I leased a 2022 Pete with cummins and that thing was a piece of junk as well. I drove it for a year and couldn’t take anymore of the rattling. Last month I resigned my lease but this time with a Volvo 740. I was skeptical at first but couldn’t be happier. Waaay better drive train than the Pete and performs much better when you get in the hills. I’ve been hearing that Freight liner is going to start getting in line with the Volvos and start using crawler gears and turbo compounding. Best of luck man!! I’m glad you’re still doing well.

Thanks for the review on the truck - I have interned at a Kenworth Assembly Plant on and off for 4 years now (about to graduate college in engineering) and the plastic trim you were pointing out is a constant problem in the assembly process - especially that side marker. I’m not sure what exactly is causing the problem but it defintely needs to get better because you independents deserve a better quality product!
Wow I am shocked. My 2002 Volvo N14 and used TMC trailer 240 Gal fuel me in the truck 31250 pounds. And I had quite a bit of extra tools and even about 110 pound weight set to stay in shape OTR.
Biggest flaw with those 2023 kenworth fuel tank driver side when you fueling if you don’t keep an eye on it good luck with the mess you gotta clean like put the fuel tank where it was in the old one the back
Thanks for the review of the truck, it was very useful, there was an unpleasant surprise about fuel consumption. Plastic Kenworth and so much weight? And the problem with quality is generally terrible. Of course, I expected problems from a new product, but not like this. Volvo looks like an increasingly attractive option.
what kind of fuel economy are you getting my 485 isx was giving me 4.75 5mpg I had 550 6nz cat did 6.3 mpg im thinking of buying one of these but not sure yet quality and fuel economy went to shit on all these truck and they want 250k for them absolute disgrace
Mmmhhh really a lot of bad issues.... In Europe we still have the same oroblem with trucks..and DAF habe all most the same quality issues like your truck

Nice info. Kenworth is my pick. Volvo could another choice.
The volvos are much better than the KW the steering is much better in the city. The view out of the windshield is much better in the volvo

I’m not a fan of the new style T680 so I don’t have any pros just cons. Look into an older model T680 there driver… 💪🚛💨💨💨

Based on my experience Volvo is a better option right now. The new Paccar products are subpar from what they used to be.
I have a 2024 coming with no fairings and a steel chrome bumper, hopefully that cuts down on my issues 😂

I can get 8 to 9 loaded and up to 13 empty and I have the condo truck
Loaded u mean 2000 lbs ?! 😂 I have cummins on my 2016 579 and never got more than 7mpg gross weight
No not 2,000 lbs. I’ve had 30,000 plus and got that mpg no joke
