@@user-vw4xp5nt9f those are anything but coincidental. I sometimes feel like if Homestuck was planned for years actually, or maybe unnatural in origin.
Karkat also ended up with a Space player (Jade) and a Time player (Dave) As for a Muse of Time, Knights are much more passive than most realize. They are more reactive than proactive and serve others through their journey before they serve themselves. So just like Dave had a lot of conflicted feelings about who and what he was supposed to be as someone who naturally serves others through an active aspect, I think the effect would be magnified in someone even more Passive, like a Muse
I'd still play it. A chance at immortality, you know. Also, flying. And potentially some cool powers. Side effect: lose your planet and potentially live forever in a barren planetary system. Also, minions / Dersites. Worth it.
If I remember correctly, Hussie disproved Calliopes assumption that classes such as Muse/Lord are exclusive to a certain sex, meaning that Callie was just making an educated guess (she strongly believed in). As to Space being a very passive Aspect, I think that it is difficult attributing the active/passive duality to the Aspects, since that's what the Classes are for. Lastly, whether Time is its "active counterpart" is debatable. I suppose there is still plausible uncertainty, as to whether certain Classes are active or passive. I personally like the interpretation of the Knight (passive), Page (active), and so on. making Dave actually a *passive* Time player. Discourse on the internet has made me wary, which is why I wanted to say that none of this is meant as confrontational, but as a helpful insight/comment.
I know this video is 4 years old, but I really feel the need to point this out as a intersex person: Intersex is not caused by incest. Intersex is a chromosomal/genetic disorder ANYONE can be born with. Your parents can be from opposite sides of the world, zero family relations, and you can be born intersex. There are certain additional conditions that can happen if incest is involved with the intersex offspring. The video really did not make that clear, and this issue a very damaging and common misunderstanding because we don't teach about intersex condtions in health class.
weird flex but a Prince of Void would be _stupid_ powerful One who literally destroys nothingness? You could easily render objects unbreakable, people unkillable and at the height of your power, possibly even destroy the concept of nothingness itself, thus literally birthing forth everything that ever could be or has been.
As always an informative infodump from Jen, teaching me things I hadn't noticed on my own. One fact that I was expecting to hear mentioned here when the video got to the part about Calliope's wand, is that Act 7 opens with Alt-Dead Calliope lifting that wand in what may be a callback to the title of Act 2: "RAISE OF THE CONDUCTOR'S BATON". The Cal & Cal as conductors theory did get mentioned, but the visuals in the first few seconds of Act 7 really strongly support it.
5:19 that's awesome, imagine Calliope in her soft British tone and then she reverts to Caliborn who's just louder in tone and filled with profanity, like "YOU RANCID PIECE OF HORSE TROT, I OUGHTA SHOOT OUT YOUR FACKING THROATS!"
I dunno, somehow cherubim change physical structure, changing blood colour and gender, upon usage of the Sarswapagus, so I don’t find it impossible for the vocal cords to change.
Also she is the Muse of Space. Muse = to admire Space = all of creation This is a refrence to an on going joke in Problem Sleuth, where Godhead Pickle Inspector who would only "fondly regard creation"
Yay! I always pull up Calliope on that "what character are you like" quiz. I'd like to think that's a good thing but it honestly is probably from the quiz interpreting me being a wuss as "passive"...
I'd figure a Muse of Time would fall along the lines of a great hero or leader, fighting a battle in a way that not only inspires the troops of the current day, but leaving a legacy that inspires others to fight in their name or using their ideals and tactics long after they've finished their own fight. Like, say.... to reference something Homestuck has referenced before, Kamina from Gurenn Lagaan.
One thing: the black hole looks like an 8 ball and the space effect is the felt around it on an analytical level. The tearing of space with the black squares reminds me of an opposite color for chalk rubbing off the cue. It’s also funny how she is the exact opposite in attitude to Midna from LoZ, who is also tied to green, and black squares of pitch black darkness, or twilight. Does that make normal caliborn Zant?
I really wonder if Hussie is actually such a genius that he was able to form this ridiculous web of allusions and references or if it's the fans putting together a lot of pieces that aren't really there. I'm terrified of either...
I know its an old video, but i like to think of Karkat’s symbol as Caliope and her bro in an eternal battle of wills, spinning around each other unable to escape.

When ever you said stardust in this I couldn't help but to think of the golden age comic book character stardust the super wizard and I don't exactly know why but he is a cool character and his comics are just insane.
In fact the dynamic between calliope and callaborn kinda reminds me of the dynamic between stardust and fantomah except stardust and fantomah are both good guys but are more like God's of old with there justice with fantomah the girl probably being the more harsh but in calliope and callaborns case it's a more understandable split with one being difinitviely bad and one being difinitviely good and the harsher of the two being callaborn a dude. Interesting how these things reapear through out comic history
Tbh I hate calliope, for many reasons, one of them being that she _made downright creepy and borderline nsfw fanfics of her friends_ I don't give a shit if that's a coping thing, but that shit is wrong, if somebody was doing that with me, they won't be my friend anymore. Also she did jack-shit in the finale, her alt-self did more then her. All Calliope stands for is to be an plot device and an useless ass character.
Funny that hussie is sadly correct about his opinion about caliborn. That those who has a stronger drive and passion shapes and drives the world forward, making the malicious side of homestuck more canon, if caliborn represents the dark aspect of homestuck. Caliborn prevailed over the weak and passive side which is his sister, as well as making Calliope's sacrifice be in vain due to the ending, showing Caliborn is still alive and immortally kicking. In the end, darkness won -homestuck- I mean skaia, like in the prophecy.

I personally believe that caliborn doesn't represent Homestuck haters or any other aspect of Homestuck fandom but more so the Homestuck artist himself! its no secret that Andrew hussie's past has been... less than spotless... honestly he was pretty racist and misogynistic and homoph- yeah, bad, you get it. Caliborn is Hussie's own (second, less obvious) self-insert, being an over-dramatized version of his worst self! in fact something else I think you got wrong (sorry) is the idea that caliborn matured into LE with time (hah) when really he more or less cheated his way into adulthood without maturing mentally, Hussie says so himself during their terminal conversation (yeah in this context it much more resembles the homestuck trope of a past-self future-self argument huh?) "Yes. Your personality is stuck in some sort of cantankerous prepubescent limbo.
