In this video I watch more KPOP for the first time as I continue my newfound KPOP journey. Unfortunately, these videos did not have much (if any) subtitles so there wasn’t much I could react to besides the visuals ( which I was too captivated by to interrupt). They are considered as a boy group, but in fact they are a MEN GROUP. They are called beastly idols, for their mature and sexy image. Monsta X are a group of talented people, they have 4 singers and two rappers, but even rappers can sing!
I suggest you to watch a live show of them, before watching more MV. I can suggest you Monsta X Beastmode and Love Killa performance from MAMA 2020 (they all sing and dance live). After that I suggest you “Fantasia” MV, it’s an amazing song and the choreo is fire!

I know that kpop it’s surreal at first, I still remember when I first discovered kpop in 2012, I was amazed by all of this, It’s a complete different world, but once you get into, you will never escape ahaha It’s amazing, I’m glad you started this journey now.

They just had a comeback called “fireworks” and it’s just so good. I don’t see enough comments about Monsta X here so I‘ll tell you some stuff about them. By the way, thanks for the reaction!
So Monsta X is a 6 (originally 7) member boy.. no actually men group. They debuted on May 14th 2015 under the label Starship Entertainment. They’re also signed to a Japanese and an American label. They’re pretty unique in kpop and they are also sometimes named as the ambassadors of ‘noise music’ which is their signature sound. Honestly Love Killa wasn’t that noisy but as a Monbebe (the fandom) I love the noise. But their b-sides have the softest songs ever so you should really check out their diversity!
These men have done a lot of amazing things. Next to all the hard work they put in every single month they do charity, connect with their fans to reassure us and release music without an end.
I’ll give you some numbers...so they debuted about 6 years ago right? In that time they released 9 korean mini albums, 4 full korean albums, 9 Japanese singles, 2 (3 in may) japanese albums, the first English album in kpop in a decade and Soundtracks, Mixtapes, Solo Albums, Collaborations, Singles and more. That’s a total of ~300 songs in 6 years...nice right?
Just in 2020 the group members made it in a total of 26 korean fashion magazines, not to mention that they only started in May. In 2021 it’s not getting less.
If they don’t release new music there’s something else going on. We just had a online fan concert, 2 days in a row, a few weeks ago, now they’re releasing the next Fanclub. One of the members has a role in a korean Netflix horror drama, the whole group are models for the cosmetic brand Urban Decay, they are ambassadors for the international anti corruption conference and promote Togetherband.
They charted on Billboard various times now. From 2017-2019 they had three big world tours, after they weren’t able to go on tour in 2020 because of covid they went to various online concerts, just them and together with other groups. They participated in every single award show at the end of 2020, getting many performance awards, a best group award and the long awaited Daesang, which is the highest award you can get.
All members are amazingly talented, they produce their own music, write lyrics, choreograph dances, design merch, model, act, they have a DJ and all of them can sing and dance soooo good.
Monsta X isn’t really underrated, they’re more under appreciated but I hope that will change in the future. I hope you can react to them more soon, they deserve all the attention and I think you will love them a lot!

YAS! mamamoo are queens....their vocal game is STRONG...like STRONG...this wasnt one of their most vocally driven song...but its such a bop...the one whose energy you liked...her name is Hwasa...prononounced hw-a-sa...this song was directed at the media...as they are stars the media always criticizes their dressing sense,saying they dont look pretty without make up and such things...so this was a solid clapback saying that say whatever you want...WE DONT CARE...mamamoo has a lot of this powerful energy...here are some of their songs:egotistic,gogobebe,aya,dingga,starry night

thank you for reacting to monsta x!! their style is like no other kpop group and they are very unique in general which is just one reason why i love them so much. they are known for having darker concepts and and for having pretty intense sounds for their title tracks (i recommend reacting to shoot out, beautiful, follow, fantasia, or alligator)
they have an entire album in english and have mvs for a few of the songs on that album too (who do u love, middle of the night, someone’s someone, you can’t hold my heart). i would love if you’d react to more monsta x since they are very under appreciated for how talented and amazing they are overall. (they also have a song with steve aoki in all english called ‘play it cool’)
i would also suggest you to also react to wonho, a former member of monsta x who recently debuted as a solo artist! he has his debut song, ‘open mind’ and his most recent release called ‘lose’!! ❤️

Honestly they really are unique. I’ve been listening to a lot of different K-Pop music recently and Monsta X truly have a very distinct sound and twist to their music (including B-sides). That’s not saying they are superior to other groups but I am glad that they’ve gotten a good amount of success despite making music and releasing title tracks that are pretty different from what most people enjoy these days (and back then). I hope for more success to them in the future 2020 was their best year by far and it looks like they are only improving despite being nearly a 6 year old group.

I got re-introduced to kpop with Monsta X i stopped listening years back because it started using heavy edm which i didn't like, but after monsta x i started listening to groups again, which is ironic since Mx is known for using heavy edm lol. But their sound really is very different from other groups. It is very distinct. Fatal Love is by far their best work and i'm really surprised that they still manage to surprise fans and i'm all here for it.

I LOVE MONSTA X probably more than I should. My daughter and I have tickets for their show in April that we originally bought for last years tour but they rescheduled it. If they cancel again this year I'm going to be so disappointed.

Your reaction was like mine when I first heard ATEEZ they're so unique to be honest I don't know there is something special about them
Ateez (ay-teez. Like - 80s) are amazing. You need to start their videos at the beginning and do them in order. The member you pointed out with the deep voice in Mingi. He is on hiatus currently for health reasons. What you are talking about with Monsta X and how they sound different from other kpop groups is that Monsta X can be polished, but they can also put a lot of grime and darkness in their songs. Many groups prefer to be more polished and clean in visuals, video behavior etc. I think Big Bang really brought the grime with their hip hop and set that example. Other groups like Monsta X are Straykids, Ateez depending on the song. Jessi. KARD. Suga and RM in their solo work. A.C.E.
If there is one girl group in kpop I say stan, it’s Mamamoo. They have all gotten crap for not fitting female standards. Hwasa (short hair, voice you like) has had so many people body shaming her. Solar gets discredited for being really pretty. Hwasa told everyone that if she wasn’t to their taste they can move on. Solar shaved her head.

Monsta X captured me a couple of years ago and I haven’t looked back! I love their more mature concept and unique sound and they are so prolific with their releases that I can barely keep up with the new content on a daily basis! Hope you react to more, their newest Japanese release “Wanted” is a bop so I recommend that next. Other hard-hitting songs include, Follow, Shoot Out, Fantasia, Spotlight, Alligator. More chill songs (in English) include Middle of the Night, Someone’s Someone, Who Do U Love, and You Can’t Hold My Heart.
Also, check out Wonho’s solo “Lose” if you can handle a little sexy, he is the closest thing to a real superhero (in both looks and personality) that you will ever find!
Finally, Ateez is also a great group to check out more. Although I am not a part of their fandom, they have several songs on my K-POP favorites PL, Inception is one of them👍🏻 My other favorites are Thanxx, Answer, Utopia and Dancing Like Butterfly Wings. Cheers!

I’d say since you found a few groups you really like here in this video, just explore them more. Start with Pirate King and come forward in order for Ateez (or you can start predebut with their three KQ Fellaz performance videos but still go in order for the rest of the MVs). For Monsta X I recommend Alligator, Hero, Shoot Out, Follow, Fantasia. They did an amazing cover of Bruno Mars’ Versace on the Floor oh my God it’s so good. Mamamoo...I recommend gogobebe, Aya, Dingga, Starry Night.
