I am so glad to see people from north enjoying Gujarati dishes, especially at the place where Surtis live for eating. There is one saying that Surat nu jaman and Kashi nu Maran ( comparison between Surat and Kashi, Eat in Surat and die in kashi for the ultimate experience of soul.) And people also say that once you are in Surat you won't be willing to leave it for a long time. Me being Surati and Parsi, I am happy to see you all here and enjoying surati food would have been a great experience for you all. You all should have experienced a good food at Revolving restaurant which also has parsi food, also golden dragon which has good non veg indo Chinese food. And Surat trip won't be finished if you didn't try Locho.

I want you to come Ahmedabad and try Gordhan Thal it has the best authentic gujarati food in entire Gujarat. I am definitely sure you will love it!

Out of all the places you could’ve chosen, why choose one that serves a “wonton samosa” and punjabi dal? Where’s the ringda bateta nu shaak, undhiyu, bajra no rotlo, khichdi, etc etc? You missed out on the real gujju experience…

I'm so glad you guys have been to my place surat. I just want to tell you make one episode just on travelling surat and try Locho, Dumas Langer bhajiya of tomato and ratalu. Guys trust me surat is a the correct place if you are foody. Even it's a saying in gujarati " Surat nu jaman and Kashi nu maran"!! So come once again to surat

Gattu is that person who everyone wants to be friends with. Especially me, If zi was Gattu's BFF then I would be just pulling his cheeks all day.
There is a Basic difference, Gujarati food = sweet. Kathiawadi food = spicy. You should try kathiawadi food next which will have more spicy versions. Recommendations = Ringda-nu Oro (Baingan bharta), Undhiyu, Khichdi-kadhi. Available in "Saurashtra" regions of Gujarat (Rajkot, Jamnagar, etc..)

Come to Bangalore and try the punjabi food at Kapoor's cafe, HRBR layout. This does not mean that the South Indian food places are not good in the city. But its more about the surprise element of finding good north Indian food (even better than some places in the North) in the city.

The best Gujarati Thali I've had is in Mumbai 😂 , Marine Lines's "Status" is the most famous Vegetarian restaurant for their Thalis. Literally any relative or friend who come from abroad always eat their thali without fail. They have one day booked to visit South Mumbai and finish their day in Status Restaurant. Status is every Vegetarian Mumbaikar's weekend lunch/dinner spot❣️

By any chance if you visit Ahmedabad then you must visit manek chowk its a vegetable market in the morning and bullion market in the noon and the best part is it's street food market at night as you can explore verity of food but rush is too high during that time period which give different experience.
Also try out chulivarchi misal in nashik, aka the wine capital of India!
