This was quite the fun discussion and enlightening in other ways. Was super cool that you were able to get Dramata1 as part of it.
I'm super pumped for the dlc of 30 but also a bit sad to say goodbye it. I only started playing SRW in 2020, when everyone was locked inside so I ordered and played V as a curiosity, having heard of this "Super Robot Wars" series for years only to get hooked and immediately ordered X and T. But by the time I finished these games, everyone had already moved on from them. 30 was the first time I was with the community and was able to react along side others to something new.
Though I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what future SRW games have in store and hopefully 30's reception on Steam convinces the company to keep releasing on PC in the west.
Happy you took such a liking to the series. If you have a good enough device I suggest playing OGs on PS2 since it now has an English patch. Perfect place to fall in love with the OG characters.
How I got into SRW: I saw a friend play a video from PS2 OGs(IIRC) during after school club in high school and thought "that was cool", but I didn't actually touch the franchise until I got into emulation in 2009 and found GBA OG2 (yeah I played 2 before 1, and still prefer it tbh). After finding that I wanted more, and SRW 3 was one of the few translated games with licensed series so I gave it a try but was put off by the older difficulty and the fact that they gave you a lot of UC Gundam at the start and not much else. I skipped to SRW 4 despite my inexperience with untranslated games, and once Time To Come started playing as it presented me with character customization for the first time(!) I was sold. Didn't matter that I didn't know who Grendizer or Dancougar or L-Gaim were, I was down to learn through gameplay.
I just hope they remove lv scaling in the next game. You know there's something wrong if your party already maxed out by the time you reach 3/4 of the game, without grinding. It's crazy that by the end everyone can cast valor for like 5 consecutive turns and still have some SP left.
For series, I hope they include fafner and IBO in the same game, just so we can save everybody. Lol
Facts, levels get a bit silly when I’m here with level 200 characters before I’ve taken down Zanscare.
I looked up Devolution Hayato's VA because the name seemed familiar and well, he was Orga from IBO. No wonder.

This was a good discussion. I was aware of the series when I saw a clip of Tekkaman Blade in J. Then W and it spiraled into loving the franchise.

My first SRW was OG The Moon Dwellers the dark souls of SRW it seems. And I thought the new og mech was either going to be FF/GGsoulsaber or G Compatible Kaiser.....SPRIAL KNUCKLE!!!
I didn't know Getter Devolution was actually really disliked either til my twitter feed the other day. It just wild to me people really don't like Devolution. Since I didn't know about the leaks I was so happy to see it announced.
I want Getter Go or Neo Getter as the getter machine in the next main series game, those are my favorite getters.
I'm definitely with you on that one Bao, dat Getter Devolution is one SEXY BEAST! Also VOTOMS is so very much my numeral uno favorite anime to the point where some people call me the VOTOMS prophet.
As for favorite game in the SRW series, I'm definitely all about the Alpha trilogy, especially Alpha 3 which is a celebration of everything awesome about 80's & 90's mecha epics like Macross, Zeta Gundam, Char's Counterattack, Gunbuster, and of course motherfuckin' GaoGaiGar and Shin Getter motherfuckin' Robo. The Z trilogy is also very close 2nd and I'm already a huge fan of W too might I add.

@@BaoZakeruga I'm still wondering when they're gonna make a Getter Devolution anime. Seriously Eiichi Shimizu's a very much underrated mecha artist almost to the same caliber as the likes of Makoto Kobayashi, Shoji Kawamori, Yutaka Izubuchi, Kunio Okawara, and Junya Ishigaki.

