    Hey y’all! Welcome to my channel !
    In this video, I continue my new journey into KPOP/BTS. This video was highly requested and I am glad it was suggested to me! I learned so much more about BTS and fell in love with them even more. I know something is wrong with the very end. I’m sorry idk what happened (editing noob). I basically expressed my love for bts as a group and how good they are both on the inside and out. As always, Be sure to comment down below on what I should react to next!
    (Anime???) (Blackpink???) (Live performance???)

    Sorry if this becomes long. I am a 67 year old Army, and no, I'm not a cougar, I think of them like grandkids, and I'm a proud grandma. I discovered this amazing group on Sept. 13, 2015 (yes I remember the day) while watching a you tube channel called react. They had had SEVERAL episodes on you tubers react to Kpop, which I watched. They showed the BTS video Dope. Something about that video really grabbed my attention, so I started exploring. Now I'm so far down the rabbit hole that I no longer see daylight. I am so very impressed with their talent, personalities, and their sincere love for their fans. As for the Beatles, I was NOT a fan of their earlier work ( I know I'll get hate from Beatles fans, but I'm a big girl, so bring it on) but did like their later songs and their solo songs. Sorry that I'm rambling. I just love these 7 boys so much, and am so proud of them. I want everyone, young and old to get to know them and realize how very special they are. As for the hate, well, hate has been around since the beginning of time. It's impossible to stop it. Some people are just so narrow minded and ignorant that they can't see anything past their own misguided beliefs.

    Thank you for saying something about the Asian hate recently. It means a lot to me as a Korean. I've seen a lot of people be against #stopasianhate because they support black lives matter but the two aren't mutually exclusive. It's important to support each other no matter what

      At the end it's about humanity. Everyone deserves at least respect and savety from violence. If you think that balck lives matter than you shouldn't be ok with them acting violent to Asian people. Because this will not only hurt the Asian victim but also the black person and the black community as well.

    I only cry for sports and funerals but BTS....I drop a tear in a second. My proudest memory/moment of being Army was Black Lives Matter. Army donated whatever they could. Even if it was $1, they still donated. It meant so much to me that I donated half of my paycheck. I am so happy that I love BTS. The best day of my life is when I discovered them (April 13, 2019). I can honestly say that they are the main reason for my happiness. 💜 I can't wait to see more of your reactions!

    Not sure if someone has told you but I want to make sure you know about a special things that BTS and ARMY share. We will say I PURPLE YOU or BORAHAE. V made this our thing on Nov 13, 2016 during his talk with ARMY during a concert he asked if we knew the meaning behind the color purple. He said that because PURPLE is the last color of the rainbow it means I love you and trust you for a long time. He then giggled and said he had just made it up. But the Korean words “bora” (bola보라), which means purple, and “saranghae” (salanghae사랑 해) which means I Love You were mashed together to create BORAHAE (I PURPLE YOU) and it became a special way for BTS and ARMY to show our love to each other and PURPLE became our official color as well....so to end I am grateful you found the guys and have come to love them. Welcome ARMY..BORAHAE 💜💜💜

    Real ARMY doesn't call them "Beyond The Scene". That's just a name that the group had to come up with because Westerners wouldn't make the effort to understand or pronounce "Bangtan Sonyeondan". Bangtan Sonyeondan is important because of it's meaning - to help people be bulletproof against life's hardships. Your pronunciation was great.

    15:40 Do not feel bad for crying, I did too when the news dropped. As someone who is black, you always hope that your favorite artists would support you and see you for who you are but having tangible proof in that way, especially amongst all the increased violence from last year, was a very emotional moment.
    Watching these guys be some of the most loving public figures I have witnessed while also seeing the vitriol that gets thrown their way is heartbreaking all the time.

    I kind of peripherally knew about BTS before the BLM donation (I'd seen Carpool Karaoke when it first came out and thought they were cute and funny) but hearing about that is what led me to look at them more in-depth, and I fell hard down the rabbit hole. I'm a full-on ARMY now, and I adore them all. If you get into watching their other content - the BANGTANTV YT channel, the docuseries (multiple at this point), Run BTS, In the Soop, etc - you get a good look at their personalities and how they fit together. It's really endearing, and all of them are so, so funny in their own ways. I've cried over them, cried *with* them when they're upset on the shows, ugh. I'm also one of those people in their 30's, haha. But I'm now ARMY through and through.

    They're compared to the Beatles, not because of their musical styles but because both the Beatles and BTS are foreign bands that have invaded (and dominated) the American music industry. The Beatles are from the UK btw, just in case you weren't aware.

