see videos of, or hear Jonghyun's voice. He and the rest of the boys mean so much to me and I'll allways love all 5 of them.

SHINee are the only 2nd gen 2008 group that hasn't lost a member. Jonghyun is still a SHINee member even in his passing.
They did so amazingly well with continuing even through their grief. Even though tere'd be absolutely no problem at all if they chose to take a hiatus or even not continue.
Its still sad as the day of the news but I am proud of our fandom and SHINee for handling it all well.

SHINee was THE group that got me into K-Pop and one that I’ve followed since 2010 very closely. So many memories with them. It’s interesting to see that they never had a Korean comeback in 2011 or 2014 but still managed to have a strong enough fan base waiting for them to return. Was sitting in class and had a 5 minute break when I got the news of Jonghyun. Was crying my eyes out in class and had to leave school. Stayed at home the day after because I couldn't make myself stop randomly bursting into tears. Worst christmas of my life. Got Jonghyun's last album for christmas by my Uncle the year after and spent the rest of the evening crying in his arms. Couldn't thank him enough. SHINee was my introduction to kpop. First ever song I heard was Lucifer and they have been my ultimate group since then. Jonghyun may not have been my bias but he was a part of my life for around 5 years and I started crying again writing this and I just wanted to say Thank you for everything. I have a story similar to this, the only songs of shinee is the ones Jonghyun made he wasn't my bias Onew was my bias but on December 18, 2017, I stopped listening to shinee and Jonghyun's songs for a while I was very heartbroken to know one of my favorite members passed away. Due to suicide. I just never wanted him to die I dreamed I met him and he never died and shinee was 5 again but I woke up and realized he's in a better place now.. Mine to when i found out my friends told me and i said no that isnt true i was in total denial because when they debuted i was 3 and ive known them i met them so my friends telling me that i shut down on them and started doing research then my nephew calls telling me that as soon as i go home to put the kbs news i get home and sure enough they said that he died. I literally bought a ticket and went to korea; i didnt go anywhere i just stayed cryung in my nephews room. i was soo sad i cried for days and i suffer from depression and i did multuple attempts. All of them failed because i was always remembered that even if i die i dont know them they probably would forget me the 4 year old who went to their meet and greet gettung lost in the process but somethinf always told me to dont it isnt your time so i said to myself that if he is truely happy with his decision then no matter how much it hurts me i will support it. Because he will always be looking out for his members his family, friends and of course his fans i have to remind myself that so i can survive the day that he is always with us

Even tho I only started liking K-POP just last year, I have begun to adore SHINee, I honestly have a soft spot for them. When his voice started to crack when he was talking about jonghyun it really broke my heart because he suffered for years, every time I hear someone talk about him I start to tear up every time, he seemed to have the most beautiful smile and the kindest heart. I hate that depression does this to people. He did start a movement.

They set trends. With their experimental music they were the first to try out new kpop genres. Set examples of complex dances of kpop while singing it live. Dance practices garnering so much attention. Music one step ahead with colorful discography. Dived in different concepts and were not afraid of change. SHINee contributed lots in paving Kpop too. Princes of Kpop! They deserved more though. Shinee and Taemin's songs were all ahead of time. PEOPLE BETTER NOT SLEEP ON THEM!!

They said on the day of his funeral and on Minhos birthday the moon/ sky turned an aqua colour of blue, which is shinees fan colour. Jonghun suffered and struggled so much, and millions would love to have him here today, but I know he is beaming with pride and watching over his bandmates, friends and family.
I’ve been with SHINee since there debut. I grew up with them. They were my childhood. I went through ups and downs with SHINee. No matter what new groups came out. They were always there and people I had great respect for. I loved their solo activities and I was happy to see each of their growths along with the inside jokes fans had. I will always always remember the day Jonghyun left us and how much it broke me. That was the day I left k-pop tbh. I had seen so many terrible things happen within the K-entertainment industry at that point but his death shattered me. I didn’t come back till this year, 2021. In support of their comeback, I am here. Jonghyun will always be with this group. His influence is still there. These five guys created a vibe that no other group could match with. When you hear a song from them you know it’s their song based on just how it sounded. Jonghyun is resting in peace and I’ll be happy for him. We who are still among the living will support them because that’s what makes Jonghyun’s legacy and hard work shine the brightest.

