No nothing like that. You can easily get a job after doing BMC. It's just that AMC gives you an upper hand when it comes to taking part in expeditions and difficult treks. Otherwise basic qualification for applying at TTH, Indiahikes or Bikat is BMC only. I would recommend you speak to ex employees of these organizations (thru FB, LinkedIn) to understand work culture, pay, growth opportunities given etc before applying 😊 All the best 👍

My course was at Sonamarg. Anyways you can get shared cabs from TRC Chowk Srinagar for Sonamarg/ Pahalgam. Per head charges will be 600-800. Once you are added to the WhatsApp group of the particular batch, you can coordinate with other members for arrival schedule in Srinagar and can share the cab and go together. Getting people for cab sharing on the spot in Srinagar is difficult so make sure you decide it before leaving from your city only.

By tent members, I meant course students only. Yes it's all a part of training. Setting up tents, maintaining them, etc. You will get hands on experience of surviving during treks.

You need to get A grade to qualify for Advanced course. Pl check websites of JIM&WS, HMI, NIM, NIMAS for seat availability.

Expedition is only during AMC. Not in BMC.
During BMC at Sonamarg, they take you only to a nearest Table Top hill for altitude gain. It's a one day trek.

Nah. For AMC, you must get A grade in BMC first. Irrespective of whether you are a local or from outside state.

Out of these two, JIM is better I feel. JIM is in Kashmir and hence people do not go there. But it's good. If you want the best then try HMI :)

I guess Pahalgam camp has one. Sonamarg camp didn't have any canteen. They had a kitchen tent. But food was really amazing.
If it's Sonamarg then there's a market nearby. If Pahalgam then they must be having a canteen as it's their HQ.

Yes. received it by post. Start running 5-10 kms daily and do pushups and crunches. Core and arms strength is important for rock climbing
