Hello once again, dear description reader! It's been one hell of a month... actually it's my birthday so, one hell of a year. New job is great, better than customer service and weekends off so it's like NORMAL instead of being "Ah, yes. I'm working from 1 to 8:30 on a Saturday and then open at 7 tomorrow morning."
ANYHOO. December is a vacation month as I plan next years potential FS episodes, spend time with family, and just try to relax a bit. Will I post somethings during December? MAYBE but I can't garuntee that.

I think Tavros's last name being Martin spelled backwards may also reference Mary Martin, an actress who was well-known for playing Peter Pan in the stage play version of the story.

Gamzee has a thing for Tavros. Gamzee is a stoner. Nitram spelled backward is Martin, and he's apparently Troll Latino, like Cheech Martin from the famous comedy duo Cheech and Chong, who are known for their pot jokes. One well known skit of theirs is "Dave's not here"

honestly i relate to Tavros a lot and i definitely see a lot of my own autism in him that is just comforting.
Also, one of the best known uses of the word "toreador" in media/pop culture is the Toreador Song from the opera Carmen. The opera ends with the eponymous heroine being mortally stabbed by her jilted and super possessive ex-lover while a reprise of the Toreador Song plays in the background
As much as I love this sweet cinnamon roll I can’t help but feel that some of what Vriska says about Tavros is true. As a character some of his actions are a bit infuriating. I mean I can understand having problems with killing someone you care about but it just hurts me that he almost never stands up for himself. When you design a character to be a punching bag it makes you care about them and Tavros is no different. And while he does get there eventually, I think the fact it took a whole act and several act act intermissions to do so really makes watching him suffer just kind of draining.
But I mean who cares about all that because he’s a sweet, precious boy and I love him.
He is a Page player after all, they take the longest to reach their full potential

As a person with Aspergers, I like the interpretation of Tavros having Aspergers. The logic is barely there and even then it is a stretch (I don't think he hyperfixates on a single thing in the entire comic). He just kinda gives me a vibe, ya know? A lot of different disorders and syndromes can be applied to characters in Homestuck, but almost none are confirmed and most are stretches. I just like it when people have a character they can impress themselves onto and relate to as a result.
Tavros and don Quixote now I'm even more certain that John is a reference to John Henry with them both wealding hammers being named John and fighting against intermountable odds. Also I think the basic story of Homestuck may have been lifted from the comic siers and first event comic secret wars.
@John Maher well there is a version of John Henry in the DC universe who has a grandson who is also named John Henry and is the super hero steal but the cherictor of John Henry has his origins in folk tale of USA with him being a "steal driving man" ie he made rail roads and in every version of the legend he dies right after doing a hurculean feet like digging through a mountain or beating a steal driving machine or sometimes he fails. Fun fact the SpongeBob episode the Pattie gadget is based off of the John Henry legends and in the episode of gravity falls golf war the cherictor of big Henry is partially based on John Henry and another flok lore hero who dies in the end and has a tone of songs based off him, big bad John also John Henry is Canon to the idw transformers universe appearing in the Hart's of steal storyline.
Imagine if tavros was a hope player.

There's a theory that Nepeta is autistic. It comes from a line from Karkat saying: "Great! I'm stuck with the autistic girl!" When referring to Nepeta. Hussie said that is wasn't meant to be a insult so people started thinking Nepeta has autism. There's other evidence but I can't seem to remember it.
CandyQuartz autistic person here - i LOVE that headcanon!! nepeta has a lot of autistic traits, like her fixations on romance and shippings and her inability to understand social cues. i don't know enough specific story details completely off the top of my head, but it becomes super apparent once you reread scenes with that in mind UwU

I actually never liked tavros when i first read the comic. but upon my second readthrough, while keeping in mind that vriska actually sexually harassed him and bullied him to the point of paralysis, he became an even more likeable character! i think a lot of his problems arose from his trauma, and if you look back on conversations he had with living aradia on alternia, he was much more confident than he was at the start of hivebent. sure he was still really anxious and unsure of himself, but he was still determined to pursue the flarp class that "n0ne 0f the really useful c0mbat abilities c0me int0 play until y0u reach a very high level", which is exactly what the page class is defined as. to actively seek out the hardest route means that he wants to work hard to become something great, and it feels like vriska took that shred of confidence and drive away from him in her attempts to "toughen him up". Anyways, I really hope you might talk about this in your vriska video at least, since you had so much to say in this video i dont blame you for not getting into *every tiny detail* about his character arc
Tavros username can be translated into Goodbye Bullfighter. I think it also refers to him being a "bull" and a pacifist.

