You can throw a bomb at the boxes to save time. The bomb can destroy all of the boxes before you even reach them.

Well no because that Would mean he has to still ink the wall afterwards which costs time and the bomb wouldn’t get all the boxes without impossible placement and rng

@@cal30no1iscool9 I race the single player with friends a lot. It's not hard to place 1 bomb and blow up the all the boxes with 1 bomb. The game actually teaches you to throw bombs at that part because 1 bomb will blow them all up easily.

At 2:10 you can actually jump onto those wooden boxes (don’t paint them or they break) and jump over the wall- that’s how most speed runners get through the beginning quickly
Idk if that would be applicable/allowed for this but thought leave it here :D

I’m pretty sure you need to start the timer when you press “Yeah!” at the end of the customization

in normal splatoon 2 speedruns begin the timer when you hit yeah in the character creation screen

As a speedrunner of Splatoon 2 and 3 I have a couple tips for you to shave off a bit more time
1. spam Y wile focusing camera on first balloon
2 jump from the ledge onto the large crate
3 use a bomb on the crates blocking the wall it breaks all of them and is way faster

Edit: To clarify, it's the "Online" category of News% which has a higher skill ceiling, the "Offline" category is far easier