    @Tianna B, since I’m older army I do remember the Beatles the Beatles are from United Kingdom Britain and specifically Liverpool England they became to America And started the British invasion in The Music Of the 60s with their popular boy band hits like” I want to hold your hand “”love me do “a hard days night! “ They were on the Ed Sullivan show which at the time would be like the biggest show you could ever be on to be promoted on and they had an incredible Fanbase! Suga wanted to let everyone know that they respect the Beatles and they don’t want to be compared to the Beatles because during that time,The Beatles were considered The boy band of that era! Suga said that BTS want to make their own way without comparisons they wanna do their own hard work without being represented by any other musical group except for BTS! BTS has respect for other artist and they do not have any competition when it comes to comparisons with other musical groups there in a class by themselves they’re not even really consider K-pop because they do other genres of music! Tianna B i’m so glad that you are part of army that you’re going on this journey and you’re making an effort to understand who really BTS is! Maybe one day I’ll see you at the concert take care God bless you and like V would say “ I Purple U💜✌️

    A really famous Beatles performance was on the Ed Sullivan show (the original Late Night show) where they were “introduced” to the US. Stephen Colbert replicated that for BTS on his Late Night show for “Boy with Luv” and it’s an amazing performance.

    BTS are compared to the Beatles in terms of impact and achievements: BTS had 3 n°1 albums (The Love Yourself series) on the Billboard 200 in less than a year and the last artists who did this were the Beatles in 1995-96 🤗
    We all get what you felt watching this video, I think we've all been there ^^
    BTS has a great impact all over the world, not only with their great lyrics and songs but also with the way they behave themselves and share their values: love and kindness, for others but also toward yourself 💜

    There is so so so so SO much content. Everyone has a dif journey of discovery. Rather than getting overwhelmed with how much there is, think about how cool it is that you will never run out of things to watch.
    One fun suggestion is In The Soop. It's one of their shows and it's recent while in the beginning of quarantine. It's really like chicken soup for the soul.

    Hi Tianna, I'm a 40 yr old Army. I discovered BTS because my daughter had been following them for sometime. I remember my daughter being annoyed with me because I could not tell them apart. Last year, because of the pandemic, I watched one of their videos and one video turned into hundreds of videos. I fell down the purple rabbit hole. I love, love these boys and their songs and the positive impact they have for the world. They are such good role models for everyone, not just for the youth but for people of all ages. Aside from their obvious talent, their grit, determination, passion for what they do and just their overall humanity is such an inspiration and hope more would emulate. There is no other group that I would rather have my daughter follow than these boys.

    Honestly, many a time, I don't even know where to start when it come to "Where do I start with BTS" because in my case, I fell down their rabbit hole with Map of the Soul: 7 and then I started listening to their albums out of order, while watching their shows, vlives etc ... it was a rescuing journey for me and I'll always be grateful. Even started learning Korean, but you see, I started learning Korean for me, not because i might someday meet them. The biggest thing I got from them was really appreciation for myself and my surrounding and the message of never giving up and being 33, I am part of that age bracket that people really don't know what to do with. We are above 25 so for some reason people seem to think that we are not young, but also we are not exactly 50 so we are not that old ... and so we are "abandoned". But hey maybe it is up to me to show that 30s, 40s and so one we don't need to be thrown away. Enjoy your journey Tianna 💜

    The Beatles are considered the greatest band of all time. They started in 1960 and wrote some of the most famous songs of all times. You may actually have heard some of them without knowing. I love both bands and indeed BTS loves the Beatles too. Now I am sure that I am closer to your parents age and I know the Beatles because they were my dads favorite band, but what BTS and the Beatles have in common is a LOT. Both
    1. Changed music forever
    2. Charted number 1 songs all over the world
    3. Amazing lyrics that spoke to the times and were deeply personal.
    4. And even John Lennon's songs spoke of loving one another (All You Need is Love) just as BTS promotes love yourself.
    5. Both came from relative obscurity
    6. They will have a lasting impact in the world
    7. They made a bunch of funny movie shorts so fans could know them better
    8. Loved by their fans (in the Beatles day it was called a craze and the British Invasion)
    So this is why people make the comparison. It is actually a huge compliment. Watch the Stephen Colbert show with BTS singing Hey Jude.😘
    Now where they greatly differ is the Beatles played instruments (now Jungkook played the drums live) BUT NOBODY!!!! can dance like BTS 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 be still my purple heart.

