Having worked in a large corporation for 9 years, I can confirm that this is absolutely true. I observed a direct correlation between climbing the corporate ladder and investing time in social connections outside of work. When my schedule became busier, preventing me from participating in their after-work social events, I noticed a shift in how I was perceived. Despite this, I decided to venture out on my own, and today I am running my own small business. It might be modest in size, but it's entirely mine.

I don't think it's about being dumb specifically. I think it's more about personality and risk tolerance. Starting your own business is far riskier than having a safe salaried job that pays you every month for pressing the same buttons every day. Someone who is risk-averse, regardless of their intelligence, will most likely not even try that.
And also, someone who doesn't get discouraged easily, someone hard working who is very determined to get their ideas to fruition, someone who can network with others, someone with charisma, someone who can persuade people to buy their products or services and/or invest in their idea... that's the person that will succeed in starting a business. An introvert whose hands start sweating the moment they even think of talking to someone, is way more likely to go for a safe job where they don't have to worry about any of that.

Yo I honestly don’t know a lot of lawyers or doctors who say that what they learned in school almost never applied to their real world job there’s way to much generalization in this video. And also god forbid you people get stuck at six figures I mean what kinda life is that..

Totally disagree. There is a lot of positive aspects I learned from college and I was in special ed until 7th grade. I’ve always struggled with attention and school, but I’m so glad I pushed through grad school. It took me 10 years but I credit my ability to think critically and view things from different angles. I appreciate understanding how to breakdown an argument and finding credible sources etc… but I get what he’s saying. Life does teach you a lot of other types of lessons that you don’t get in school.
