- Welcome back to another upcycle project!
In this video turn this mexican pine sideboard in a modern look but keeping its history.
We got this unit for free from Facebook Marketplace.
The amount of stuff people give away for free or bring them to the dump otherwise is insane.
We always try and save as much as possible, but unfortunately we can't get everything as we work from our flat.
This unit was fun to upcycle and we are very happy how it turned out. Chantal wanted to keep it for a while, but we
have too much furniture to upcycle still.
The products we used and where to get them:
Sugarsoap - amzn.to/3DR2Lf2
Sandpaper 220 and 180 grit - amzn.to/3h2MmdT
Polyfilla white - amzn.to/3zMyk7n
Polyfilla brown - amzn.to/2WWLGjo
Frogtape - amzn.to/3n725wi
Bin zinsser primer - amzn.to/3DPKGhu
Frenchic Blackjack - amzn.to/2VlTGty
Ronseal dark walnut - amzn.to/3tjYRqf
Polyvine - amzn.to/3DQNafs
Black handles - amzn.to/3h39d92

Thank you Lori ❤️
Great job. Don't know how you do it in a small space. I'd have paint all over everything.
Thanks will! Haha yeah we have to be very careful
Came out amazing....But paint the screw heads they stick out....paint them with black nail polish....otherwise Beautiful ❤️
Thanks for your comment Debra. Someone pointed that out to us and to be honest we didn’t even think about it. For our next project we definitely will. Thanks for watching and your feedback. Always appreciated😊
Beautiful piece, you should paint the screw heads they kinds stand out.
Thanks. Oh we didn’t think about that. It’s sold now so maybe next time 😊
Easy fix is a black sharpie marker on the screws. Nice makeover!
@@beckyrubin3754 we’ll definitely do that next time 🙌 thank you 😊
Wow, that is gorgeous!! You've guys have inspired me to get painting my old furniture. Thank you 🤍
Ah thank you so much, glad you liked it! Amazing, good luck with your furniture Shenia 😊
should of painted the screw heads black if you couldn’t find black screws. Love the look but finishing details will take it up a level
Out of the ballpark, Dean and Chantel! I love it!!!! I think black and stained wood is my favorite combo. Great job! Sherry
Thanks Sherry we really appreciate it. We weren’t sure about doing it black but absolutely love the way it turned out 😊
This is my favorite one you guys have done so far! That stain with the black is perfect!
Thanks Amber, we really appreciate it. We weren’t sure about doing it black but it worked well ❤️

Thank you Elaine ❤️
Really pretty. Good job
Thanks Deana ❤️😊
Wow, that turned out great! It really did go from drab to fab. I was thinking I’d clean it and sell it as is, but that’s why you two are the pros!
Haha thanks Blakeford! We aren’t pros, just two muppets trying to paint 😂
Beautiful job!
Thank you Kelli 😊❤️
It looks really good, but I didn't understand why you didn't keep the doors, I think it would have looked better with them. But love the black and the stain together🙌 always fun to see a video from you!
Thanks Emma, tbt we just wanted to try something different, we appreciate not everyone’s going to like it. Thanks, we love that your coming back to watch ❤️
Beautiful!
Thank you Valerie 🙏❤️
Stunning
Thank you❤️
Beautiful makeover😍
Thank you LaVintage❤️
That is a good example of the combination of black and the wood stain. I am a bit afraid of using black. It is hard to justify that color in my area of the world. People are more into the chippy country farm look. The removal of the drawers worked well with making the piece appear lighter and able to fit into a smaller dining space. As always.....excellent work.
Thanks Michael, to be honest we were are bit concerned and afraid as well haha. We have never used black before and when we used the white primer, we thought that looks good with a lighter colour. But we already had the black so we just went with it and we are happy that we did!
Whereabouts are you?
Thanks again for your comment, we really appreciate it😊
@@furniturefliphustle3531 I live a few miles south of Austin Texas. Texas farmhouse furniture is very popular here. I wanted to correct my first comment. I meant to say doors instead of drawers. Thank y'all again for sharing your work.
Wow! You guys turned this from bland to high end! Awesome work!
Thanks guys ❤️
I love it! Did you keep it or sell it?
Thank you Tanya! You’ll have to wait for our next video to see what we did with it 😊❤️
Should have used black screws
Yeah definitely! We will next time
Just intersted, with the amount you put into this around £100. How much would this sell for?
What is the white stuff that you applied in the final stage?
It’s called polyvine, it’s a protective top coat
@@furniturefliphustle3531 thanks for sharing 🎯💯
you do not need to do all that prep when using frenchic paint ,just saying .
he got nice feet
😂 thanks Diana, I’m glad to hear it
