One of the greatest combo reverb delay pedals out there, can't even imagine what they will do with a version 2.
The big shortcoming for me is the expression control, which Henry has said he would address in V2.
@edguyrocks I had a conversation with Henry over a year ago about the difficulties of using an expression pedal with the Specular Tempus, which he said he'd sort out in version 2. At that time, he reckoned it would be a couple of years before he would get around to developing it. He's always open to questions, so you could email and ask him if V2 is in the pipeline.
Your video on the Specular Reverb convinced me to buy one. The second I heard how good it sounded in person I knew I had to upgrade to the Tempus.

I’ve done the individual Specular and Clockwork, and the Specular Tempus is a nice combination of both! That’s also why I decided to this this one in mono into my amp, since the individual videos are direct in stereo
@@collectoremitter oh nice, I’m sure in my “absorb and consume all GFI video content” I’ve watched them both 😂 - I only wish it could do the insane routing/dual thing the Synesthesia could, but that probably isn’t too practical with such lush reverbs 🤷🏻♂️ thanks again for posting this!

I still haven't been able to find a stereo verb pedal I like better. At any price really. All the ambient settings are great of course, but their "Room" algo is actually the absolute best clean subtle reverb in the business. Completely natural and dynamic.
Yeah, the more "simple" realistic algorithms are really where this shines IMO. The room and plate and so fantastic

Best plate I have found so far, I am interested in comparing the plate in this to the CXM but who knows if I will ever get one.
Eventide Space edges this one out for me. Good stuff on the Tempus, but the Space's algo's are just ridiculously great. So much of the ambient stuff in this pedal can be done with just the Blackhole algo. Sounds great though.

Reverb is like bacon, it goes on nearly everything! This is a beautiful pedal. I use it on my Rhodes Electric Piano.

yeah, and you get lost in the tones a stereo pedal delivers in mono, which speaks for itself...
I feel that the kma cirrus and the avalanche run had more personality. Just my2cents.

As someone that hates shimmer reverb, anti-shimmer is my favorite on this pedal. It can be tame and act as a nice sub reverb, or menacing and divebomb. It's cool with augmented 8th chords.

Can the tempus do everything the SR can do? In other words, does it have all the reverb presets as the SR? I could do with a comparison. Thanks
yeah it has the same 8 in the SR + extras (room, plate, nuance etc.)
Yup! The big difference being the interface - more hands on with the Specular V3 and more preset based with the Tempus
Its surely a Strymon killer..
sounds like it needs some warmth, bass and grit. A little too airy for my taste, maybe add some drive into it. BTW, the manual doesn't say a thing about output in mono to the front of an amp like I want to try it.

Yes definitely, and still sounds great

Depends what you're looking for. It's certainly a good contender if you place it up against other multipreset ambient pedals. To me, the best out there is the supermoon. One sound. But I like some of the sounds here
I do think this has some of the best processing out there. Of course it really depends on what you're looking for, because there is no one best
