As a massage therapist of 20 years (actor/comic/server) and someone who wants to start my own UA-cam channel when I start making money from it the FIRST thing I will make sure of is getting a weekly 90 min massage. It’s like having someone come and do yoga for you!…All while you let your brain decompress into theta and receive the love that comes from touch. Blood circulation, elongating the muscles and being in a state of receiving (theta-subconscious is open) while your brain is producing oxytocin is priceless. It will ultimately add years to your life but you will be a more effective mother, wife and boss NOW because of it. Find a great massage therapist and receive massages consistently and become the love and peace you seek so that you can enjoy THE JOURNEY. Life is NOW. There is no THERE. Thank you for letting me say what I NEED TO HEAR, as well. I will not wait. I will make myself a priority NOW. 🙏💕
I can’t believe you actually did a video about this - it’s exactly what I asked for and so glad you reply to our questions. Thank you! 😄. Loving your to do list. Very inspiring 👍
YESSSSS. I was homeschooled until high school and that is how my parents structured our learning as well. It was wonderful! A couple hours of structured school and then play and extra reading or helping around the house for the rest of the day. It kept learning fun and didn't cause use to burn out before we hit grade 4.
I love this video. I’m struggling with juggling my full time job, family, pregnancy, being a wife, and having time for myself. This was very helpful and provide a different perspective. I loved the opening, it reminded me that we can’t have it all, but to focus on what are the most important things.
Some other things I have found I am NOT doing to have more time for my priorities include: 1. Limiting surfing social media, shopping apps, and other sink holes that consume hours before I realize it. 2. Cut way back on coffee and lunch dates and texting. Although I am a very social person and this is a sacrifice for me, I realized I was spending lots of time (and money) that I could leverage into my mentoring practice and UA-cam channel. 3. Dropped out of my book club and Bunco group (ouch! Less social time) at least temporarily. These occur in the evening and I discovered I can relax, get to bed earlier and sometimes just sit quietly to relax with a guided meditation (I love the podcast “Just Listening”). Thank you for this very practical and sincere video.
Wow I’d love to hear more about your homeschooling schedule and how you’ve learned how to teach the subjects that encourage them to be self sufficient!
So who takes care of the kids while you work? How do nap times fit in? Do all your kids sleep perfectly? How do you have energy to work out at night? This all seems unrealistic to me
This is GOLD. More than new knowledge, it's very important to gain perspective, I tend to fall back into trying to fulfill others' expectations and forget what's really important for ME, so thanks again Gillian!! My Non-negotiables: 1. Morning time alone to pray and read. 2. Work (both current & creating my ideal job) 3. Cooking healthy meals & clean after. 4. Home workout / Go for a walk 3 times a week to keep my sanity. 5. Keep learning: currently a new language. Things I like doing, but I'll start saying "No" to by focusing on my priorities: 1. Journaling 2. Going to the gym / Practicing a sport. 3. Watching anime. 4. Outings with friends every week. 5. Surfing Pinterest / any Social Media.
I am literally having one of those overwhelming business mom days and this shows up. I have 4 young kids, too. It's a funny dance. One day I feel uber confident and crushing my priorities and the next It's like 'well, I tried' 😆 But I have a similiar priorities schedule, minus homeschooling. I vlog some of it, too. My 2022 business objective is hiring a cleaning person, maybe one who could nanny too. But thanks for sharing 👍
It's so inspiring to hear how you can prioritize the things that are really important, such as your family, while still making significant progress in your own business and career. This makes me hopeful that it's really possible to have a balanced life! Wishing you and your family, and also your business all the best! ✨
I love this kind of video! As a mum of 2 kids and a business owner, I’m always interested to hear how other people juggle everything with their work and family life.
