  • Forsaken and opposed by those closest to him, including his traitorous son Absalom, King David sought refuge in the wilderness. But evil pursued him. David was deceived by a trusted servant and then cursed by Shimei, a relative of Saul. As Alistair Begg explains, David understood Shimei’s cursing in light of Nathan’s prophecy that God would discipline David for his sin-though He would also never remove His steadfast love and mercy. God does not offer grace begrudgingly. Rather, it is freely given to all who come to Him in repentance and faith.
    Scripture: 2 Samuel 16:1-12
    Preached: October 10, 2021

Mister Begg, whatever success Jesus Christ may lead me to, you gave me my first step. I hope someday I can thank you in person. I pray to the Almighty God through Jesus Christ I have fruit to bear through grace that you might see what those steps through The Lord produced.

    Profound truths!
Indeed, the Lord does not treat us as our iniquity deserve. Even the evil of suffering as a consequence of sin is a blessing because God can turn it into good in the life of a believer.

A lot of pastors wouldn't preach on Samuel. I appreciate Pastor Begg for doing that.

I am new to the ministry. I first saw a sermon on Strange Fire with John MacArthur. I have been studying Dr. MacArthur’s ministry for some time now and was looking for a fellow man of God. I hear the word of God in this sermon and the teaching of truth. I most certainly will be back for part 2. Thank you.

I saw a shirt today that said "No. Respectfully.". That was the shirt. It was kind of a form of self flattery. Like getting excommunicated from a church I don't even care to go to.