I got into kpop a little less than a year after Jonghyun's passing. Needless to say, I was shocked and heartbroken. I had just started listening to their music and his stage presence was unlike anyone I've ever seen before, he sung with confidence and he danced with the ability that many dream of being able to do. He touched so many in his short time on earth, and although what happened is extremely heartbreaking and sad I chose to remember him for the impact he made on people and his love for Shinee. His life is truly one to be celebrated and always remembered. Rest in Peace Kim Jonghyun, we all love and miss you.

I haven’t either just the thinking about it makes me cry, seeing him makes me cry, and worst of all I can’t even listen to his voice a few seconds in and I’m holding everything in holding my breath and then I start to choke up. It hurts when you can’t listen to the person most important to you. I haven’t recovered nor make any progress. It’s not his fault cuz I wouldn’t want him to stay and suffer just so I can be happy. Kpop for Life yeah me too. I sometimes can listen to is voice. But not all of the time. I still hurts like it did the morning it happened. I still can’t believe. Maybe because I just don’t want to believe it. I’m not mad at him. But I’m mad the world for taking him from all of us.

Besides the sad death of Jonghyun that made me upset in the video… I heard how sorrow your voice was. It must be hard to try to not to cry uncontrollably in this video. Jonghyun was a amazing idol and we know it. Fly high and thank you Jonghyun 🕊️
I know it's been a longe time since it happened, but everytime I see anything related to Jonghyun, I can help but crying. His and Sulli's death did something to me that I can explain. It made me sad, angry, aware. He had such a beautiful heart and so much talent. I don't believe in life after death or anything spiritual - but I do believe in legacy. He left such a legacy that we will remember forever. Jonghyun and SHINee we'll be forever remembered as kings.

I feel you. I still listen to SHINee's song and have these mixed emotions. Happiness because I love their songs, but sadness because I know Jonghyun is gone. I am never a person who is into celebrities, I feel sad when they die of course. But, I never cry or messes with my emotions. But, with SHINee. It is different. I cried for days and till this day I cry when I see things like this.

I balled my eyes out watching this.. Never in the 11 years of following SHINee did I think that Jonghyun wouldn't be here with all of us. Not after meeting him during the Lucifer promotions. He helped me through a dark place, at the end he help others but wasn't helped in return.
I also went to a shinee fanmeet. But in 2016 and Jonghyun was and still is an angel. He was so nice to me. I told him what's was going on in my life and he did not judge like other people do. he listened and gave me advice. I miss him and I wish I could of have helped him. but now it is too late. R.I.P Jonghyun.

When Jonghyun passed, I had to take a break from kpop for months, it was really tough. I'd seen these boys grow, basically. I started listening to kpop the year they debuted, I'd watched the variety show segments, interviews, their social media; my room was (and still is) covered by posters, and the only kpop group posters I have are SHINee's. I love them wholeheartedly❤

You can tell you are a fan who, like all of us, was deeply affected. It was very beautiful. I especially love the part where you talked about Jonghyun making it to a place where he can rest and be happy. And, like you said, while it is a tragedy, the awareness it brought to mental health and Korea's (I'm sorry, I can't think of the word. Thank you for this video. I've been a k-pop Stan for about a year and I've always wondered what happened to this group. I truly don't think k-pop would be the same if they weren't here they made some much history and I'm just so proud of them. And I will forever remember the member that sadly past away in my heart he left such a legacy that will forever be remembered in k-pop 😔❤

But in U.S. time it was december 17 and the memorial was the 21st if I remember right

All of SHINee's music age like fine wine. A whole decade after they debuted, new kpop fans still know the iconic songs of such an amazing group and I'm so happy to see this. There were hurdles but knowing that are boys are doing well gives us all motivation. Our leader is back and safe and we will be awaiting the rest of the group 💖

Showing their individual careers (solo albums, dramas, movies, variety shows) and their 2020 comeback Don’t Call Me (which is a big hit) and their soon to be 15th year comeback this May 2023 and future concerts. SHINee strives so hard to get into where they are right now. SHINee must be remembered as Five and a legendary group known for Live performances. They are a perfect example of a group that has a strong bond and conquering all the challenges they have encountered together but remained as a strong group in the music industry delivering high quality songs and performances. They never declined. Their only way is up.
I suddenly felt compelled to watch this again after SHINee's comeback. I'm happy that the boys are moving forward and continuing.