We love you too Gillian! Thank-you for sharing your homelife/worklife balance with us. I loved homeschooling my two kiddos so much! I miss it but I guess they had to grow up eventually ... although the homeschooling never completely stops. My absolute must dos are to take care of my lungs (deep breathing, daily walking with my kiddos, eating healthy 90% of the time no wheat, no dairy, no sugar, LOTS of good oils, veggies, meat and nuts and healthy doses of fruits, just not every day), taking my weekly bath to relax and wind down, doing my meditations/hypnosis/clearing sessions to keep my mind healthy and strong and enjoying every moment of my work empowering families with financial literacy for kids and entrepreneurship skills. My absolute do nots are running myself ragged and ending back in a coma again (simply not an option), swearing, being mean to others. Thank-you for always inspiring us to be our bests Gillian. You are so very appreciated.
Thank you for including what you don't do. I am working in a job I love (science), so I can't and don't want to work at home or less hours, but with a baby on the way I am trying to figure out how to reduce other chores and buy more time for family when the time comes 😊
Your comment about buying back your time really resonated with me. It’s funny because I’ve heard people say this before but for some reason I finally got it this time. I realized that I’ve been looking at doing the cleaning myself as a moral issue, a virtue. But maybe it’s not.
Also I just realized that one of the ways I buy my time is paying for food. I buy healthy food that’s more prepared and you know what, I love it. And that’s ok.
Gillian. Let me just say thank you. I’m expecting my first child and the overwhelming sense of “so much to do, so little time” is already stressing me out. I really appreciate that you shared your approach and that you have a very matter of fact line of what you will and won’t take on.
Hi! I really liked this video. I actually found your list of things you don't do very helpful. Make me rethink a few things in terms of my weekly schedule. Thanks for sharing!
First of all, you are awesome! I think balancing is difficult no matter what stage you are in life, but once you learn to prioritize things and say NO to others, then life will be much smoother.
Thanks a lot Gillian! This video was very helpful and realistic. I've been watching you for a couple of years and read your book. You're one of my favorite UA-camrs! I love how you mesh faith, family and business. I'm a Muslim homeschooling mom and my faith and family are top priorities for me as well. Keep up the good work 👍. Also, I would like to know what you do for child care.
I love this video and topic as well! I am working fulltime and trying to get a business off the ground so that I can be in more control of my schedule and not have to work a fulltime job. We have 2 children at home and started unschooling 2 years ago. Our family loves that as well and definitely creates the flexibility and bandwidth I need. They are almost 12 and 15 which definitely helps as well! Prioritizing my relationship with God is what helps make it all possible 🙏 waking earlier to have that time with Him allows me to get the focus, the energy while getting my heart in the right place. God bless you, Gillian and all of your followers! Grateful for your heart and passion!
I really appreciate your approach with this video! This is a set of principles I am currently trying to implement in my life as I start into a new career, and it's something I never really thought about before. But lately I've felt like I'm always racing the clock to do everything I need to do, and then I don't have time to do the things that I enjoy, that fill me back up. So thank you for making this video! I am journaling through the principles/steps you outlined, and I would definitely love to see more on this topic on your channel! I think the big thing I struggle with is a good way to really plan everything out so I can look at my week, say, and plan out time for things so that I'm not driven by the never-ending to-do list that leaves me no time to relax. Any wisdom you can impart on that facet of work-life balance would be much appreciated!
Gillian, i'll try this, thank you for sharing. i raise 2 kids, full time work at office and i'm taking care of my mother too. these days i fell exhausted mentally and physically ..
❤ a lot of people think that working from home is easy. They couldn’t be more wrong. It’s hard to leave work at work when you work at home. And especially if your mom. Great job juggling everything!❤
I'm not a native English speaking, and at first i watched this video just to improve my English😊 , but I'm lucky that i could understand what you have said❤, because those tips changed my life ! as i listend to you carefully , especially about the non negotiable things. thank you🌷
Hi Gillian, being a working/entrepreneur mom is no easy task, and sharing your reality makes all of us understand that something will have to be sacrificed to get things done, thanks for sharing. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I'd love to know more about your fitness routine, I tried early in the morning and realised it fits better in the afternoon for me too. Thanks and congrats for the great work!
