The problem with achieving success as an artist by capitalistic standards is that you have to sacrifice nearly all the things that make a person whole and healthy because the industry is so insanely competitive. And, if you're lucky enough to be one of the few whose hard work leads to a big break, that doesn't automatically change your relationship with the work you do. The expectation of hustle and grind doesn't lower, it just becomes the baseline. And, then being queer on top of that...
