Icon Of The Seas vs Oasis Class

- Royal Caribbean is known for their massive ships with tons of bells and whistles. When it comes to largest cruise ships in the world they currently hold the top 5 spots with a soon to be new number one with the Icon of the Seas. We are going to take a look at some of the similarities and differences between the Icon class and the Oasis class of cruise ships.
The Oasis Class of ships include the Oasis of the Seas, Wonder, Allure, Symphony, Harmony and Utopia of the Seas. These ships have been the largest in the world since 2009 and can accommodate over 6,500 guests. The Icon of the Seas is bigger in Tonnage and guest capacity.
In our comparison of the Oasis class vs Icon class we look at some quick stats, neighbourhoods, activities, restaurants, and rooms.
When comparing the Icon of the Seas vs Wonder of the Seas something really stood out to us. The Icon has an 8% increase in passenger capacity but only a 2% increase in guests. So will that be noticed at dinner service or other areas of the ship. The other very interesting point you will notice when doing an Icon of the Seas tour is that there are two less elevators and 2 extra decks for passengers.
The Icon of the Seas update also includes the neighbourhoods. Some are back but others are gone and some new ones to explore. Some people will be sad to see the Boardwalk is gone but in its place is the Surfside which seems like it will be a popular area for families with kids.

Great video guys as always. We love the oasis class ships. We just got off the oasis of the seas last month and it was amazing were going on the wonder in 45 days for b2b 14 day caribbean cruise but were looking forwad to Icon were going on her for New Years Eve cruise next year and then the Star 2nd sailing. When we looked the Icon for news years eve cruise it was $4800 for our room now it $14,800 its gone up $10,000...thats crazy!!! Our kids are all older and married and they don't really like cruising so its just us and were good with that lol. We cruise every 2 months on oasis ships RC only we have 10 cruises booked from now till next year so were pretty set now don't have to look for cruises and prices thank god. We do have one cruise with Celebrity on the Beyond so we'll see how that goes...thanks for the video...
That’s awesome! Let us know how the elevators are. I feel I was not as clear as I could have been but I wonder if the new layout will reduce the need for elevators having AO / pools / etc more located close or perhaps it won’t? It looks like an awesome ship I hope we can sail on it soon too! Keep us updated and very much, happy travels.

I prefer the smaller ships. These are too big!!! Waiting for the elevators suck, it’s hard to get a seat by the pool and doesn’t have the same feel as the smaller ships.
I’m also concerned the elevators are going to be very busy. Who knows me maybe they have some new smart elevator technology.
