Looks like Nathan East is providing some vocals as well! :)
@@Rbrowno97 For sure! As always!
knopfler and clapton always bring out the best in each other. awesome and impressive.

@@carolostrandeer4107 Would that be " Chick Fil Lay " LOL Cheers !
Possible the best rock riff ever delivered by a human being
Yes, you are right!!!
Love Knopfler's vocals during this era
Knopfler is the coolest guy in the world.
Couldn't Agree More!!!
😍👌
Absolutely!
From the Beatles to the end of the 90's we had the best music of all times and most of it came from the UK!
Sorry, Bro... till late 80's. All the 90's are pretty bad
you're wrong....these guys (who you named) come from mars
@@Samana009 true, the only true great British rock band from the 90s was oasis, the rest was just spice girls and back street boys🤮
Oasis is trash
This is sensational! Don't think I've heard such outstanding guitar work combine as one before. Superb talents all of them!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Rather than listening to Rap or shit, make young people who listen to really bad music listen to Knopfler, Clapton or Elton John! This is real music!
gotta change up the lyrics with Elton in the band tonight...that's why Mark is smiling so much on the 2nd verse...
Mark is the greatest.......
0:11 "Go back, man." 😂
Lol goddamn I think everyone missed this. Savage and hilarious. I mean I guess Mark knew his was selling 100 million+ records in the 80's.
How dare he.
Long I have wonder about this. Maby he just laid the hand for fun becouse he could (with the riff).
Looks like he's going to adjust the pedal effects and he was saying "No it's good"
My dad took me to an Eric Clapton gig in 1991 aged about 14. Clapton was good but Ray Cooper stole the show for me. What a dude. Nathan Easts' teeth lit up the arena on their own.
I LOVE this song !!! A hymn to music. Good memories of that time. It's a shame, in 2021, 2022 there are no rock bands like Dire Straits, Ac Dc, Foreigner... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Knopfler, top 10 guitar of all time, makes it look effortless, oh yeah he's a great singer songwriter too.
This performance inn this night was the best ever any any award shows. The talent was crazy great
Money for Nothing with Legends in Concert! Mark Knopfler & Eric Clapton.
and elton john!
@@superweak phil collins on drums!
What blows my mind is that this song can just be performed with a guitar, a bass and the drums.. That's all. Even Rythm can be optional. Knopfler is a genius.
excellent comment
I agree!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Knopfler +Clapton is not legal in a lot of countries
lol
they got banned in south africa
Schnidler why’s that?
Come to my country
@@jackturner5363 They realised how over-rated they are.
Every time I see this it just leaves me speechless. Each and everyone on stage performing at the absolute max and Clapton is an absolute monster. This entire concert is amazing by the way!
Mark is unrecognizable without the bandana
One of the best versions that I've ever seen!
The type of rock n' roll, which won't make you want to bang your head but make you want to appreciate the music in depth! I really want the time when music was made by *musicians!
That intro like a total boss!!! So many legends on one stage, surprised the roof of the RAH stayed put!
Mark looks happy 🙂
Am happy everytiime I see MK smiling😍🎧🎸🎤🎶
It sounds like Eric Clapton's guitar was going screwy and he was reaching to turn it off with one of his pedals at 0:11 (instead of Knopfler telling him to F off while he's doing his intro).
This band on this great night was off of the charts. The talent all together when will we ever see it again.
I wasn't born in this time, but if I can go back in time I'd go to 1988 to see this concert.
I was 10 when I got a DVD with a compilation of the 1987 and 1988 Rock Galas. Immediately fell in love with the 80s. It changed my life.
When the girls came in ,it went to another level. Every thing was rocking. Wow the whole performance fantastic
My best choice: Mark Knopfler! 😀🎸❤🙋♀️🎸🎤🎸❤🎤🎸❤😀
馬克很少笑, 偶爾一笑十分迷人, 他此時笑得相當多, 很是難得. 這首歌是經典, 最好的年代唱最好聽的一首歌, 謝謝分享~
Even my 81 yr old Dad thinks Knopfler is a great guitarist. There's still hope for us Genxers.
Money Money money 🌹
Y love you Mark 💋

How am i just seeing this version now. Amaxing
who else gives eric clapton a touch in the midle of the solo?
WOW ❤
Amazing intro!! BRUTAAAAAAL!!!!
This is pure dream to see these legends together.
The song is cut in the end - the original lenght of this live version is 6:05m . This version with this six minutes doesn't has the sync problem that you can see here.

