    One lady-farmer used horses up to 1968 over here in Lippinghausen,Ostwestfalen,Germany.
    Two horses pulled a one bottom-plough and three the Binder,driven by wheel,not motor! very hard work.

    Do the amish farmers get the same yield per acres as the best mechanized farmer nearby???

    • @carmfarm5
      @carmfarm5 10 років тому +1

      They can. Several are organic because it fits their style of farming and they get a premium for their produce. An Amish farmer I know claims he gets about 125 Bu. corn, he uses open pollinated corn and farms organic. In his area most traditional farmers get closer to 200. He farms 80 acres and they farm 1000.

    Dovresti usare un aratro con la coltre più larga per permettere al cavallo di camminare meglio 😉😉

    6 oder 7 Pferde und 1 Schar und eine Cambridge-Walze?? Und stacheldraht am Ende des Gewendes? Das scheint mir übertrieben , höchst ineffektiv und fragwürdig. Was ist das für ein Boden?

    •  6 років тому

      Thomas Pfeifer 7 Pferde und zwei Scharre, dazu die 50cm breite Cambridge-Walze, die tief in den Boden greift. Die Anzahl der Pferde ist gerecht fertig. Die Amis betreiben Feldfutterbau, d.h. Irgendwann wird auch mal Gras und Luzerne angebaut, welches auch mal beweidet wird. Wenn das öfters der Fall ist, warum dann den Zaun abbauen? Machen in D auch viele Bauer.
      In Pennsilvania besteht der Boden Großteils aus humusen Sand.
