We have a local market (not a farmer's market) once a week in our town; since seeing this clip when it was first aired we refer to our market as 'The Morten'.
If you are a farmer trying to get your niche product noticed by the big supermarkets, trawling round these places is essential. You're not ripping anyone off...the people who buy the stuff are willing buyers and can afford it. Problem is...as soon as a supermarket takes you on on a 12-24month contract, you soon see how ruthless they are. And often it's just not worth the bother
Long ago when I sold at a farmers market, all my produce was fairly priced and genuinely sourced from less than 7 miles away. I lost my pitch to a wanker who sells produce from mainland Europe relabelled as ‘local’. Trading standards couldn’t give a shit.
British humor takes such an attention span that even the audience misses the joke at 1:56. Sold to the man is the mustard pants, then they look at their pants and they are both wearing mustard pants!

Do you have any friends ?
@@tonywright8294he probably does. What about you, spending your time trolling a three year-old comment?
Morten Harket / Farmers Market - Cut in with a A-Ha hit - brilliant!
George Bennett I rarely 'lol' ... but I did, damn them
Yes yes yes, it's really Morten!!! Soooooo cute!!!
This has to have been sponsored by Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys
As an English person, I noticed that straight away.
is that woman at the start Will's mum from the inbetweeners? she is fit.
Yes, back when this was filmed she was married to Ben Miller.
I hate show tunes but absolutely loved this!
Open air Waitrose - That's what those places should be called.
This is exactly why I go to supermarkets.
Was that Morten Harket!?

Farmer's Markets are expensive and tend to attract middle class artisans rather than actual farmers, but they're still worth going to

0:56 the voice doesn't match the actor - it's Jim Howick's voice
Look, it's Douglas' Wife!!!
@DJxBash It is ... she was also in Primeval... and Ben Miller's ex wife.

valhallaforever1 mustard pants are de rigueur at farmer's markets.
Cords but I quibble
They are All wearing mustard trousers, at the beginning of the skit.
