The Bible only speaks against assault resulting in the end of a pregnancy. It does not speak against a woman ending her pregnancy.

She's talking about hope for all...if that makes you uncomfortable then you need to look inward and work out why that is.
Hope for all is a good thing. What makes me uncomfortable as a Christian is that she seems to be saying that the basis of our hope is faith in some power greater than ourselves, in any variety that works for us personally. For Christians, hope is summed up in the first line of an old hymn which begins "My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus's blood and righteousness." Talk of Jesus and his blood shed on a cross might make many uncomfortable, (it apparently makes her uncomfortable) but if you're a Christian theologian, you have to make it clear that this is the reason for your hope. Otherwise, how is your message any different from that of Tony Robbins or Oprah?

For years when I worked in ministry in California, I often asked my pastors: Who do you go to when you are out of gas? And so often, I was met with blank looks, those wonderful, giving, caring people, had nobody to hold the in grace. And tragically, most left the ministry, including me when I realized the church was using me as a commodity, ,and not an asset. God bless your ministry.

and here is this woman, who approaches preaching in a very different way that may not speak to some, but may very well speak to others, and she preaches a message of love-which was Jesus ultimate message-and here everyone is, calling her Satan? how do you know that she isn’t doing the right thing as a Christian, and being persecuted for it? it’s all the same. and i think Christians should focus on unification and coming together despite differences in doctrine and ways of spreading the message.
Britt Lyn exactly. We have enough mega church type pastors. She's real and she speaks to the people who know they are not perfect. I like he her down to earth approach and her total honesty.
It's not about personal attacks but a mature discussion of basic Christian doctrine and principles.. if you have a problem with that why be a Christian.. what I heard in this clip was 1% Gospel of Jesus Christ, 99% pop psychology, personal feelings, gender politics and feminist ideology ! Anxieties and insecurities dissipate in the presence of the most high GOD, so if a pastor is chronically disgruntled, filled with anxiety and consumed with the language of victimhood, gender politics and by default LGBT issues, then I would be concerned ... one thing I know - an intimate relationship with our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ heals all issues .. it may take a little time but day by day it gets better and better .. So if she's a whiner and complainer what spirit is she being guided by ?

I am troubled not by Nadia Bolz Weber's delivery but by the content of her teaching . I've been looking through other teachings and clips of her book "shameless." In her view the gospel is a canon within a canon, and that the farther you are from the words of Jesus the less relevant. Yet in the Gospel of Matthew 5:17 Jesus says ""Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." God's word is beautiful my friends. Old and new testimate. His definition of good, justice, pure, holy, far exceeds are minds capability to navigate it (we can not see the entirety of the interwoven complexity that makes up our world - the end of the book of Job touches on this). His ways are higher than ours. I find a lot of Nadia's teaching to be more centered on political/cultural views of the day rather than the depth, context, and meaning of scripture.
Friends, please read the word for yourselves. I was not a believer (self professed "agnostic") and I started at Matthew when I was 23. Changed my life.

Yes of course Paul often said things that were nothing but his own foolish opinion and his views on women were of that kind. God did not dictate the Bible as your kind foolishly believe. He or She gave us the Holy Spirit (the Sophia of God) that we might make our way like pilgrims through this wicked world; and there is nothing more wicked than the fundamentalist suppression of women in the church. Thank God the Anglicans have seen the light and given us some brilliant women to lead us.

Paul makes it clear repeatedly that sometimes he is giving his opinion and not presuming to speak for God. Dogmatism about the Bible does not help one little bit to understand it. Lutheran theology centers around the gospel of Jesus, the eternal Son of God, who for us and our salvation took on human flesh. What Lutheran theology are you referring to? Are you WI or MO synod by chance?
@@ritahowe6450 All Lutheran theology. (Read the Augsburg Confession or the writings of Martin Luther regarding justification, the doctrine on which the church stands or falls, according to Luther). Lutherans believe that faith, which is a gift from God, unites us with Christ. It is Christ who is the object of our faith, not faith in whatever works for us. I am neither WI nor MO.

The reason for my claiming that her theology is not Lutheran (or quite possible not even Christian) is that she seems to be saying that God sees us as "a glorious bride without spot or wrinkle" based on our faith in whatever works for us. Maybe if I pinned her down she would clarify that I'm misunderstanding her, that she is really talking about faith in Christ alone, but based on her other You-Tube videos, I have my doubts.
I mean she's not okay though, i feel the weight of my sins, and most people would consider it every day stuff, stuff we all struggle with, but to stand up there and mislead gods children... Thats hilarious. I have read her book. Its filled with profanity. And I have watched several of her messages, hoping that she was not as bad as she seemed. But she is. She preaches a Gospel without repentance which is no Gospel at all.
But she reflects God's love in spite of that. In other words, her call is valid.

Mary Magdalene was the first preacher, sent by Christ himself. Ordination (as we think of it) was not around during the lifespan of Mother Mary. In terms of disciples, worldwide there have been billions of all genders. I don’t follow that point. Because someone interprets the Bible differently than you, doesn’t make them automatically wrong, bad or evil. It is clear that I have my beliefs and you have yours. I will discuss this no further.
