I like the Phil mac fittings because they so easy to use and always inclined to seal first time, especially when use the shears, like you did to create a smooth surface. The brass fitting is probably the job. Do you tape the olives? I always weary about using them, l don't know why. Half inch light gauge is only good for driving cattle!😊 ld have joined with 3/4 and used a 3/4 elbow with 1/2 reducer or a 3/4" baldock. Especially when you have low pressure.
