Thanks for the extremely-valueable video! I just bought some Kicker 6 3/4 2-way, which I will be mounting in these boxes. What difference did it make, switching from the stock VENTED/PORTED boxes to the NON-VENNTED boxes? I'll probably port mine. Compressing air, inside the box, without a forward-facing vent, like the stock boxes have, seems counterproductive and wasteful.
It definitely doesn't sound better with just putting the six and a half in there comparable to the port on the stock speaker. There's definitely a lot more bass on the stock speakers because they are ported and designed for that enclosure. But when you do put an amplifier on the 6.5-in in the enclosure it sounds absolutely amazing. The stock head unit just doesn't have enough power to really give this 6.5 what it needs
@@octanetvchannel Thanks for the reply! I may install some ports (modified, to bring some of the rear-firing bass from the back of the enclosure to the front). I may even try some tuned ports, while I'm in there. Hoping to find a 6.1 DSP solution.
Great video!!! Very helpful. Question: I would like to change out the same speakers on my 2020 Gladiator but with same size as stock. I don't need to remove the pods. Can I acess the speakers without removing the whole dash?
Excellent instructional video. Will definitely keep tuned in. Extreme Terrain needs to hire you to create their install videos. 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2 door. Thank you

Nothing for that whack new '24 soundbar available yet. I'm getting close to just cutting it up and stuffing some 6.5 components up there.
Let us know what you do with it because we haven't figured it out yet?
+1! The soundbar on my feels loose, compared to my 2021 JLUR, and it's terrible for bass reflex.
I blame Fiat for the horrible screw placement
