Some of them can be a real challenge, especially after they've had several other people "working" on them. If they were all straight forward clean, bush and reassemble, there would be no need for multiple videos.

Nice work, especially fabricating the replacement brass part that holds the two wires that activate the music box. It looks like the music box plays two tunes, one on the even hours and one on the odd hours. From what I understand, one wire releases the music box and the other stops the fan in a sort of warning phase before it is released and the music box runs. I am wondering what stops the music box at the end of the tune. What causes it to lock?
The two tunes are for hour and half hour. The music box stops when the tab that runs on the end of the pin drum drops into a hole on the end, the edge of the hole pulls on the tab, which is part of the larger lever that the wire pushes down. another part of that same brass lever has an extension with a piece of plastic tubing on it. As the whole lever is pulled by the hole in the drum, that piece of plastic is pulled into the path of the governor fan and the music box is stopped. At the next time for playing, when the tab is lifted out of the hole, the plastic piece is retracted, releasing the governor fan that then rotates until it meets the second wire that acts as a warning device, getting the box ready to play at the end of the cuckoo sequence.
BTW, some cuckoos with two tunes may be just as you suggested, and the levers and wires can be adjusted to make the box either play on just the hour or on both the hour and half-hour. One can tell by simply setting it up one way, for example to play just on the hour, and then watch the weights over a period of a couple days. If the music box weight lags way behind the time and strike weights, one then knows it was built to play on both hour and half-hour. On the other hand, if a clock is set to play on both hour and half-hour and the music weight hits the floor long before the other two weights, then, clearly it was designed to play on just the hour.
In an older video from 4 years ago, you had to remove those crab style rings from the black of the clock. You stated in the comments that they were "g-type compression rings". Do you have a source for them? Mine went flying and I can't find replacements online. Thanks

If it runs slow, move the pendulum bob UP on the stick. If it runs fast, move the pendulum bob DOWN on the stick. Move in small amounts until it keeps better time.

That's why I'm retired and this is a hobby. If all of them were just routine clean, bush and reassemble, there would be no fun in it.
