- We have some ideas to build our own quadricycles, Emiel builded a long base frame and Geert builded a short base frame. We used Fusion360 for design our project. Emiel draws the whole quad and together we builded 2 quads. I am the welder, builder, and have some simple machines to build our quads.
The weight from the driver is most on the frontwheels. The backside is long so i can take my wheelchair with me on a trip. But the frame is constructed for multiple uses. I can place a wooden crate on the backside so it is a cargo quad. Ore a low loader.

The German pony 4 looks simpler. Also has fewer parts so that the whole thing will also be easier to maintain. We have deliberately opted for 26-inch wheels and all wheels are independently suspended. The wheelbase could be shorter, but now there is also space at the back to put a superstructure on it. My buddy is building a complete mini caravan on it so that his quad will be more of a bike camper. The superstructure will be removable. I use a shorter back and a small tray comes on top of that. The bucket can be removed and then possibly a turntable so that a low-loader can be attached to it or another trailer. There convenient in the city to transport packages. The seat shell can be replaced by any seat. It is also easy to make a transfer from the wheelchair but the seat shell of the bike, the seat shell can rotate.

cool build. Wish Canadas laws allowed 4 wheel electric vehicles . but where stuck with 3 wheels. Been planning a recumbent trike build was looking for ideas for full suspension and cam across this i like the way the rear part is put together and would solve my qualms about a trike with 1 front wheel over having 2 in front .
Wow, mooi werk heren. Ziet er profi uit. Hebben jullie de wielassen zelf gemaakt of ergens vandaan? Zo'n quadricycle zou wel iets zijn voor mijn fietscaravan (zie kanaal).
Bijna alles is zelf gemaakt, de assen heeft een hele goede vriend die een fijne draaibank heeft voor ons gemaakt. Gebruik gemaakt van rond staf 20mm. Ook heeft hij enkele spiebanen in de assen gefreesd. Wij hebben zelf geen draaibank en freesbank maar kunnen er wel een gebruiken die elders in een werkplaats staat. Ook veel kleine onderdelen hebben we laten lazersnijden want dat scheelde heel veel tijd. Als we alles vanuit de hand moesten maken met behulp van een simpele haakse slijper nou, dan waren we vele uren bezig geweest. Ook de verloopbussen waar de fixed tandwielen op komen zijn gedraaid. Lassen doe ik zelf en dan ben je bezig en breng je toch wel eens toch een upgrade aan omdat het dan net wat beter uit komt. De komende tijd gaan we ons bezig houden met de achterremmen opbouwen en de elektro opbouwen. En dan testrijden, ik wil nog wel enkele vervolg videos maken.

Homebuild is great to do, so you can make it on your ideas. Wow, a worldtrip, great to do something.
@@Badass-cycles i have already cycled 40.000 km with my 2 trikes in Europe, Africa and Asia. Most probably I will leave again in march with a trike and maybe I will transform it in a quad along the road 😜
@@Recumbenttrikethe one i am riding on, gets a camper on the rear. I am currently working on that. I will use it also to camp with. Always my bed with me. 😊
Interesting project, but why is the seat so far up the front? Is it going to be a transport quadricycle with some kind of load at the back or are making a two-seater with second seat behind the driver? Also how much does the frame weight in total?
We used those quads for off roading and on the back comes a alu crate for storage and spare parts. But it is even possible to take a wheelchair on the backside. My dream is, to use this quadricycle on the dutch beach

Ja Emiel was daar ook met de quad en camper opbouw. De afgelopen week heeft Emiel de opbouw van de quad af gehaald en deze staat nu op een fijna aanhanger zodat de quad meer inzetbaar is voor andere doeleinden.

Yes we had an guest from England, he was holding a cycletrip on his homebuild Python. Emiel explaned some buildingplans and why we chosed for this building techiques.
Where did you get that differential? been looking for one for bikes

Okay i will ask Emiel to make a map with the correct buildingplans.
I asked and we make a complete map if the whole quad is 100% builded and tested so you can build a perfect quad. I think in November.
I will make them when we are finished with the quads.

Emiel drew all the parts and also added the correct dimensions so that after careful study we could purchase metals and then start making all the parts. The design is from Emiel and myself,
I am the man of technology and steering geometry. After many sawing we started welding, with a simple old skool MIG device. And then it's all about putting everything together and adjusting it. And yes, we have neatly stored all drawings and measurements in case someone or we want to build a quad ourselves. Also lots of photos. I will discuss with Emiel whether we can make a summary of all the saved documents so that this quad will also be possible for others to build.
But over time we have also had several minor defects and these are improving so that we now have a pretty great quad. Strongly and firmly tested in various areas. I do a lot of off-roading and Emiel is now on holiday with almost 800km of cycling with the quad. His quad has a camper structure.