So i just realized… aradia tells tavros not long before vriska jumps him off the cliff that- and this is kinda paraphrased- “you picked an odd class, not a lot of the very powerful skills are gained until far into the levels”… tavros is also a page, one of the ‘hardest’ classes in sburb which can also become one of the most powerful classes if they develop as the game intends them to… we had foreshadowing of tavros’s classpect even before we knew pages exist or their difficult experience curve

also i just finished listening to the final fact and now i am. worried about every troll in the dreambubbles. oh god what happened to the original equius and nepeta are they okay or are they dead

Personally, I think you can't leave dreambubbles as ghosts, since regardless of what happened at [S] Collide we haven't seen ghosts outside all this mess, who weren't being sucked into this hole. In dreambubbles there were also tons of half-dead Sollux's, who couldn't escape this thing either, so my speculation is: You can exist out of dreambubbles as a ghost, but you have to be alpha, which means you're meant to be not dead and needed in alpha timeline, like both Aradia as Aradiabot (not Aradiasprite) and Sollux as part of Erisol... (if anyone wants speculation about Erisol just tell me), though you can't escape as your dream projection, like Dirk.
While speculation probably exists, it's quite possible that ghosts are capable of staying "alive" outside of purgatory dream landscape world.
I completely forgot about the name of Tavros' land but I named my first born Zephyr. Accidental Homestuck reference for the win!

Good call about labeling. As an Aspie who's fav movie is Hook (Rufio), I relate to Tavros (don't worry I've made friends, and seen prayers answered, not depressing). But you're right it's too subjective to label Tavros.

I’ll be honest, i didn’t like Tavros at first. I only ever saw his many failures and shortcomings. As a Taurpia, i was naturally insulted, i did not want to be associated with him.

I have aspergers and id like to say that while it’s not canon, I headcanon that tavros has aspergers! his interest in pupa pan and possibly fiduspawn is what I always saw as a special interest? and his anxiety of fully “being himself” could relate to us normally having a persona that’s socially acceptable? but that’s just my headcanon!! :3

I always thought that’s this was about the summoner and the song was a ballad of the summoner and how he was a hero of trolls and fought for the good of the world and in turn ended in his death and the banning of adult trolls on alterina and how there might be a small group of the sufferers cult that became the Summoners cult and they wrote that song for their hero the summoner and it just happen to Aline with Taveros(I spelt that wrong I think?) because of the whole your will follow in your ancestors footsteps so taveros just happened to make the FRIEND ARMY

Davepeta literally was able to fly FROM the final session and arrive at the green sun.
Furthermore, the troll dancestors were able to be physically present in the meteor that Karkat and company were riding on. Dave comments on this when Meenah passes through, "what could she even do, like kick over an old pile of garbage and cause the property value to fall even lower than jack [redacted]?" If any of the characters' ghosts can manifest on/in/around an object physically passing through that purgatory dreamland, then they could presumably manifest and exist in a stable-state reality. To elaborate, I am fairly certain Aranea was stun-locked (Aranea's class, god-tier, and caste abilities being the target) when the Condence dropped her into lava (a few pages after "[s] Game Over'). I am certain that the life ring DOES NOT kill its deceased wearer when it is removed from their person. While all of that sounds flimsy, I am personally unaware of whether Hussie confirmed nor refuted this possible theory, if ever postulated.

hey about the whole thing about Tavros possibly having aspergers. I am someone who does have aspergers and I have noticed that Tavros acts alot like I do. from my experience of living with aspergers and also talking with others with it (like my brother and some of my friends) I have learned that there are two different "personalities" that people with aspergers have. there is the positive personality and the negative personality. the positive personality acts positive towards other people but are kinda awkward in social interactions. the negative personality rarely speaks and when they do they either are "robotic" in the way they speak or have a lot of attitude (depending on the situation). I am one who has a positive personality and my brother has the negative personality. If Tavros does have aspergers he obviously would be one with a positive personality. But one thing about the positive personality is that in some rare cases some (including me) have extremely bad anger issues. at a young age (between 6 and 12) they have an extremely short fuse and will be prone to "black outs". a "black out" happens when the sufferer experiences a large amount of stress. once they finally snap they will become extremely violent until they become exhausted or lose conscious. once they calm down or regain consciousness they will in most cases have no memory of the events of the blackout. when i was little my good friend and now girlfriend would have to restrain me or in most cases knock me out before i could do any serious harm to myself or someone else. thankfully as I and others like me got older we have a fuse long enough to wrap around the earth twice. Tavros doesn't seem to suffer from the black outs, so he would have the more common variety of positive personalities. He also seems to have a very long fuse and ends up feeling more sad rather than angry. Also i personally don't think of aspergers as a form of autism because those who have a form of autism are quite different from those with aspergers. Those with autism mostly don't have a sense of maturity until their early to late 20s. People with aspergers tend to start being more mature around the age of 13-18 but they do still have a childish side (except the negative personalities). My final verdict on the matter is that it is possible but unless the creator himself says so i'm just going to go with a "maybe". well I think I've been rabling for long enough so if you have read this to the end I thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this comment and if you have any questions i will gladly answer.

Tavros COULD have autism, just not too much of it. I know people who have Autism that are pretty normal, and people with Autism that have a hard time speaking their mind. I myself am on the spectrum. Doesn’t make him any less of a great character. :3

I have autism, and I don’t think that Tavros has autism. There are a lot of characters that fit the bill more accurately, namely Nepeta and Jade, but I think that Tavros’s behavioral patterns align fine with the anxiety and trauma he’s experienced without an autism diagnosis lol. Its a fun head cannon though!
