I really dig Leon’s demos, because he’s not just demoing something with just a single coil Strat on a *clean channel*.
We NEED to hear how stuff rolls, overdriven & distorted.
Just ask the showgazeers!
I've gotta say, the riffs in this video were glorious. That pedal sounds incredibly dreamy.
Definitely an inspiring pedal to jam on
@@LeonTodd have you tried ventris or collider? and how do they compare? :)
You're in 5.1 surround here and I can't compliment you enough. Gynormous space.
Cheers Kendall! 🙂
Thanks Leon! I got my Tempus yesterday, and your video is really comprehensive. Awesome, dude!
Back when this was released i really had the urge to buy it, but it was sold out everywhere.
Since then i found my peace with other gear, but i still crave this thing everytime i hear a demo.
Sounds so lush!
Wow that thing sounds awesome! Love the Black Beauty too, I’m sure that helps a little too lol. Amazing sounds this morning!
I've not heard of this one before.
Lovely and Gorgeous playing and pedal! Thanks for the loan and sharing. Well done and Be Well Leon!
Crazy good hey!
Great review. Great choice of pickups to demo this pedal.
Great demo & playing man. Love the Les Paul too. 👏
Beautiful sounds and beautiful '54 Les Paul
Loveee your demos man. Doesnt help with the GAS killing me.
Lovely intro, Leon. It's a nice pedal in the right hands ;) It really does the lush thing well. Cheers!
Gives the old Bigsky and Timeline a run for their money! Cheers again :)
Leon always gets killer clean tones. Can't say the same for his high gain playing...
Or his general hygiene
great demo
Defo heard Fleetwood Mac there!
Well spotted :)
What a beautiful les paul
What a sweet les Paul man
It's a good'un. The neck pickup is just joy!
I need this pedal!
NICE! one could have a Tumnus before it to drive it, and, you could have a Tumnus-Tempus BEAST! like in 13:02...sweet fire!
How did you connect it? Signal flow? I think this quality reverbs are best after the cab. If you put them on the loop, the cabinet filters some of their magic and details. Are you using axefx for this review?
@Leon Todd ; Check out the "Heavenly Clean 1" preset on the Intellifex ( think Analog Kid programmed it ), it gets very close to the sound of the Specular
nice play....
Totally misread this as Spectacular Tampons, and it certainly is spectacular.
Be happy it's not made by Old Blood Noise.
Damn, that's the nicest Les Paul I've ever seen
Oisin McPhillips it is absolutely gorgeous!
It's crazy nice. 54 Reissue if memory serves me correctly. Pretty stoked to be borrowing it for a little while.
Based on the pickups I would say you are right. I have a 57 Historic triple pickup and I love it
Awesome and great demo vids as usual...They say H9 is apt to a little bit tone suck, making it thin when engaged in Fractal stuffs like FM3. How about GFI this one?....In addition, if you choose one between this device and H9, which way you go?...Thanks!
With either unit the best way to run them is in a parallel loop in "kill dry" mode to avoid tone suck
Yo , Can you do dual delay and reverb at the same time on this ?
Just curious if you have attempted to integrate with your Fractal gear. I have an FM3 and found myself with the Specular Tempus, thinking I should keep it and see about MIDI and FX loop integration? Could also offload quite a bit of CPU and I feel the Specular Tempus has a certain quality of the algo's that differ from FAS in a nice, complimentary way?
It's a pretty great combo. I'd use in/out 2 and add this right at the end of the chain in parallel with the GFI in "kill dry". That will avoid any extra latency and allow for verb trails. Midi it all up and go
That's a great sounding amp, what is it?
Now that it is discontinued i'm waiting for the price to lower (it's proportionally kinda expensive in Brazil). 😂😭
Im Indonesian and i feel a bit ashamed that i didn't have this pedal yet lol jk
Btw that les paul sound awesome as heck 👍🔥
I hope that they'll release a successor
Yeah!
Leon dude! This is an awesome demo. I've been struggling to decide on whether i should fork the money out for this Specular Tempus or the Source Audio Collider. After this demo I'm leaning towards the Specular Tempus. Although I have one question that might alter that which I don't believe was covered in this demo. With this pedal, is there a way to have a preset that has both a reverb and a delay, but turn one off and use the other, or have both on at the same time? If the makes sense.
I noticed when you pressed the B at around 5:38 mark, the mode switches completely and not adding the effect on top of the 'A' set.
So If i had a room pedal with an analog delay. I'd like to be able to press the A button for the reverb only, and then press the delay B to add on top?
There's dual reverb + delay modes but I don't think there's a way to turn off just delay or reverb in those.
@@LeonTodd thanks for letting me know, it will definitely affect my choice at some point. And cheers again for the demo!
I have a Collider. it is a fantastic pedal.. yes, you can do that with it. I run mine in the loop of my Dirty Shirley and it is under MIDI control but you can just use it like you mentioned. Reverb and Delay on/off switches. either or or both. It's very easy to operate, no menus, etc.. great for live use, you don't get deep editing capabilities though. I have owned most of the super delays on the market and the collider does a great job for basic sounding delays but is not a delay junkie pedal so to speak for guys that want super detail and control over every parameter. It does NOT color your dry tone whatsoever.
Hi, what do you think about reverb/delay effects in Fractral Audio AXE FX3 and FM3 comparing to specular tempus?
Put it this way - if I couldn't have an Axe-Fx and I just needed great verbs this is the first pedal I'd reach for.
can you use a reverb algo with a different delay algo at the same time? maybe like shimmer and analog delay as one preset
No, but there are dedicated combination algors
Are you going to demo GFI synesthesia?
does the specular tempus can be used as delay only like the clockwork v3? and also reverb only?
Yes
Do all your guitars have the toggle switch upside down?
A lot of them are like this. keeps me on my toes I guess!
Aw yiss! First in! lol
Can we use this as a mono?
Of course. Just don't expect it to sound quite this wide and lush!
13.05 that's a lead tone
Your guitar is missing some black tape
That's one sure way to tell it's not my guitar :D
Thought I had heard that the verbs were IRs as opposed to algorithmic. Anybody able to confirm if this is true or not?
PS- this things only competition would be eventide. It’s on that level
i jumped on this last year, and it's been just lovely. my only want would be for a longer delay time, but i'm perfectly happy picking up an additional delay downstream somewhere. this pedal is worth more than its asking price, in my opinion. i love everything about it.

Hello, mate. That charmed detuned chord reference is a cover song of "How soon is now" from The Smiths (from 1984).
ua-cam.com/video/hnpILIIo9ek/v-deo.html
It's a slide played over a couple strings, drenched in reverb. Johnny f*cking Marr. 😎
Oh my. This thing sounds ridiculous.
Unreal hey! It's so compact but so mighty
This pedal needs a dual mono mode: delay to output a, reverb to output b. Delay for the main signal, shimmer reverb through a separate amp.
That way, you could use a splitter in front of the Specular Tempus, to add an overdrive to the delay and a volume pedal to the shimmer (both have to be in front of the delay or reverb...
This is the best INDONESIAN made pedal...🍻🍻🍻
And if u notice the sound only suit for a worship guitar player...so much lush...what do you think???
I think you need to listen to more music, mate. "Worship" is not a real genre - It's just ambient music with religious lyrics. There are a ton (tonne) of bands using ambient lush sounds since the 1990's. Check out these bands: Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, The Daysleepers, Ride, Explosions in the sky... This sound is not related to Christian music or religion. The bands I just mentioned are from the "Shoegaze" genre. Go and explore it!