Realmente, poucos perceberam. Ele pediu ao Eric pra voltar. Kkk

he took his legendary Pensa Shur in 1992 too :) i have the dvd for decades
Clapton tries to get next to Mark and Mark pushes him back....LOL love it!
tell you what, Eric, I'll give you the solo, but the riff is mine
Good observation.
Clapton was pushing his pedal. C'mon you guys.
I think if the best Money For Nothing live version
Search UA-cam for "Mark Knopfler (Clapton, Sting, Collins) - Money for Nothing [Music for Montserrat ~ HD]"
Nah, Prince's Trust 1986 did it 20x better than this
I really enjoyed the knebworth one

Nathan and Steve, wow what a pocket!! Not easy to play super laid back like that, especially on stage.
How weird it is to see Jerry Seinfield have the lead and Chuck Norris to have rhythm..
Classic comment. Make me laugh so much. Nice one.
How good at guitar are you?
Clapton plays rhythm for me
LOL... Yeah
😂😂😂
And I’m the girl he wrote Layla for... 👏👏👏🥰😂😂😂
@@Ettesun LOL
While i sing about house applications
That's what you call a strong lineup on stage...

Muito bom
Clapton and Knopfler are ok, but bongo guy is killing it.
The legendary Ray Cooper, one of the best percussionist's ever
Bangin' on the bongos like a chimpanzee the always demonstrative Ray Cooper.
Ray Cooper is the greatest percussionist I've ever heard. You should watch him playing Tiny Dancer with Elton John at Hyde Park in 2016
You know you've made it, if Sting is your Background Singer and Clapton your Guitarist.
They overdubbed the end of the song cutting Eric solo at the ending, but the YT have the complete version.
Fun to hear him change the lyrics. Wondering if he was referring to Elton originally 😏
Those are not Marks words to begin with. He overheard a couple of engineers in an electronics store that were watching MTV and wrote it down.
@tigervv6437 Mark is credited with authorship, so he takes all responsibility. Besides, I'm sure he heard a few other words spoken that did not make it into the song. The words he used conveyed exactly what he wanted to say.
@@kimmytuna5180 Of course, but they are not his words as in his own personal opinion. That is my point. Many seem to believe that is the case.
Elton John was the one who defended Eminem for using the F slur in his songs and how Eminem was rapping about what was going on and not what he thought which is the same in this songs case so 99% sure Elton wouldn't give two tosses if he used the F slur. Mark removed the F slur from every live performance of this song. Just for class and in good taste I think.
@@tigervv6437 And yes agree. So silly how people still don't believe that to be the case. Like please do some research first before spitting out these crazy allegations about people.
Great to see and hear Elton John on BVs!
Dats da way ya doey.
Holy shit that snare lmao
If you can't say something pleasent .... don't bother......❤

What’s the title of the instrumental that follows Layla? It’s brilliant!!
nice how he changed the lyrics for obvious reasons :D
Por que Clapton e Knopfler não gravaram um disco juntos?
these versions have a problem : Phil was on drums but we only can listen to Steve!! Who was the sound engineer ? it's the same for layla and with a little help from my friends
Same with Clapton's outro solo
Same with Clapton's outro solo. 4:31 we can clearly see something is going on but we can't hear it
Phill it`s not playing on this one
@@jaedanashok9737 The problem of this version is that is cut in the end. The original lenght of this song is 6 minutes and 5 seconds. But if you upload this version and you're not an enterprise who has Money for Nothing rights youtube will bring down your video. It sucks.
They edited out Clapton's second solo? Otherwise, brilliant version of the song. Two guitar legends.
I was thinking maybe something got disconnected. By the end he wasn’t playing much
Clapton, lurking in the shadows…waiting to strike
Singing a verse about a rich rock n roll "queenie" with an earing while Elton john is actually on the stage with you just adds another layer to the satire. Its almost like they're saying "See? STILL richer than you!"
Just realized they have ray Cooper banging on bongos (well congas really but who's counting) "like a chimpanzee" as well! Love that that they cut to him right on that line. Thats an editor who knows what their doing!
Amo o Mark, mas virou um caretão. Muitos ficam ricos sem que isso aconteça!
Clapton's tone though.
Look up this. Record it in your eyes and brains, because non of you will see this again. Regeton, trap, and autotune, killed all these artist. No more drums, no more, guitars, no more keyboards... NO MORE TALENT...NO MORE MUSIC...
katie kissoon was so fine
Eric Clapton: "I'm just gonna step up here and..." Mark Knopfler puts his ha d on Clapton's shoulder: "Step back. Ill show you how to play."
Hahahaha. I love eric, but Knopfler is a Genius.
what happened to the part in here 0:12
If you need it, I have a full version of it. I don't know why you ripped and cut the beginning and speech of Mark The Greatest.
