Very nice video, I have the same and built it myself over 2 years. The lightsabre mechanism broke on mine and I'm waiting on a replacement. It should have a speed control and move a little more smoothly but it is a real talking piece when I have visitors

Where did you get your batteries and what kind did you get that’s the one thing I don’t have. I’m putting led lighting in his interior compartments and some fiber optic wires that glow like a neon tube to look like his internal circuitry and wiring. I also have some extra pieces that were made for him to make him more screen accurate including a restraining bolt to place on him. I don’t want him getting away. I can’t wait to get started but have to wait until I finish moving to my new home in Texas where I will have a room dedicated to my art projects and displaying of my many Star Wars figures.

I was in the midst of working thru Deag to get the bad parts replaced. (i made up about 10 magazine issues that I figured I would need to get replaced) but then the pandemic hit and i lost interest in pursuing it. I bought the whole R2 as a single package from a guy who had collected all the issues but never built it. but because I wasn't the original customer, All I got from DeAg was the run around until I could tell them who the original customer was. and then they wanted to bill and send the issues to him, not me. I had some initial success with the motors and such, but I'm afraid I used the wrong batteries (despite them being the exact ones that were in the pictures used in the instructions )I used the protected type and by the time I had noticed that, and replaced them with the unprotected ones, the damage was done. sorry for the long sob story..

bexzack lit please have a look in the Modelspace forum, there is help. Your problem can have many causes. I think your boards don't get any voltage from the battery box.
