  • I do enjoy posting image updates on the discord channel but i wanted to give a more in-depth and personal look at the underwater epic I'm currently working on! So here is an unedited, rough look behind the scenes at the madness!
    We just passed the 20 hour mark and it felt like enough progress was made to do an update video on it. Clearly there's plenty more that will need to be finished and even some of the areas that are "done" will still need some cleanup work and edge control passes done. I hope you enjoy this update and stay tuned for the 40 hour mark!

    Very excited to see the final piece. Excellent artistry, it's certainly grand and elaborate like a chandelier.

    I've been oil painting for 10 years but this makes me want to work with graphite again so badly. I started off drawing and this just makes me remember why I loved it so much back in the day 💜

    Tim, what if the bridges are for the sea creatures that don't swim? :o sea slugs, crabs, etc. It could also be a harvesting method for the Mers. Things like muscles, barnacles, coral, and anemones would naturally grow there thus creating a home for other fishies and wildlife!

    Absolute no words to describe how amazingly, wonderfully perfect this is! It looks so gooooood.... But can you imaging having this one as a puzzle, but the same scale as your drawing?! hahahaha that would be one heck of a challenge. Can't wait to see more! Also now I want to be a mermaid to live in the kingdom of this piece XD

      Haha that would be a great idea if i can pull it off. Also an EXTREMELY difficult puzzle to complete!

    quite a bit to comment on. pretty impressive. drawing in that scale, I would say that stylistic drawing people do with brush pens is sort of an area to translate into using graphite. sort of trying to get the most out of how the imagination visualizes and interprets a single movement or mark or line. you mentioned having bridges underwater. my answer is that not everything floats. our work ethic and imagination are admirable.

    About your bridge: People use bridges to cross waters. Maybe mermaids use water bridges to cross air pockets/air bubbles? Maybe like an air moat or something. Just a thought.
    Amazing piece as always

    You have the cutest laugh ever. So is this piece for personal enrichment or going to be for sale or on view someplace special? It seems like it's going to need to last a lifetime once finished lol

    • @vonnart
      @vonnart  3 роки тому +6

      You betcha! It will be similar to a Where's Waldo type idea where I'll include a companion booklet of characters and stories that you can then read about and then try to find in the illustration! =]
