Really enjoying these LoD videos, thank you. I'm really hoping the community around the game add a whole host of quests and content onto bgg for players like me that struggle coming up with ideas.
Great content. Thanks in part to your coverage, I just backed the 2nd printing. You also got me into Jason Glover's games. Thanks for what you do. Keep up the good work.
i've been running and writing Tabletop RPG campaigns for over 15 years now, mainly Pathfinder, but also Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and D&D. I got this game yesterday and it's been a blast. The amount of inspiration i get just from flipping through the books and setting up the game is immense. Also, i am glad i finally get to be a player too ^^ That warhammer rpg feeling i get is also awesome! Great game indeed, probably my holy grail wheni it comes to dungeon crawler board games. Especially the open ended nature is perfect for pick up and play groups, we often vary in what players can make a given game night and with this game, people can just hop in, start a new character and play with already exiisting characters together and grab some loot from a dungeon.
This game is as complex as using D&D's Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master's Guide in one--and obliterates the need for a DM! League of Dungeoneers is genius!
That Hall of the Goblin King with its own encounter table is kind of mindblowing.. that could be a standalone dungeon crawler by itself.. :-D So much content...
Really enjoying this series (as my schedule allows). Thank you for what you do, Daniel-your work is appreciated! I was out of the loop and totally missed the KS, but thanks to your LoD videos, I'm sold and on the email list for the second printing. Hopefully it'll happen, and sooner than later🤞🏼 Hope you have a great week, my friend✌🏽 Edit: Just noticed that I wasn't subscribed. I could have sworn that I had been already🤔
Something about this game keeps me coming back to see more. Your enthusiasm for this game doesn't help. The flexibility of this system with the ability to play it so free form is the type of game I would like. However, 30+ pounds of a game and finding room to play it is what is currently holding me back . Please continue with videos on this game!
Bizarrely, there's a town near me (in East Lancashire, UK) called Rochdale. It's where 90s singer Lisa Stansfield is from. Here its pronounced "Rotchdale".
I wonder if I'll ever need any other game again. There is so much to do. Really excited for this to arrive. Endless options and the random generation of everything. Enjoying all these videos.
Very happy to hear campaign play is not the focus. The whole reason for me to play these games is character growth as well. Thanks for another great video!
Nice, after watching this I finally see the comparison with Dungeon Universalis. There is a main quest there, two if you have the second book. The return of Raazbal and Nightstone There are 5 side quests which you can do while adventuring; Thai Chang empire, totem Island, Greenskin campaign, tales of Fang and Claw and the Lord of the spiders and all the epic encounters and single quests, dungeons that you discover while travelling or while visiting establishments such as the governors palace. I still see them as very different games but they are both great dungeon crawlers. Love the list you have here.
I think some things from advanced heroquest could be slotted into this game - the random quests and dungeon generators plus the dungeoneers rules is something I want to try out
All of the dungeons are randomly generated, and to generate a quest you can just roll on the chart to see what quest. It's the same process as games like Warhammer Quest and Darklight Memento Mori.
This is a lot more campaign based than I was expecting. Are there decent enough rules around creating bosses for a campaign? Or maybe not specific rules but is it obvious enough what a decent power level an end campaign boss should be?
The game comes with scaling monster tables and named monsters for bosses. Each quest tells you what faction you fight and what is in the objective room. The campaign of the game is just keeping your characters alive. Live I said in the video, campaign isn’t exactly the right word for what this game is doing because people hear that word and they think Oathsworn or Middara.
Does reprint has more illustrations on cards ? Thas what I am missing now. Also dungeon pieces could has a little more details. Gameplay and what the game offers looks fantastic. But you know, childs likes images :D. Great job with the video by the way !
@@zdenekpilc Hi! I was a bit vague here, I'm sorry. What I meant was that you won't see pictures on the cards of the reprint, but you will see pictures on some of the cards of the expansion. It's looking quite promising for a reprint for the moment :)
@@TheDungeonDive interesting take .. I did add an overland travel mechanic to my AHQ set I made … from WHQ no less…😅… Beyond the Gray Mountains… great fan addition … so we have the overland mechanic and the dungeon generation mechanic… … 🤔… seems like after that LoD departs and adds more depth A-la AHQ… depth of combat, exploration etc… I’d put it AHQ 50% WHQ 30%… and leave 20% to other influences… 🤓
The settlement phase, traveling, dungeon exploreationand character progression, four huge elements, are all straight up WHQ. It is more tactical in the dungeons, which is the AHQ part. At least that's how I see it. I think everyone sees different elements in games, which is why there are so many board game youtube channels. LOL.
Wow... so many campaign and quest and random quests... I really prefer this over scripted dungeon crawleres like Middara where you finish the campaign and you are done..
The quest design was one of the reason I hesitate to back it during KS. I am glad it turn out to be like WHQ instead of the series of quests in specific order! Very interested in the future reprint now :)
The amount of work he puts in for his viewers…👍

So cool that a reprint is coming soon with the expansion I think it's 40 more days from when I posted this message don't miss it everybody LOL
Great content. Thanks in part to your coverage, I just backed the 2nd printing. You also got me into Jason Glover's games. Thanks for what you do. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this series! It's got me looking more forward to receiving this game than I already was. 🙂
Glad you enjoy it!

@@TheDungeonDive absolutely, had my first session today with 2 other friends, we're already looking forward to the next game. had a great time

It certainly does pack a lot into the box.
It's true that it's a "D&D in a box" kind of game more than any other dungeon crawler, IMHO.
Dungeon Universalis still the most RPG in a box board game I know of.
That Hall of the Goblin King with its own encounter table is kind of mindblowing.. that could be a standalone dungeon crawler by itself.. :-D So much content...

This looks like such a great game. Thanks for covering it in so much detail!
My pleasure!
Good idea about assigning the NPCs to perticular settlements!

Yes. They are very different games in a lot of ways.
Looks great!
keep making me jealous and envious since I missed the KS lol

can you just roll a random quest? meaning, can u randomly generate a quest or dungeon?
All of the dungeons are randomly generated, and to generate a quest you can just roll on the chart to see what quest. It's the same process as games like Warhammer Quest and Darklight Memento Mori.
Can you share this quest page?
I don't have a file to share. I just went through the quest books and typed out what was there.

Reprint no, expansion yes :)
The dungeon tiles have lots of great detail that you can actually interact with.
Ok thanks, so there wont be reprint in near future? I hope like Rob said it must be reprinted soon 🙃

@@leagueofdungeoneers2523 oh, ok thanks, it now clear for me, haha
Nice video! .. it looks like the LoD system might lend itself to incorporating AHQ campaigns ..what do you think?
Not sure. I don’t think I’ve ever really looked closely at the AHQ campaigns. Probably wouldn’t take too much work.
With the exception of the cards for random dungeon generation…The more I see of LoD the more it reminds me of AHQ…
It’s more WHQ because of the travel and settlements and leveling up with new traits and skills. I’d say it’s 70% WHQ, 30% AHQ.

Thank you for the overview. It shows this game is not for me. Unfinished and underdeveloped is what I see