Love this and as a business owner and homeschooling mom setting my priorities (and keeping the list small) was so important in keeping me successful and feeling in control. And as a personal trainer I can tell you that the perfect time to exercise is the time you will be able to get it done, and works best for you. I was a nighttime exerciser for a while when my kids were younger. Was it ideal? No BUT it’s when it worked best for me and I was consistently getting it done. Thanks for sharing this video, I always enjoy seeing how others structure their days.
Hii Gillian, I am totally waiting for your 1 week later video it will really help me for sure. For next week's idea please make sure that you also cover skill-based business like video editing or 3d artist or graphic designer or any skill-based business ideas to can make it from zero to $100000 business or else don't forget to cover skill-based parts other than money. No question money is important but I want to follow my passion and earn money so for that keep in mind accordingly. Thank you so much for sharing valuable content. Excited for next week's video. For then stay happy and safe.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Hearing how you schedule and prioritize things such as family and work gave me a good idea on how to handle work/ life balance :) Agree on how we can’t have everything even if we can do anything XD
I just recently started a new full-time 9-6 Job and it takes up all my day I think I'm going to start trying to find a part-time i can't seem to fit alot in my schedule 😅
Hey its amazing how you balence everything, for real echte props! If you want to teach your kids later on about life choises Life is strange is a very good game to let them understand how to make choises to cirmumstance ratio! Thanks so much for what you doo :D
Is it possible to have a full time job, run a business and look after kids. While you have a husband who works in the evening? I'm in a weird position where my husband is away alot he is a chef. It's my dream to start a business but I need to have a full time job to earn a certain amount of money for sure. And I need to look after my child in the evenings when he isn't at school. I don't really find I have alot of time I'm often stressed and don't get much time for me. Do you have any tips for productivity and finding time for someone like me?
This is still very confusing . What I got from this is you pay for cleaning (which can often take max an hour a day and most people don’t do it daily)… most women don’t have time for massage or nails or hair regularly anyway (most don’t do it for years)… and regarding movies and UA-cam, again lots of sahm watch these things while doing the cleaning and cooking etc.. so I still don’t understand how this helps you manage homeschooling and working. I’m sure you’re getting help in some other avenue, either it’s from your partner or paying someone to do some of the content/editing etc for you.. and you probably got really lucky that your kids can crack on by themselves most of the day and probably sleep through the night! Please be more transparent about these things. The average mom who homeschools doesn’t have 20 hours extra to also work, at least not without someone helping with the kids in some capacity. Just preparing and cooking and then washing the dishes after can be 2 hours minimum each day. So what are the kids doing during this time? While you’re working 4 hours a day approx, what are the kids doing during this time? And how was anything achieved during the the first 6 months when you can’t just leave a baby to themselves? Sorry I still think there’s a lot of confusion about how it really is all done 🙈
What would be on your list of "Things you don't do?" Let me know in the comments! ⬇

Thank you for mentioning your Bible study. I love it when people with secular content don’t shy away from mentioning their faith.

Yes!!! Saw the title and am so so excited - this is the content I want to learn more about from you. Thank you! Okay, off to watch!
Your home schooling has set you up for a very organised life!! Very encouraging.
Hi! I really liked this video. I actually found your list of things you don't do very helpful. Make me rethink a few things in terms of my weekly schedule. Thanks for sharing!
My top priorities are, time to work on my business, time to make/eat healthy food, and time to go for walks in nature.
When you're doing your block of work, who looks after or babysits the kids, especially the younger one?
How You manage to do the other meals than the breakfast and dinner? What kids do when You work? Nice if Your kids don't have hobbies, it saves time :)
Loved this video! As a homeschooling mom and business owner myself I could relate to a lot of what you mentioned!
Thank you for watching! ❤️

Thank you for sharing your week and day schedule. It helps to see how other mompreneurs are balancing life and work.
