I always took my favorite concrete block that I like to sit on around the campfire. I do believe I would be miserable without it. Also the cast iron fire ring fits perfectly with it.
I'm close, like you said the observations are on point. But I want to laugh at them too, not just kinda nod and snicker a bit. Like "yea, seen that too" Anyway, I'm not a professional, he will likely figure it out and start knocking out some home runs soon....
fantastic. don't forget the cast iron pans, yes pans, you can never have too many. also the 3 lb dinty moore beef stew can should be everyones emergency standby extra meal. Finally a 10 step plan that dovetails with my modus operandi. i feel so vindicated.
@@Adventure_Together I enjoy the wading. It’s more of the 300 miles of road walking, terrifying locals, radical Christian hikers preaching to you, gunshots in the distance, hunters on trail, confederate flags and consistently horrible weather that gets to you.
Great video. Thanks Got a few laughs. Misery loves company. The only companion of contentment is disenchantment. There will always be competition. Happy Trail! Or Misery. Which ever you prefer.
Bro just went on my first hike and I invited a couple buddies who are solid at hiking and had done the trail before. They did not want to take breaks ever and for some reason wanted to get back at 1 rather than relax and take in the nature and get back a couple hours later. Was a horrible experience
We don't have a lot of bears in the area I hike in, but we do have lots of fire ants and raccoons. One of my favorite things to do to keep myself occupied in the mornings is to leave my food bag on the ground the night before. The time spent picking aggressive biting ants out of my food bag is annoyingly meditative.
@J R I noticed more then a few thru hikers I met last year that are still posting some content and it is very boring. Probably because I didn’t experience the same thing. I didn’t do the UA-cam deal. Just enjoyed my hike.
I think I scored at lease a 98% on this test! Rad. I only broke my foot 1x from having a 60lb pack and me being 60lbs overweight and had to take 7 weeks off so that was awesome. No better feeling than loosing your trail family. The only thing keeping your spirits high enough to continue. Would recommend to any people wanting to be miserable. Don’t forget you will need at least three 20000mah battery packs. You know, for all the electronics you you need.
You deserve thousands of followers from this video alone! One of the funniest videos I’ve seen in a very long time:) good luck with algorithm magic, and happy (or miserable:) trails bro!
Rather over-enthusiastically trying to show everyone in came the chaffing on your upper thigh? The evidence of your suffering must be witnessed by all.
I was thinking more along the lines of the backside chafing. Don’t forget about the importance of under sized shoes, they are lighter and after your toenails fall out your feet will be lighter and you can send home the toenails clippers as well,
Eat mashed potatoes and only mashed potatoes for your whole hike. Passive-aggressively gawk at other hikers’ food but don’t ever buy anything different or mix up your trail nutrition for max misery. If you get hurt, definitely don’t get rest or medical care. Just keep hiking on it but complain a LOT to anyone who will listen. Be sure to tell other hikers how they’re doing it wrong. Loudly and frequently! 😅😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gotta make sure you have the worst, most busted goodwill shoes possible for those really rainy days! (See the video I made on my channel showing ya my shoes for the upcoming 1200 mile trip!)
Dont forget to ignore permits so that when you finally arrive back at your car with a huge sigh of relief, you get to experience that perfect ending of a perfect trip, a $fine from the government for using the services that your taxes have paid for.
I'm going to ignore common sense and go hike the JMT without proper rain gear with the final words upon quitting being "it's California...it's not supposed to rain"
I don't know man, I love the premise behind the videos, etc. But something in the delivery is missing.... Perhaps it's your British accent making us Americans think you are just being a pretentious arse instead of being tongue in cheek. Maybe dress up as one of the knight s who say nee or something, somehow give us some slapstick. I'm not sure exactly what, because the observations are very on point, so it's gotta be somehow in the delivery that just doesn't get me laughing.... Can I ask where you originally hail from? Dry British comedy can be enjoyed by us, but we still remade The Office with Steve Carell....
@Adventure Together I hope you don't think I'm trolling you or anything, I'm actually here to learn and I'm not a pro, just giving my opinion. I do wish you much success, the road you are on I think is the right one. Maybe just drive a clown car instead of a Jag
I didn't read your comments like a troll at all, and I'm not offended 😊 I'm not a comedy professional, and like you, I'm learning what's funny and not. I just aim to make videos that I'd enjoy watching.
"40 miles a day is brilliant, but 40 miles day on 2 hours of sleep is even better!"
I love this video- and you
Haha, love you too, Stone Age!
I always took my favorite concrete block that I like to sit on around the campfire.
I do believe I would be miserable without it. Also the cast iron fire ring fits perfectly
with it.
All are essentials and should really be part of the base weight. If you don't have a pet brick, what are you doing with your life?
I was crying from laughter not even halfway through! great entertainment-thank you
Glad it brightened your day! 😊
Brilliant Trail Sarcasm. Loved it! Can't wait to push all 10 items to the max. Most helpful tips I've seen so far.
Do it! You won't be the first to try 😂
Lol
Have not heard this approach before. Excellent.
It's a popular way to do it. Some people take these steps without even trying 😆
Come on people! We need to get this guy over a thousand subscribers He is always on the money with advice and his opinions.
Thanks for the support!