Devolution's Hayato voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya. He's well known for Reiner from Attack on Titan(Yes, 1 team with Eren lol), X-Eins from Valvrave, Orga Itsuka from Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans(So yes... He voiced 2 characters in this game), Gaius Worzel from Eiyuu no Densetsu Trails of Cold Steel, & Kazuichi Soda from Danganronpa 2
As for Devolution's Benkei, voiced by Natsuki Hanae(Despite his name, he's legit, a guy). He's known for his role as Kaizuka Inaho from Aldnoah Zero, Biscuit Griffon from Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans(FINALLY! ORGA REUNITED WITH BISCUIT! BISCUIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!), Falco Grice from Attack on Titan(So basically, our Getter pilots are Titans.....), 9S from Nier Automata(Unexpected...), & Reinhard from Rune Factory 5.
For OG 3... COME ON! MAKE IT COME TRUE!!! RELEASE IT ON SWITCH TOO!!!!!
Regarding SRW... If not for Front Mission 3, my love for mecha, & power of Internet, i will never got a chance to play SRW. My 1st SRW is W then K & L... Played it on my DS, luckily i was able to complete those before my DS got forcefully snatched from me by my mom... Then played Z2 Hakai & Saisei, then OG 1 & 2 on GBA, J(Eng Patched), Alpha Gaiden(Obviously Eng Patched), then OE(Ewwwww), V(1 of my fav), X(The story is meh, and the amount of Wataru sickens me), T(Still salty for no Sekiha Kyukyoku Tenkyou Ken), & 30. My fav SRW of all time is Z2(Both Hakai & Saisei Hen), then 30 & finally W... Because of this new expansion, my plan to play W again got delayed so hard.....
For my most stand out moment in SRW... In SRW V when they tell story about the future of SEED Destiny where Shin Asuka learn to behave & forgiving Jesus Yamato... That moment is, wow... But my fav of all time is the banter between Arado & Seolla, those 2 are my fav OTP in SRW of all time. In SRW OG 2 where basically Arado doing his best to remind Seolla about everything because Seolla got her memory altered. And Rom Stohl... OMFG I LOVE HIS APPEARANCE!!! Dang he's so cool XD And Sekiha Kyukyoku Tenkyouken, that moment, is GREAT!!!
My wish for upcoming Super Robot Taisen... More Combo Atk(Seriously, this keeps bothering me especially i have to compare the new series with the NDS titles..... The amount is like night & day), 2 units as 1 team like they did it in L(In K too, but L is better), more unsafe lineups(Like Xenogears, Webdiver, & more ZOIDS. Magic & Knights is 1 of that example, for me), each MC have different OG Mech(Like A where Axel with Soulgain & Lamia with Angelg), If possible each MC has their own story, this is just my wish but hope they can make the animation like Relayer(Still super salty for no Relayer on Switch & PC.....), Visual Novel QoL(Especially like what Dramata said, difference between the one that you have read & haven't), & for the OG mech at the very least make it like V where you can choose 1 of the 2 upgrades.....

I really enjoyed this I could listen to all of you talk about SRW all day. I really hope SRW OG 3rd gets green lit I have been anticipating it ever since OG 2nd and I really want to see the Shin RyuKoOh and SRX Banpreios with updated graphics plus the plot from Alpha 3. I would be really sad if it never got made.
I've been fantasizing about the Dis Astrangant in HD for as long as I can remember. I need OG3 so bad.

Really good discussion and I'm definitely happy about this and also I can finally beat the game which I hasn't done yet, but I feel with the current features of SRW 30 go back to a more structured mission flow like VXT cause man this game is long yet fun...cannot wait to use Trombe!!!! It has the Arios-guy animation treatment
Is it done by Mr Arios? I didn't look too closely during the trailer but that's hype if so.
@@BaoZakeruga I looked at it twice and the motion of when it jumps in the air it has that transition like Gepenst has when doing my fav move Neutron Beam, but it could be just that attack like so too.

My first SRW game was Original Generation 2 for the GBA, at first I was confused why Gamestop was selling a "New" GBA game, (the box looked trashed), but then I noticed there were robots on the cover. I was on a giant robot high, Shaman King season 2 was recent, Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Megas XLR, Gundam Seed; I picked it up fearing it would be a lost opportunity. As soon as I saw the intro demo I was hooked, the game where the OCs get their Super Robots; I was pissed to find out OGs (PS2) altered story I grew to love (ironic for a 15th Anniversary game).
I only played two SRW games to completion; *SWR OG 2 (GBA),* and *SRW: T (Switch),* I refuse to rom games, bad experiences from early pc gaming. ...The only stand out moment I can think of is, when Sanger/Ratsel get the _Double Generals_ and the Inspector is completely lost, at the writing on the screen _“what does 'Episode 30' mean?”_ (even pushing Ratsel's split-screen aside in the anime)
I wish playing these games would get me into anime, but my Dad _still_ can't stand anime, I can't finish Gundam Unicorn with him in the house
I must be overspending, because I've never capped on credits, I'm always broke trying to upgrade more units, lol.
If you go straight for the money making upgrades for the dreistreiger in 30 and are using money spirit commands/parts, you'll be raking in money like crazy.
@@BaoZakeruga Fair point, I should be using Fortune and Bless more. Pretty sure my 200%/Attack 20 Shin Getter Dragon could one-shot me to financial stability at this point.
I welcome the OG3 challenge, but I have no problem with how casual the newer games are. It lets me us Fa against everything.
what are the best units for srw 30
honestly anyone can be a great unit in 30 with little effort but the ones that stand out by default are pretty much every main character. Gridman and GaoGaiGar Final in particular.
