- 👨🏻🔧 This video shows how to repair BMW 5 Series E39 (models from 1995 to 2004), BMW M5 E39 (models from 1998 to 2003), BMW 7 Series E38 (models from 1994 to 2001) and BMW X5 E53 (models from 1999 to 2006) dashboards, replacing the fading or unreadable OBC display with dead pixels with Minitools part SEPDISP02BF.

Why do you use kapton tape in this place?
Hi Jacek, the Kapton tape has been used to insulate the edge of the PCB, in order to avoid shorts between the display flat cable and the board.

Oh my, I'm a bit disappointed with bmw engineers and designers.. couldn't they make it a bit easier to replace the display..
Car companies aren't interested in anyone being able to repair anything on their cars that needs servicing after the warranty is up. They would tell you to throw the car away and buy a new one.
@@tempest411 I know, you are right.."we value your opinion and your feedback", but doing opposite, kind of thing..that kind of philosophy in general, has brought our civilisation to the point where we are right now, at the brink of existence..in short, a human kind is taken for granted, from every perspective..
Doable but requires way too much time, money and effort for what should be a simple fix.
I rather buy new one from other car parts out save time and cheaper
