  • Nostalgic getting behind the wheel of the S-10. I recalled riding in these as a kid when they were almost new & if you any of you have any recollection of the 90s, these little pickups were everywhere. Like the Ranger, the S-10 is the true definition of a compact pickup that is a real truck and not a disposable FWD unibody tin can that is built not so differently than an economy car.

My Grandpa had a 94 S-10 2.2l Forest Green 5 speed single cab with the chrome grill and much better looking square headlights, and superman bumper and rear window stickers, he loved superman so much we even calles him pawpaw superman. This little truck was never maintained or anything, but it just doesnt quit even after 250k+ towing various trailers with the aftermarket airbag suspension in the back. Its not on the road anymore due to titling issues as his now widowed wife refuses to sign over the title despite giving us the truck, but the truck still runs and drives. My grandpa is not here anymore but some of my best memories were either in the truck with him or working on vehicles with him.

My 1998 s10 extended cab 4.3 liter V6 4x4 runs like a champ. Its pretty weathered, as it's not been in a garage since probably 2005, I generally use it for hauling stuff and 4x4 stuff like driving in winter snow which it does really good in snow with 4x4. The interior isn't anything fancy, but it's just a truck, not a Cadillac....it's only needed tires and basic maintenance, obviously several batteries as it's pushing 26 years old, seats are comfortable enough, just put a new alternator in it, can't complain it's worth more to me than what I would get if I sold it, it does the truck stuff I need it to do. Kind of cool to see the truck getting a review after all these years, good or bad....

My dad had a 99 like this. Nowadays, they’re so hard to find not rusted out and like this one with the bench seat and V6.

my 1996 stock 4.3 V6 vortex auto ext cab Ls, single wheel D, is 2 years short of 30 years old. And it runs good 💯. I have no idea what's wrong with it.

I hope the 98 s10 4.3 is better than the 2000 Yukon 5.3 in terms of gas mileage

Decent trucks overall, but the interior is pure trash like all GM products of the time & since.

@@nancypelosi480 I agree, but it still doesn’t excuse the crappy interior, Crazy Nancy!
