Oh Steve, nicely handled. This is so sad. Tavungumi's behaviour was so out of his character after the snare incident. In hindsight, they should have kept him in longer after the operation vs his losing touch with his territory. If you have or use snares, please use them on yourselves and cleanse our gene pool.Thank you Wild Earth for showing the respect he deserved in a life well lived and full of potential, but cut short by humans even in protected areas. The brighter news being the introduction of a female cheetah in a proximate reserve already home to 3 lonely cheetah brothers ! Life's balance. 😞 👍
I can't believe this is the first I'm hearing about this😢 I am devastated and literally sick to my stomach at the loss of yet another beautiful leopard under unnatural circumstances..The only good that can come from Tavangumi's totally unnecessary death is change! Thank you Pikkie for posting this 💔💦💛
It's a very sad situation, it all goes back to humans and poaching. Stop hurting and killing the animals. It's also the medical staff, partly to blame for not keeping the leopard longer in order to recover. Hell, anyone or animal would do the same thing if they were in as much pain and hunger as this precious leopard so obviously was. Pray that humans learn from this and no more animals have to suffer because of human stupidity.
This is unbearable, I'm very very sad that this beautiful young Leopard has to die because of humans! I thought they took care of him after the snare incident by feeding him so he did NOT have to starve! Tavangumi was never in a wrong place, Humans were 😢 RIP beautiful Tavangumi ❤
No excuse. This was due to humans. As you said he was in a compromised state. So he should have been taken care of . Not just stitch him up and leave him. How did you expect him to hunt in that condition? 😢😢😢
I agree. The conservations should have fed him. It was not the leopards fault he got caught in a snare. It is our responsibility to protect these animals. It is very sad 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 5:11
Apparently he was collared so they could follow him and they were leaving food for him. I heard someone else share that he also had hunted successfully but lions took over that kill. I'm not knowing if they fed him after they knew he could hunt for himself.
Very, very sad. I wish they’d have kept him a bit longer at the medical facilities so he could regain his strength before having to fend for himself. Catching prey items isn’t easy and requires lots of strength to kill, hoist, keep from other predators, etc. I’m praying they learned from this very sad situation. 😢
This is devastating news. The conflict between human and wild animals will always continue sad to say. We have invaded they home / territory... snaring and etc is only a part of it. It's a deep problem never resolved.
Steve this dose weigh " HEAVY " to 1`s HEART and I feel in what you have said is " CORRECT " that Tavangumi behavior did change after he was " SANED SAD " I wish their could have been some other OPTION for his SAFETY but maybe in time 1 can find that other OPTION in protecting in what little Wild Life we have left on our planet ... For Tavangumi I have watch him from a cub as many of us have his story dose not END in my LEOPARDS book for Tavangumi story will be of OPIONS ... RA 68 HELL FIRE

Sad times 😢
How sad. Humans created this situation and as usual the animal is the one to suffer. Thank you for doing everything possible to save his life. 😢
heart breaking news.

Such a tragic end for that beautiful leopard. I wish that people would stop snaring and spare more animal lives. 😢

So we have starving tribes in these areas still where they have to set snares? Or is it a poaching issue?
Always said when Chinese come this will happen. It's medicine for them. Thanks for sharing

If you get the chance Pikkie, please thank the staff/management who had to make this very difficult decision, I'm aware they love these animals too.