The pans are a classy touch. If we ain't cooking in the way of the old pioneers then are we really camping?
Just hike the Florida trail! Miserable for even the most experienced backpacker!! I’m 800 miles into it currently and can’t remember what joy is like
Lol poor baby.
Lol poor baby.
Yeah, seems like less hiking and more wading 😳
@@Adventure_Together I enjoy the wading. It’s more of the 300 miles of road walking, terrifying locals, radical Christian hikers preaching to you, gunshots in the distance, hunters on trail, confederate flags and consistently horrible weather that gets to you.
THERE"S 800 MILES OF IT!!! without a single hill? I'll never get it.
Excellent! Really enjoyed the video...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. Thanks Got a few laughs. Misery loves company. The only companion of contentment is disenchantment. There will always be competition. Happy Trail! Or Misery. Which ever you prefer.
Competition? Now, the pressure is making me miserable.
Bring a hiking partner who won’t slow down…ever…or consider what speed other hikers with him are comfortable with.
I feel attacked 😂😂
Bro just went on my first hike and I invited a couple buddies who are solid at hiking and had done the trail before. They did not want to take breaks ever and for some reason wanted to get back at 1 rather than relax and take in the nature and get back a couple hours later. Was a horrible experience
Bring a large cast iron pan.
And a backup.
The whole kitchen set. You never know when you might want to make a Moussaka.
Love this video! Its so true but funny with it!
Thanks. I'm so happy that you enjoyed it.
Fantastic. Can’t wait to get started now that I know. 😂
Preparing for failure is the only way to succeed 😂

LOL!!! I laughed so hard the whole video! Thanks man!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You're hilarious. 😂
Loved this.
Thank you 😊
This is hilarious! Spot in for your ten points!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great job on the video, I love the sarcasm! Is there a reason Red Panda made it into so many shots 😂😂
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Red Panda is a legend, and I am happy to give him screen time.
actually laughing at each one. this is priceless
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
This is the best vlog I've ever watched! That was great! I'm going to watch this once a week through my whole 2023 AT Thru-Hike! Love it!
Make sure that you keep up those anger and stress levels. Nothing makes a hike more worthwhile than self-imposed adversity!
@Adventure_Together Lol. Good stuff! What are you hiking next?
@VegasJaydonAT2023 PCT this year! Woop woop! Good luck on your AT hike.
@@Adventure_Together Awesomeness! Can't wait to see the vlogs. And thank you. I leave for ATL in 9 days. 😀
11. Film yourself constantly while hiking so that you can start new career as a hiking UA-camr.
No misery in that. How about trying to be a UA-camr and failing 😭
OH MY God yes.....definitely do that. That'll make friends fast
@J R I noticed more then a few thru hikers I met last year that are still posting some content and it is very boring. Probably because I didn’t experience the same thing. I didn’t do the UA-cam deal. Just enjoyed my hike.
I loved this and got a number of good laughs! Thank you.
This is serious, Jim. Got to maximize the misery points! 😂
Brilliant and hilarious. Thanks for the creative spin.
I'm happy you got a laugh out of it!
How could you do this with a straight face????
Love it
Glad that you enjoyed it 😊
Upper Goose Pond Cabin is a whole half mile off trail !!!! I'm pushing on !
Free coffee, pancakes and the coolest place to stay on trail isn't worth the 0.8 round trip 😅
Hiker Steve would have been great at this subject. Haha
He'll be back at some point. Maybe on the PCT!
Brilliant!
Thank you

That's so lovely to say, thank you.
this video made me really stressed out and i hated it but i loved it.
Mission accomplished 😌
I see a lot of type 2 fun going on here.
The fun is in the gloating when it's all over.
This is f&$@ing brilliant!!!
Glad you like it, Doc. Got to help people enjoy the misery!
Really Was! I loved it! Seriously my favorite UA-cam video ever. And I have my own channel. Lol
I also recommend packing so little food that on the last day you are down to eating your toothpaste because you are so hungry.
Like a minty peanut butter
@@Adventure_Together The video almost makes itself. “Cold soaked toothpaste bomb - The ultralight light hikers new favorite meal”
😂
I love hiking in shoes that are to small!
I also strive to have the worst case of chaffing on the trail and am willing to snow anyone that will look.

Amazon sells Anti Monkey Butt powder. There’s a good line or two there as well.
This is so funny 😂
Thank you 😊 I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Feel free to share it around.
Great video!!
Thank you!
Im planning to walk the width of the AT.
Ambitious 😂
Misery is good for you
More misery = Better hike
I'm bringing nothing but peanut butter and tortilla wraps.
Two luxury items, I see 🌮
You are a like the Russel Brand of Hiking!
He has better outfits than I do 😅
Love it!!!

Brilliant!...I'll be sure to follow none of these!
Perfect, never take advice from UA-cam hikers. Always do the opposite 😂
How else can hikers hope to be miserable?
Hilarious 😂
Appreciate your support 🙂
You are awesome!
You're awesome too, Jim. Thanks for the support!
wait what is supposed to close
If you can get your pack to close, you're not carrying enough food! 😅

Great idea! Walking around while sulking and saying, "I thought California was in drought. Why am I wet and cold? This is bullshit 😤"

The struggle is real 😂
The number 1 thing to make you miserable on trail is going with a wife or girlfriend.
It works both ways in this instance. Two miserable people for the price of one.
