Breaking down the Alex Babinski of PVRIS situation calmly. There’s a lot of fire on both sides and these allegations have been simmering for months now, but just two days before the release of their long delayed third album “Use Me”, the Massachusetts rock/pop band have parted ways with their founding guitarist. What happened?

Everything presented in this video is based on allegations from unconfirmed sources. The only official news is that Alex has been removed from PVRIS and is no longer associated with them for now. I also briefly touch on past allegations with Panic! At The Disco, The Killers, and Neck Deep.
Seems like we hear about something every day right? Jfc. 2020 sucks. But remember, these are just allegations and there's really not much evidence on either side, time will tell. Lmk how it hit you in the comments...

to me, at the end of the day, pvris is lynn’s baby and “use me” doesn’t deserve to suffer bc of something shitty alex is accused of doing (although unfortunately, i feel like it will be a bit of a stain on their history even if the allegations are shown to be false). i’m keeping an open mind in wanting to allow the alleged survivors to tell their story, while also not demonizing alex until i have more information to go off of.
Well you were right, it did put a stain on PVRIS, because the allegations ended up being false. But more importantly it ruined Alex's career which is complete bullshit.
Alex didn't have any involvement in this album. Lynn tracked every instrument along with producer JT Daly.
i figured as much when most of the album art was centered around Lynn (tho obviously the videos had Alex & Brian). i kinda liked alex as a player tho 🤷♀️ hope they find someone better!
I was shocked today but I won’t cut pvris off bc Lynn worked so hard on the new album and the previous ones. It’s not fair for someone else to ruin her art and music
Do you treat all bands the same? Most bands gets cancelled easily from just one member's allegations
This is the only band that I’m a huge fan of that an incident like this has happened, so I guess it would depend on the circumstances. If the lead singer was the problematic one than I’d probably stop listening to them only bc I wouldn’t want to support them or hear their voice
It's not her art. It's their art. You talk about it like it's someone irrelevant to the music while he's a member of the band. Just like Lynn
I know he was part of the band but Use Me was mostly written by Lynn. Alex had a small part in it which shouldn’t take away from lynn

Pvris is such an amazing and underrated band and it’s sad that they’re getting attention for this and not their music
Meh, I think they’re incredibly boring overall despite having some really good songs but I tried to keep my opinion of the music out of it in this video considering that has nothing to do with the situation.

I don't think Alex's departure will affect the band much since its been mainly Lynn's project. I do hope they bring him back at some point only if he is proven innocent because it would suck and be totally unfair to get fired over lies someone spread about you.
He has to be proven guilty, not innocent.
Poor Lynn and Brian, I do think they have made the right moves in the band, and I hope this doesn't delay or bring a bad name to the band and new album. Personally, I think this new album is mostly Lynn's project, and we should view it as such, I don't think Alex should get much credit, especially if he is proven guilty.

@@Kevin_Oskar It was absolutely the right move for the band. But they should address the situation now that the truth has been revealed.
regardless of guilt or innocence, i do think it's a smart move to remove a member (temporarily) when this happens, so they can focus on the legal side and if it does come out to be true, the band didn't keep an abuser in the band.

Pvris is literally one of my favorite bands (that I personally love) of all time. While it is sad to see a day one member leave/be caught up in all this, it won’t affect my opinion of them at all because like you said, Alex was never part of the creative process as much as Lynn and Brian were/are. If the allegations do prove to be true, I would prefer Alex be removed entirely because he shouldn’t have to stain the band’s name with actions that have nothing to do with Lynn or Brian.
Still very excited for their latest album to drop too, but I would also totally understand if it got pushed back a little more due to all this.

Jason LovesABR No, Of Mice and Men. Hadn’t heard anything about TGI. I found it on Reddit, haven’t looked into it at all but someone was spreading the word on r/emo and r/metalcore. Honestly don’t care if it’s true or not, I only listen to like maybe six of their songs.
i do think it’s sad that it ruins their careers even if their names are cleared. it’s sad that someone who is innocent’s career can be ruined over a lie. maybe they should just take a break from the band until they have had the chance to clear their name? but i understand and respect how the band have handled it, and i agree with everything you said.

Damn I grew up going to shows with these kids. Back when Alex Lyndsay and Brian were in operation guillotine. I didn’t really know him personally but Alex always seemed like a solid kid. That sucks. So weird their famous now. Lynn sold me my epiphany SG when she worked at guitar center and now they’re in headlines. dang.
well, didn't know that this issue would ever hit one of my favourite bands but oh well. I guess, no one is safe

Glad to hear you mention brendon, a lot of people are just writing him off with no real evidence, and not acknowledging when, so far, 2 of the allegations have been proven false.

If screenshots were shown they could be faked to prove the point. Personally i dont believe anything yet. Yes sexual assault is a serious thing but people can lie about it..

im not cutting them off but i been with pvris before the first album and the the band always remembered me and even the tour manger matty from the band a loss for word i will miss alex tho, i still miss justin who was the drummer this band is one of my favs and i will have to get use to no alex

update is that he has been innocent this whole time. pvris gave up on alex in his time of need and people blindly believe everything they hear

Nah Mike has been back for awhile. I think he was just on a temporary leave
Beyond ARTV I only read a recent article saying that Vic on Instagram confirmed that Mike has been out of the band since 2017 and that the new album is coming soon.

I'm so sick of it and fearing getting attached to bands because they'll get cancelled. If he turns out 2b innocent it's gonna make the band look like jackasses. So disturbing how anyone can ruin an artists career by going online & accusing them of something & even if it ends up being false they don't recover & get back what they earned. Ok so the members of Pvris are not just band mates but also close friends. If those things said online are just allegations why drop Alex? Shouldn't they wait for evidence until they make such a huge decision and most importantly support their friend in clearing his name? It's a bit strange for me. If this really was a PR move what shitty friends they are. Innocent till proven guilty right?
i personally think that, as friends, it would actually be a safer ground on which to drop him. if they all know he's innocent, then because they're close he would understand them needing to separate him publicly from their image and would not want this to tarnish their reputation. if they think he's guilty, they have no responsibility or obligation to him as a friend anymore because it's very clear that lynn and brian wouldn't stand for this.

Honestly, I think it was the label's idea/order. If you notice, there is a visible empty space in the bio of the band where Alex's account used to be. I honestly believe they know/belive he's innocent and will take him back if proven innocent. I think that removing him from the band is a smart choice whether or not proven guilty

Honestly not happy with the paint by numbers direction they've been going in musically. Start off with a rock kind of edge and then shift to forgettable pop like EVERY band seems to do. The rock edge was what made them stand out to me and now that's gone and now you have these allegations I think I'll be skipping on pvris from now on. Sad because I really dug the debut and they had huge potential

I don't really listen to PVRIS but you should be able to separate the art from the artist, MJ was accused of terrible things, I still listen to him. But even so, it's not Alex lays vocals on the tracks, it won't be obvious that he is there, just ignore it.
