Wow! As someone who's been wanting to repaste for a while, finally searched and glad to have seen your video. Learned a few technical terms, everything you said was applicable to the video, no added dialogue to waste time. Noticed other videos didn't mention powering stored energy after d/c'ing the battery, very glad you mentioned this. Others also didn't torque down the header properly. Thanks for making the video, very very glad to have watched you disassemble / reassemble so that I can in a few minutes do the same and repaste the chips. Subscribed, hope to see more videos as this is what a repair video should be. Cheers🍻
Amazing breakdown, managed to clean the fans myself instead of paying someone/Dell to do it. My laptop had been getting hot and getting video fan errors from the BIOS for a while.
Glad it helped. If you haven't already, please like and subscribe so others can find my videos and possibly consider watching a few others to get the algorithm to recommend my channel. Thanks!
I like your workmanship. Mine was overheating pretty bad. Its right beside the enter key. I did a thorough cleaning and updated all the firmware, and it's now at much more acceptable temperature

Thanks for your videos. Whats that manual fan thing called? I dont have compressed air at home, and using canned air seems like an environmentally bad solution.
Hi, recently I needed to replace both cpu and gpu fans in my xps 7590. I've bought following ones: 008YY9 and 0TK9J1. However, during replacement I've seen that the original part numbers are 2x 0V9H8N. I've decided to go yolo and mounted first ones, they work properly. My question is, does it matter much? Can this decision damage my laptop? Thanks in advance!
The heatsink was not installed properly it seems like. Look at the small edge with the heatpad near the top it should go under the golden tape. There is a lip on the heatsink now on top of the golden tape where as before it was under. Maybe doesn't matter too much but I would definitely try to install it as it were.
No, it's very dangerous. I like to destroy computers and tell people I'm fixing them (sarcasm). Lol Why do people ask these questions? Does it look dangerous?
Hey Binh the issue we have is Trackpad coming up, online says could be swollen battery, but when we ran diagnostics it says everything including the battery is working well.
Question for anyone else who owns this model, have you ever had a weird chemical smell coming from it? Mine recently started giving off these weird fumes, but I should emphasize my laptop isn't overheating, and it's functioning completely normally aside from this smell. I've never spilled anything on it either. I've owned it for 2 years now and I'm not sure what's going on, but it's making my chest hurt. I may try opening it up and cleaning out the fans, not sure that's the problem though.
Ehat the hell!!!! Never clean fans like that, you will burn something. You should not ever spin the fans, because they produce electricity and may damage a PC!!!
@alexmorgun851 maybe you should learn how modern tech works. Here's a whole playlist of fan repair videos. Fan Repair: ua-cam.com/play/PLSSiYX-ta7aqqxfDWDQh-B6Az4ZgDI459.html

Awesome, glad it helped! I've been told to cut stuff out and make them more entertaining lol but that serves a different audience.

If they're same shape and everything, it should be ok.
What is the best thermal paste for these laptops... I just used mx6 but seems very hot around cpu area
I don't think there really is a best. They're all very similar. It's supposed to get hot, but should be below 80c. I like ic diamond

Golden tape?

Hmmm
Is it safe to put oil in the fan?

Hey Binh the issue we have is Trackpad coming up, online says could be swollen battery, but when we ran diagnostics it says everything including the battery is working well.
You can't diagnose a physical issue with software... you need to physically check it. There is no swollen battery detector. Lol
@@ItsBinhRepaired got it 😂
@@ItsBinhRepaired I suspect something must be wrong because the touchpad is lifted.
@@sampatel-realtor Yeah, physically open the computer and check the battery. Lol
Binh what size are the 2 screws under the flap? PH1 didn’t work.
Was it really necessary to disconnect eDP cable to remove the fan?
You can try doing it without that.
@@ItsBinhRepaired Is it doable though?
I hate how UA-cam doesn't notify me of replies. Were you able to figure it out?
Nope.

Strange. No idea
sounds like a battery leak.... realise I'm very late on this lol
Lol
can this model run Win8.1 properly? anybody tried?
Sure, why not?
@@ItsBinhRepaired thanks, have you personally tried it?
I was wondering how did you manage to get all the drivers on this laptop for Win8.1?
@Samuel Neo Why would anyone want 8.1? That's like the worst windows OS. LOL
