  • Installation video for TEC Big Bore Pipes and Silencers for Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
    P.S. I am following the installation guide from TEC, but I am not a professional mechanic. This is just what I did. If you noticed a rookie mistake - please let me know in the comments section.

    Tip, drop rubbers in a hot cup of water its easier to bung them back in, bit of hairspray good for cheap lube too, works just as good to fit grips on handlebars also.

      That’s a good tip! Will help others!
      But that wasn’t the most difficult. The most difficult was to screw the bold that goes through that rubbers in the central mounting point! Nearly gave up

      @@thesundayrides Never, ever, give up. Go away, have a good nights sleep, then get up early and try again.
      You will be surprised how much easier it is to solve problems when your brain is fresh and free from frustration.
      I know, been there so many times, and it works every time.
      Frustration is all part of life, as with most things in life there is a way around it, you just have to walk away for a while and think about it.
      Also, if something won't fit cover it in grease, then try again.

      BTW, those Baak bars that I mentioned to you on another video having different sizes on the website was an error on their website which has now been corrected.

    Very nice! Great looking bike. Sometimes, you can play on the frame rate of your shots to remove the flicker from the lights (only noticeable on your final shot) ;)

    Just mounted my tec pipes and had some problems with the right hand one that results a bit longer than the left one… and so, to mount on my Hitchcock Enfield Precision silencers had to pull in more the right silencer one than the left… just to have a symmetrical length between the two..

    • @thesundayrides
      @thesundayrides  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, many people reported the same experience with the pipes. In my case TEC slip ons didn't want to slip on TEC pipes :) I didn't film it because I was mad... and thought I was unlucky with my instance.

    I think large tubing exhaust is a mistake. You don’t need back pressure, but you do need velocity in order to avoid reversion, and this is why custom pipes almost always reduce horsepower.

    • @thesundayrides
      @thesundayrides  11 місяців тому +3

      May be, but that depends on how you look at it. Interceptor is not about performance, it is about laid-back ride with style. these custom tubes and silencers improve the sound dramatically! also they are much lighter.

    • @pravirop3161

      So is a pipe of ID 39mm good for a better exhaust velocity when compared to 45 mm pipes?

      But i think u inferred it wrong
      Overall performance of 45mm pipe will be better due to increase in suction velocity and reduced back pressure

    • @critterIMHO
      @critterIMHO 4 місяці тому

      @@pravirop3161 No, a bigger pipe, allows the air to slow down and get in the way of the next pulse of exhaust. You can even get reversion, which absolutely kills horsepower. A smaller pipe forces the air to speed up and can actually help draw the next pulse of exhaust out.

    Loved how clean the video was, no shaky cam and editing was beautiful and very calming experience, what did you spray in the end on the new exhausts? Wd40? If you ever plan to install 865cc big bore kit on your machine i will watch it.

      Hello! Thank you a lot for watching the video and taking time to leave a comment! That means a lot! Thanks for the nice feedback!
      In the end I sprayed it with alcohol to clean the grease. If you don't do it, you are risking your fingerprints will leave permanent patchy marks on the clean brushed surface.
      865cc big bore kit is my dream. I would not dare to do it alone though, I will need a helper and a proper place to do it.
