- Quick life update: I'M OUT OF THE GAME! I am no longer working on the ground in the luxury resale industry. I QUIT, and now I'm telling my stories.
I've worked 3 jobs for close to 10 years and I needed a BREAK
I'm of the belief that my peace is the most valuable thing that I have (more than any designer bag). I was lucky enough to let my day job go in this time to protect my own mental health and sanity
For this series, I'm going to be sharing my on-the-ground stories and experiences in working in the industry.
The resale market is CRAZY and it serves all types of diverse people

Oh this was excellent. More, please!!! People’s behavior is so fascinating, and never more than when there is money on the table.
I worked in retail, restaurants, and more service industries. EVERYONE should have to do it. It’s like seeing yourself in all the ugliest mirrors and it will change how you treat people in the service industry at the very least.

I don’t know why you are surprised that people want to knock the price down. That’s normal and most people would do it. Everything is very expensive nowadays …
It’s more about there being a tasteful way to do things. And multiple rounds of negotiation over $50 just feels tacky to me 🤷🏽♀️

lol not exactly. this is the story of the first transaction I ever made and I ended up staying in the business for 9 more years!
btw haggling is pretty common but I would say that it's only typical in smaller boutiques. I can't say this for certain, but larger companies like Fashionphile and The RealReal don't generally accept offers.

Oh and that guy trying to save a dollar, sounds like he was just flirting and wanted to be around you? Negotiating $716 for $700 then $699...... I would have kicked him out the store and told him to go buy a bag from Walmart lol.
And regarding your job situation, sorry you quit- things like that can always be scary & nerve-racking but I'm sure you'll bounce back!
In my humble opinion you should return to modeling and make that your full time career....you're one of the most beautiful all "Natural" women on UA-cam!