    Sweatheart, it's fine to cry, we have all been there. Exactly one of the reasons why I fell for BTS I guess. It's a privilige to be able to cry. A long time in my life I couldn't really cry, things only made me harder inside. But here's the thing, if you are not able to cry from the heart, you are usually also not able to really feel the excitement of happiness. It's about the abilty to being emotional in general and crying and happiness are just different sides of the same coin. It was really a relieve when I finally have been able to cry, since then I also very more often can laugh from the heart, really loud without restraints and just feel alive inside.

    It’s okay to cry bc of emotions you feel bc of bts or their music. We get it bc we do it too… like they’re so talented, hot, smart amazing singers , rappers and dancers… but there are tons of groups out there who are all those things also… so ppl wonder why the army is as loving, protective and supportive of bts. I think a lot of us are such huge army bc of who they are as people… off stage they’re the most humble, kind, loving, supportive, genuine people you’ll see. They genuinely care so much and are using their platform to really heal and help people. It’s easy to say all these things … but there’s been years of them just being them and showing how at the core they’re music lovers who want to make things better for anybody who takes the time to listen to them or watch them. They just want to be good people…. And knowing how easy it would be for them to have walked away now… they’re huge and could probably do anything else they wanted to…. But they do what they do bc they love it… and bc theyre family who supports each other and constantly are building each other up. I’ve never seen anything like this from a fandom…. Never seen a group like them either. It’s everything about them os genuinely shocking to see bc it’s so hard to find people like that… and now you have a group of 7 ppl who are the epitome of support and love? We are fucking blessed . Seeing them being good people and supporting these important social injustices … it encourages army to try to be better as well. I think that’s incredibly powerful… they’re literally making any army truly want to be a better person and give more of yourself just bc it’s what bts stands for… that’s just insanely powerful to me… that’s special and not something you could create out of anybody… trust me other kpop companies have tried… but our boys are very special… they deserve the world… glad you’re able to see some of these important parts of who they are !!!

    A great tip I got from a friend on how to pronounce words in Korean would be to remember the vowel sounds; it is the easiest way to get words right 9/10!
    The simplest memorization would be:
    A = ah
    E = eh
    I = ee (like in "tree")
    O = oh
    U = oo (like in "moon")
    So "bangtan" would be "b*ah*ngt*ah*n". Obviously, it gets a little more complex than that (Hangul, the written language of Korean, has 21 vowels! 10 basic vowels, 11 complex vowels.) but it is a good place to start!

    I’m not a huge Beatles fan, but I know that when it come to the Beatles, it’s more about the impact they had on the music industry at the time that was impressive. The type of music they made, the type of fanbase and following they got, and the amount of music and bands they inspired was incredibly influential, regardless of whether or not you like their music. They also were a British band that broke into the American music scene which was really hard to do. So BTS is compared to them because their influence on pop culture is really apparent right now, their fan base is extremely huge and well known, they’ve broken into a notoriously tough music industry as a foreign group, and their music (to some) is different. But they are their own group doing their own thing so it’s quite annoying to hear that comparison all the time. It’s understandable to mention their similarities, but tying BTS to the Beatles by giving them the nickname “the Beatles of the 21st Century” is unfair and undermines their unique successes.

    Think it is for 30 and up is the message of the Music and the boys themselves. I am in my 50s and learned about them when RM spoke at the United Nations. I loved his speech and it made me curious about the group. Namjoon has always been my favourite just because of his personality and Suga. They both speak to my own personality just further along in life than them. I do have a soft spot for Jin and JHope as well. I think probably because I feel the older 4 don't get as much love. But I think they are all adorable and this is the kind of music I would like my greats to listen to as they get older. 😊

  • @marar8045

    They’re being compared to The Beatles because, like them, BTS has faced all the injustices of being labeled a boy band, being from a different country (granted The Beatles barely had a problem there since they were British), and being labeled as a girl teen sensation. In this world, women, and especially young women, are less respected and thought of as basically not knowing anything and being non important. Therefore, when your fan base is thought to be “just screaming fangirls” you’re not considered much of an artist, but more like a gimmick or a sensation that won’t make much of an impact. However, we’re still talking of The Beatles, which proves they were far more than that, and we hope the same happens to BTS.
    Also, the moment BTS had 3 albums charting at the same time and were the first artist to do so since The Beatles, they were bound to be compared.

    Those big companies that rule the KPOP industry are - SM, YG, JYP. These agencies had control over the music industry in Korea, so their artists get promoted well. Small companies artists rarely if at all got promoted well. On the Beatles, there was a phenomenon called Beatles Mania, and that is why they are being compared. Not because of the music or band similarities, other than they were both boy groups and insanely popular. I'm glad you are doing intro videos on BTS. And welcome to the ARMY. 💜