Hi Gillian, definitely I'd like to see a video on how to do homeschooling with the kids, I mean knowing the process, details and hints. Thanks!
Gillian, i'll try this, thank you for sharing. i raise 2 kids, full time work at office and i'm taking care of my mother too. these days i fell exhausted mentally and physically ..
Thank you Gillian Perkins . This vidéo is very helpful in time management. I appreciate it very much. I want to focus more on this for 2022. :)

You are a busy women, but you still make time. You are living proof that you can do whatever you put your mind to!
Unfortunately I have to work 40 hours or more in my 9-5. I’m working owning my own business and freeing up more time for myself.
Having someone come clean my house is a huge goal for me lol I’ll get there!
A very put together video. It's got some great information. Thanks for sharing.
Love this thanks for sharing! I'm wondering if your husband is with your children while you're working or if you have other childcare. Thanks

Thanks for being honest. That was realistic!!
I’d love to see a video on your experience/schedule/tips for running a business with a newborn to age one!
Great advice Gillian!
Thanks so much for sharing this. Hearing how you schedule and prioritize things such as family and work gave me a good idea on how to handle work/ life balance :) Agree on how we can’t have everything even if we can do anything XD
Can you share your homeschool curriculum or share more about how you teach???
I love your hair. Thanks for the tip
I just recently started a new full-time 9-6 Job and it takes up all my day I think I'm going to start trying to find a part-time i can't seem to fit alot in my schedule 😅
You are so intelligent and practical
Love your channel!
I totally agree. Self care is not the same to all. It's frustrating when people even husband's force their ideas of self care on you.
Hey its amazing how you balence everything, for real echte props! If you want to teach your kids later on about life choises Life is strange is a very good game to let them understand how to make choises to cirmumstance ratio! Thanks so much for what you doo :D
Great advice thanks
What's the nature of your work?
Really worth listening 👍
I wish theres something for single moms
Lots of love From my side 💞 as well as my UA-cam Family members 🤞
Love you from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Wonderful ❤
My day sounds similar...how much screen time do you give the kids.
I do it wrong. When I feel overwhelmed i skip the boring things instead of skipping the not important things
How do your kids learn music?
I don't use social media. We do not have a lot of time to waste.
Is it possible to have a full time job, run a business and look after kids. While you have a husband who works in the evening? I'm in a weird position where my husband is away alot he is a chef. I did apply your free class but no response from you. , thanks any.
The version of this that I've heard is: "you can have everything, but you can't have everything all at the same time." haha
Can you do video about copyright things on youtube?
Thought about finding a cleaning service. With a dog, probably that's out of the question as it becomes hairy in a day or two. :)😂
Thanks 😘
You are the ideal mother and wife.
Can you show is how you hair done?? I love your waivy hair...
1x(3/30/22)…1…done excellent
Love this video! Can you please share your high impact exercise routine someday? Would love to learn how to be more effective with my workouts!
You are very genius
This is not relatable for a corporate working mother. 20 hours a week is not full time. Lol.
Yep I am fucked I am in consulting
Really enjoy the videos now where do I find a girl like you :)
So your husband just does dishes?
My kids are adults now. I'm not much of a Christian person. I don't excercise. Tho I could take walks.
hope you a good day and happy life, If you don't mind I suggest you to read CORAN try to do it you lose anything good luck
Work listen to kids recovery
no time with your husband in your daily routine? ouch!

The average mom who homeschools doesn’t have 20 hours extra to also work, at least not without someone helping with the kids in some capacity. While you’re working 4 hours a day approx, what are the kids doing during this time? And how was anything achieved during the the first 6 months when you can’t just leave a baby to themselves? Beautiful woman
Мы организуем сбор денег,чтобы найти тебя где бы ты не находилась,ты ответишь за всё!!! Перкинс!!!
I watched until you sId you work for 20 hours a week......this won't be helpful to me lol..
