The only difference is that society acted/acts like barbarians when that takes place, and alot of innocent people get tortured. I hope that every single day is a living hell for Chad and Lori, and I wish the same upon anyone who supported and continues to support their actions. However, I am grateful for the current legal system. It could be better, but it could be WAY worse. Like what you described.
